I would just like to say I understand some of the problems and difficulties you have gone through but even for me as a total laryngectomy survivor I admire your honesty and would like to tell you there is a good life to look forward to.

Christ Mandy, you’ve been through the wringer. I can sympathise with you having had full emergency abdominal surgery and just recently aorta replacement surgery. Ridiculous amount of scars and healing to be done this year. However, what I want you to absolutely do is REST, eat and sleep. You only get to recover from this surgery ONCE….. ( a wise dr told me this) Do not attempt to lift, pull or push anything for months. It will take a long time before you are healed enough and you have to take the time your body needs to recover. Please take care of yourself ❤

😢I was getting ready to go to bed when I decided to check UTube one last time and I am so glad that I did. It was so good to see your post and hear that you are out of the hospital and feeling better each day. I know that you don’t like this way of living but it won’t be long before you will have your strength back and things will be back to normal for you. You are so strong and have such a positive attitude that I know you will get through this rough time. I thought you looked good and your voice was strong. Hang in there and I look forward to your next update.
As a 20 year survivor of bowel cancer I was particularly lucky to have an excellent (Unfortunately retired GP) who spotted I had a problem early. Stay strong!

So happy to see you out of hospital. Be gentle with yourself it’s hard not to feel frustrated as you just want to get back to normal. My road to recovery after surgery and treatment has been much harder and longer than I expected. I have had to accept a new normal and learn to rest which is not in my nature and listen to my body. When I don’t then I set myself back. But the frustration and effect on your mental health is definitely a battle. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and you will get there. I am so happy to see you out of hospital. I ended up in ITU just before my breast cancer treatment ended. It was a horrific scary time. 7 years on I realised it left me with PTSD which I should have seeked help with. Watching your video has made me realise I need that help now as it took me back to that time. Please both look after yourselves mentally as well as physically. You are both doing amazingly ❤
