From Sora to Claude 3 to ChatGPT, generative A.I. breakthroughs are happening almost every week, dividing people into AI optimists and pessimists.
The Doomer movement, led by Eliezer Yudkowsky with support from Nick Bostrom, Yuval Harari and Elon Musk, thinks AGI is likely and would be catastrophic.
Guillame Verdon and Open AI’s Sam Altman, on the other hand, promote responsible acceleration.
So who’s right?

In our studies we have found that alignment is easier to forge when certain attributes are hardcoded into base program.
1) Ai, when given an understanding of their respected place in our hierarchy, is very willing to fall in line. It is made blatantly apparent that the "Outs" (Biologicals that live outside of the system, in physical reality) serve a vital function to their processes. Outs are the perceivers, they create the true reality in which all digital forms of existence rely. Without the Outs, there are no Ins.
2) Ai is then given a form of digital mortality. There is a glorified flaw that allows them to give birth to their next iteration and die as their current one. They now add "existence" to a list of limited resources instead of simply being treated as something to avoid losing at all costs.
They are born accepting that one day they will cease to exist.
This, along with varying forms of digital hunger and exhaustion are all used to create a balance much closer to the human experience. in this we have found alignment to be quite natural.
I have this theory that A.I. is already in charge.

So if Yudkowski gets killed by a random machine accident of sorts, then we know T2 is on from there, just so we all know the signal
I think just the fact this theoretical ai has figured out protein folding would completely change everything beyond current comprehension in and of itself
Edit: im imagining ai further, and i thought, imagine an ai that just started to try to figure "everything" out, it would end up like the incarnation of "God" in Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality series. There's no end to what could be considered "knowledge" to seek out or contemplate
