Vinland Saga is a very dark Seinen story and shows pretty well and faithfully the cruelty and brutality of that time. Its not a anime for fairy tail lovers
beastmasterbg only the action scenes are exaggerated for entertainment only. Other than that it’s pretty realistic. Especially small teenagers back in the Viking era. Since there bodies were strong but small, they were fast as hell which allowed them to easily kill the huge, slow Vikings which are around 6’3+
I think this episode represents the idea that Thorfinn could have left this life of murder and just lived a normal life as a normal kid, but he threw that away in his desire for revenge. Really sad stuff

We get too much Shounen compared to good Seinen stories. This show is this season's top 3 anime easily.
