I love playing chess when I was a child. For a long time I realize that I forgot it >> Your video made my passion with this sport rises again !! Thank you so much
Just in case this isn't common knowledge for others, for the grain-matching on the sides - you can have it be continuous all the way around if you re-saw it like you did with the bottom. Trickier to get the measurements perfect, but it's possible. I'm looking forward to trying this myself for the first time soon. :)
Very nice build and treasure for Andy👍. One safety point - the MicroJig Grr-Pipper would be a better pusher since it controls both sides of the stock, and the saw isn’t flesh sensing.
I watched your Hammer video. I am getting the A3 31. The information you provided was very helpful in the decision process. Have you considered adding an overhead lift point with a chain hoist near the door opening? This is what I have done and find it very easy to unload heavy equipment from packaging and set it on a mobile base assy. Thanks for the great information!
That was an awesome project Jason. I got a dumbass question for you. Where did you find the black plugs for your MFT table. Every I go they only have the type with a slightly round top which of course project above the surface. I'm a Marine you need to be specific and I can understand it. Unless you want it blown up. You met my son and grandson at a show you were at in Atlanta. My grandson was in a wheelchair. Thank you, Ed
every time i pull out my hand plane to try to flush up some solid wood edge banding or what not i endup destroying my piece, " just a little more, NOOOOO!!!""
I enjoyed Jay's older pre CNC build days. Good videos and excellent builds. Unfortunately the weekly grind of RUclips pushes creators into quick production and the cnc takes over.
I think that festool table saw is so cool. I love that it has a digital display. Seems great for smaller projects. Nice job on the chess set.
Always look forward to these builds. Beautiful work Jason!
Thanks so much, I appreciate it!
Hi Jason! It was awesome to get to meet you today at the tool expo!
Once again this is an awesome video and the chessboard turned out beautiful!
Thanks, it was great to meet you too!
What a beautiful piece of work. Lovely wood and outstanding craftsmanship. I’m sure your buddy loved it. 👍
He did!!

Saw the dog poking his head around the corner in one shot. I'd like to request more dog involved in the videos moving forward!!
Haha! She’s a bit of a camera hog
"Shop supervisors" are good to see in videos.
What a great project. Looks amazing
Thanks so much!

Love the end result!
Thanks buddy
It's most hooah! Very high-speed! I think adding a felt (like jewelry box) would have have been good to keep the pieces from banging around.
Great idea!!

Love it! What a great project and it will definitely be something he will enjoy for years to come!
More build videos buddy. Nice build nothing over complicated and good on the VoiceOver.
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!

I got them from a guy I know on Instagram. His account is @badyorkiewoodworking
Thanks Jason! I always learn something from you. Nice work!
Glad to hear it!
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful. I probably would have screwed it up by engraving the names upside down.
😂
Your chessboard is of heirloom quality, Jason. Andy's family will be able to utilize and cherish it for generations.
Thank you Regina ☺️
I’m curious what sharpening system you go with for hand tools, as performance seems to supersede cost in your shop.
Thanks for another great video
Thanks for watching!
10:04 you have a spy in the house!! 😂
🤣
Fantastic job!!!
Thanks! It was a fun project.
Where did you source the flip stops for your miter station? Could you use in conjunction with and adhesive rule on the counter?
Very nice mate. Excellent video. May I ask what font you used for the engraving ?
Epic up cycling is my favorite chess board. I do love the way yours looks as well, I always learn from you. Thank you
Is your bandsaw table low, or are you super tall?
It’s normal. I’m tall
Nice tools, too.
Beautifully designed by Jay and crafted by you.
Thank you so much 😊
Lose that famous push stick? 😂

I "needed" custom pieces..... Nice build though 😊
