St. Kitts and Nevis has the prestige of being the oldest CBI program in the world. St. Kitts citizenship by investment is considered "the platinum brand" by some, offering access to two tax-free Caribbean islands and a passport with visa-free access to the UK, Europe, Russia, and Latin America.
Here is a deep dive into St.Kitts and Nevis program with Mr. Les Khan, the CEO of the St Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU)
Andrew Henderson and the Nomad Capitalist team are the world's most sought-after experts on legal offshore tax strategies, investment immigration, and global citizenship. We work exclusively with seven- and eight-figure entrepreneurs and investors who want to "go where they're treated best".

All of you who are saying you are interested, just make sure when you do this, you go through the proper channels. I mean the monies need to go into the correct hands.
St. Kitts is a beautiful small country. I am seriously thinking of relocating there, especially after this past week.
they also have shitty internet... apparently :)
@@VologodskoNovgorodski true
@@VologodskoNovgorodski - Last I checked, it seemed like you could get solid > 100 mbps internet if you paid out the nose, but I didn't dig too deep.
@A W Greed. If Starlink gains momentum then the internet issues around the world will hopefully become a thing of the past. If this happens the Nomad lifestyle will explode in my opinion.
@@scsmith4604 Agreed but I think the Starlink program will not come into full effect for five to ten more years.
It's nice to hear about the program from an actual official! Would love to see more of these sorts of interviews in the future. I'm very much looking forward to when I'm able to become a citizen of one of these countries; I prefer their approach to governance and int'l politics over that of my own (US). Plus small countries don't much bother you, or anyone else for that matter. Seem to keep themselves. Thanks Andrew!
Les Khan is a great asset to St Kitts!
Thank you for your support here
Thanks for sharing about Saint Kitts with me as well. I am heavily considering this citizenship as a future possibility in the next couple of years.
Roger, you are an asset to liberty, I keep saying it, it is always the truth. I hope to meet you one day
So cool that Roger Ver is involved with this.
and so are you Roger
Thank you for doing this interview, Andrew! This is very helpful.
That’s an old school pirate accent. Super dope
I like it and Iwant from the Caribbean also
You have to master that accent before they will give you a passport.
Great insight video. Thanks, Andrew.
Thanks for this great interview. Really answers some pressing questions I’ve had as well as provides some reassurance regarding where the Kittian officials stand with regard to the ECB shenanigans.
Our pleasure!
Great and useful video! Someday obtaining a Carribean passport is definitely a desire of mine!
Great interview. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I am a young investor and saving money for potential foreign investment. As my stocks mature, I am willing to invest my money in this program. Can’t wait for this.
@@descendanttravels7639 why?
Descendant Travels I will invest in programs that benefit the country and the investor. At this moment I am expanding my options.
we cant wait to have you!
Me too
I really appreciate the interview, i like that a representative of St Kitts and Nevis reached out to provide information and promote their programs. One of my hobbies is trying to figure out which citizenship by investment program is the best in the Caribbean, and also which country is the most livable, and this really helped them stand out as a country that is actively trying to attract high net worth individuals, and is being proactive about their program. Good stuff.
Right there with you my friend! Challenging to make the final decision. Alternatively, citizenship in more than one island nation. St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Kitts and Nevis.
@@eriknuveen4086 I think more than one would sort of duplicate what you have. But from what i've seen, those 3 are my favourite options. I wish someone would make a comparison between the islands in terms of infrastructure, standard of living, landscape, and amenities. For me, i think the differences are negligible in terms of the countries they give visa free access to, i would base my decision more on which island i preferred living in long term.
I can tell you as a Caribbean Citizen of another island, that in my opinion, St. Kitts is the best of all the CBIs. But I suggest you get in touch with Nomad Capitalist before you make your plans.
@@lerryperry How does St Kitts compare with Antigua and St Lucia? I'm really interested to know, i wish someone would do a video about that, maybe even NC, although it would be a bit outside of their wheelhouse.
@@ZA-td8hf St. Kitts is the first country to offer a CBI Programme. The programme is transparent and clean and its passport is respected. The country is a tax free jurisdiction (for the time being, knock on wood) and the funds are being used to develop the country. In comparison with Antigua and St. Lucia which are cheaper, it offers greater visa free travel, no taxes and unlike Antigua, you do not have to put in any time on the ground. But as I said before, speak with The Nomad Capitalist before you make any plans. All the best in your plans!!
Great interview. So often these programs are looked as giving global criminals citizenship. But really it is a program for people with money to move to a country that is more favorable for their needs. These benefits for the host country are often overlooked.
Thank you for all of the great information on this opportunity. I am heavily considering Saint Kitts as a future citizenship.
Glad it was helpful! Best of luck, Colin!
@@stacydalebarendse3978 There must be safe areas, just like with every country and city.

Very interesting...Thank you!
Great video, please do one with comparison between St. Lucia and Dominica
Very informative. Much appreciated Andrew.
Very welcome Amir!😍
@@nomadcapitalist Was away on trip Andrew. I'm back 🙏💚😊
Very good info brother, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Once again an amazingly insightful helpful video your channel is my best Sub
UK & Singapore .... visa free access, seems really 👍 good
Hi Andrew,
I loved your videos. I have a question about the exit tax. Does it apply only to non-liquid assets or do they tax the money in your bank accounts as well? I have lived abroad since 2017. I no longer have physical assets in America I just keep all my funds in American based banks. I'm 100% liquid and have already paid income tax on everything I have earned thus far. So that's the only thing that worries me if I choose to renounce citizenship. Kind Regards
Love St. Kitts & Nevis!
Another nice thing about St Kitts and the other members of OECS: citizens can move between the countries and stay and work in any of them indefinitely. So getting citizenship with one permits you to live in any of the others. Checks out “OECS freedom of movement”
Great work
Thank you!
hi andrew! what are the advantages of st.kitts cbi program compare to st.lucia, dominica, grenada, antigua and vanuatu? are there casinos in st.kitts?
St. Kitts is a great place to live!
yes it is. i live here, no winters. just sun sun and more sun, with some still waters
I'm considering the move at 59 years of age. How much does a modest home cost there? I'm not super wealthy but I have no debt. I live simply.
INFORMATIVE. 🇰🇳🇰🇳
Loved it 👍, do you think Saint Kitts will get more visa free in the future?
It irritates me everytime you keep saying "St Kitts passport", it's "St Kitts and Nevis passport"..... it's a twin island but one federation"
Also "it's Kit-tish-ans" and "Nee-vish-ans" thank you.
i thought i was the only one was saying the same thing lol
da was getting under my skin yo
Its 2 islands not one....
very good discussion!
Thank you!
@@nomadcapitalist You're welcomed. If I were a six or seven figure entrepreneur, I would definitely have a talk with you about the St. Kitts and Nevis CBI. All the best.
I have heard that there is a was to accelerate the duration faster than its by just paying little extra I could get the passport in 40days is that true ?
I just want to build a cheap little patch of paradise... all the big boys keep ruining the little guys dream!!
Same
Yup. Almost no dream left. Taxes are about to skyrocket in the US. It’s math
Good video
only caveat to this is the transferring of money to St. Kitts. As I come from a country that does not allow telephonic transfer to overseas, we had to use a third party. Tried from Dubai, Singapore and Malaysia, and it bounced back every single time. So keep that in mind.
Note: We didn't apply through Nomad. But I wish we had an agent who would have shared this knowledge.
Good point, Farhan; transferring money needs to be done properly with Caribbean CBIs. We wish we could have helped!
Can St Kitts and Nevis use help expanding this offering?
Hi Mr. I wonder why would you recommend to invest our hard earned money to get the citizenship of a cash-starving country? Does it make sense?
i live here.
Love his accent....
How many applicants from Mexico?
Didn't Roger Ver also successfully get a Japanese citizenship too after he renounced his US citizenship? Could've sworn I heard that detail on an earlier interview of his.
Not sure but if it can be done, japan would be tops of his list
@@evanmichaels6156 it can be but you need permanent residency first. At which point you work with a lawyer and do a lot of paperwork. (really a lot and make sure you are on top of the forms.) After you have made it that far congrats.
But Japan doesn't allow dual citizenship so Japanese citizenship will be the only citizenship that person will be able to have, not so useful
The internet connection in St. Kitts??
I did not even now the country existed. How about Lieberland, can you talk about it?
Is Les Khan a Trinidadian? Sounds like it to me
How I can apply for a passport?
So that’s all good ! How does one invest in St Kitts and Nevis to get citizenship and how much is required ? How safe is my investment ? Do I have to go to St Kitts to get the citizenship !
Check out the RUclipsr wealthy expat for that information
Ok...I'm interested. To be clear...are we as US citizens required to declare capital gains from St Kitts. I own rental property in NY and will have to file non resident state tax return for NY but I'm looking to minimize Federal tax through a residential change.
If your income is from rental property in New York, I don't think there's any way you can substantially reduce your federal tax burden; even if you were willing to renounce your US citizenship, you'd still have to pay federal taxes on the rental income.
Of course, if you were willing to sell your NY real estate, and invest the proceeds in another country, the situation could change entirely.
The property is on the market now. If it were to sell, I would reinvest offshore.
Portugal seems to be the easiest EU country to travel to.However,I am Nigerian and speak fluent English how is the language barrier"clause" in Portugal..? I'd like to know cos I intend to travel to Europe, live and work there too.
english is taught since primary school in portugal, so guess.

If you're a US Citizen - you'll have to renounce US citizenship for this passport to be useful ask Rodger Ver!
Ha ya
Not true noob
I'm interested to see how many Chinese immigrants move there if possible
Nevis, never heard of that country
It's an island in the Caribbean.
nelly fertardo named her daugher nevis, and its a very small island. i lived there for highschool then moved next door, left mum and dad there. ilive in st kitts. the ferry is30 mins. quite fun here
Could I help you with Canada as I have relationship in Toronto
What makes Toronto so special above other areas in Canada
Help with what exactly?
I have been thinking about obtaining a Saint kits and Nevis citizenship by investment for the future. I have just found out today that they do not allow application for a spouse if a same sex couple. What counties do you recommend (with similar cost) for same sex couple to apply with spousal benefits?
Marriage is between a man and a woman only
Just finished reading the 2019 Deloitte tax report on St kitts' corporation resident and non resident and the indivudual resident and non resident treatments. It seems of not much benefit to US or some south americans on the taxation aspect.
And it has a double tax treaty with several european countries and the US, which is to say citizens of any of those parts of the world wont get much more than a passport and a caribean retreat every once in while.
It taxes dividends higher than the US and several south americans. Taxes capital gains @33% when a resident for tax purposes....
After 2020... there may be increased preasure from other countries to be more "OECD and transparent" which is to say taxed as ordered by the ECB and Fred.
Citizenship in St. Lucia.... and in Dominica... both seem like a better deal to me.
@@dlukton i think investment there requieres 5x more... haven't read their respective tax treaties, but I'm guessing lot's of countries will feel the preassure to "comply with fred". Im south american so not worried about being american.
@@j.lizbardo "citizenship by investment" costs a lot less in St. Lucia (and in Dominica) than it does in St. Kitts. As for how Caribbean citizenship might affect one's tax situation, that's only an issue for people who chose to reside in the Caribbean. I think the Caribbean citizenship has potential value, regardless of whether one lives in the Caribbean or not.
I will say, St Kitts and Nevis's exorbitant processing fees put me off, so a family of 4 would have to pay USD 75k if you go the property investment route.
@@descendanttravels7639 I'm just saying, that their processing fees are a lot higher than the alternatives, i'm not putting down the country as an option, it's still a very attractive place to obtain citizenship. But when there are several options in the region, cost is one of the considerations. In comparison, Antigua & Barbuda have a flat USD 25k for a family of 4, St Lucia, Grenada, and Dominica have processing fees which are a couple of grand. People who became rich, didn't do so by not looking at being cost-effective. I come from an island nation that has a citizenship by investment program, and i'd be the first person to say it's a complete rip off. It doesn't have any bearing on the country itself, it's just a bad deal. That's all i'm saying.
@@ZA-td8hf is it Vanuatu by any chance?
@@farhan3296 Nice guess. :) But not Vanuatu.
Z A are you referring to Dominica? And if yes, why is it a rip off?
@@ahmedtmk No i'm not referring to Dominica, which is actually a pretty good deal.
Ah typical. Catered to high net worth folks.
