    Tuomas Holopainen and Jukka Nevalainen have a nice eminence in this video.
    Part 1 - Airport + Holy Diver (a Dio's song)
    Part 2 - Planet Hell
    Part 3 - Dark Chest of Wonders

    This is one of the worst audios I've heard in a long time. Yet, I enjoyed every minute of this video.
    Thanks to the one who recorded it and also to Nightwish to allowed it.
    I've always wanted to see continuous footage of Jukka behind the kit.
    This was so perfect. He is a huge inspiration to me in drumming. I hope he can come back any time.

    Exactly! You don't have to extremly fast at playing to be good. You just need great style and rhythme! Jukka shows that you can also be great with a fast rhythme like in Wishmaster!

    @Swift016 Using 2 hi-hats with double bass is far more easier setup than messing around with one hi-hat with drop clutch and double bass

  • @blacksheep806
    @blacksheep806 12 лет назад

    @Swift016 I tought it was like that since I have seen many other people to also say they use 2 hihats with double bass one closed one open

  • @Swift016
    @Swift016 12 лет назад

    @blacksheep806 You can open and close your hi-hats with a drop clutch on. Unless you wanted to switch between open and closed during a stream of solid 16ths on the bass drums, a drop clutch is more efficient and economical, and that never happens anyway. And regardless, your statement that double bass players use two hi-hats more often than not is untrue. Most drummers use two hats for versatility in playing (open handed on the right side of the kit) and sound (different hats).

  • @Nightwizard17
    @Nightwizard17 13 лет назад

    @edeyale yo tuve la suerte de conocerlo y fue muy buen tipo. nos sacamos una foto y me firmo la entrada al concierto (en dos tiempos distintos jajaja) fue bastante simpatico.

  • @Swift016
    @Swift016 12 лет назад

    @blacksheep806 Okay, you really don't know what you're talking about now. Haha. A drop clutch operates exactly the same as a regular hi-hat clutch, but with the added ability to let go when hit with a stick.

  • @blacksheep806
    @blacksheep806 11 лет назад +1

    Those sound he tested at the beginning is so freaking powerfull and amazing! Tuomas told in a interview that he uses oasys samples and he has 2 macs in gig running those samples, so his keyboards are only controllers. But this is released in 2004, and Oasys released in 2005 so I don't know what his setup was in this video but I highly doubt you can get so powerfull sounds from synth like n364 :P

  • @blacksheep806
    @blacksheep806 12 лет назад

    @Swift016 I know what drop blutch is... But what the hell that has to do with double bass and 2 hi-hats. That thing only keeps the hi-hat closed... you still need 2 hi-hats if you want to play double bass with closed AND open hi-hat, looks like you are the one here who is not getting this thing.

      Yes, Jukka (an now Kai as well) plays using in-ear monitor playing the backing tracks with a metronome. I think Tuomas uses as well.
