    This woman is the real deal folks. She’s a sailor. Her channel isn’t tits and ass in beautiful palm studded places. It is about what is REALLY involved in long distance cruising. She also gives time to the people and cultures she deals with. If you’re dreaming about cruising by sail, this is the person you want to watch.

    I like this chick. Getting it done with the bare minimum. No 2024 Lagoon 45 or Seawind sitting in anchorages in the Bahamas with air conditioning telling us about "boat life" and how wonderful it is. This chick is a sailor.

    Isn't she like a breath of fresh air?! I cannot tell you - or her! - although I often have! - of how much I admire her. I have watched her from the get-go, and for me, personally, she is my favorite sailing vlog. No drama, no hissyfits when things so astray (as we all know is a fact of life in sailing), and one cool head under pressure/danger. I often say, in my next life, I'm coming back as Holly! Thank you for talking to her! Great interview on your behalf as well! -Darcee

    Hello, Good afternoon MSS Skipper, I truly see a growth in you in every sense, to overcome setbacks that others declare their indexlinable resignation to simple difficulties that do not have as plan. You must feel proud of your personal story, truly Neil Amstrong gave a small step of man, I see that you are ready after this ocean manage to focus on another level, rising a step, for this always the human beings we want luck, but really luck will smile at you just to the minds prepared. Large Maine's citizens, especially the Massachusetts seasons, are good brave, congratulations, I will be attentive to the passage where you will have very eyes wide, that step is the narrow of towers. Beautiful your story. 👌

    Since Holly had a close call with a TANKER, I've been on a crusade to get folks to help her. I upped my Patreon for her, (she needs to up the max to $18 a month) and I'm hoping others will do the same so she can upgrade her equipment and maybe light Gecko up like a Christmas tree so even when a tanker has its AIS off out in the middle of know where she can be seen ! Those radar systems with warnings are cool also, but AIS needs to work for sure. She needs to have all that stuff checked out closely by an expert. Please people, donate to her so she can be safe.

    I lost my boat at Whittaker creek marina also. It was a Dufour35’ named “Grace”. I’m in St. John. I’m gonna buy a 32 westsail on Monday. I hope you read comments. I’ll find you otherwise.

    The new communications is pretty much starlink but its $250 a month plus equipment costs and I've heard of data extra costs . Thats a lot for many sailors. I've been trying to get people to pay attention to some of the fHF stuff that is happening because Data on HF is quite powerful and very inexpensive. One guy, Barry, has it and I know that right now he's passing the Kermatics on his way to Fiji from New Zealand !

    insurance(s.)...?

    • @Kit2Canada
      @Kit2Canada 5 месяцев назад

      It’s not a simple answer (but) briefly, third party insurance is mandatory in all the Marinas - I case you damage the dock or an expensive boat. “Loss of boat” insurance is another matter as it depends on its replacement value. If this is a serious question, follow “Sam Holmes Sailing” Sailing in the Mediterranean. He’s been denied entry several times - based on his insurance.
      Just a second thought: Location is another factor - for example my insurance covers me during daylight hours, and not open ocean. Hence it’s quite inexpensive - yet ideal as my sailing is around the Gulf Island east of Vancouver Island.
      I did sail around Vancouver Island (in open ocean) and I “self insured” during the trip.
