I clicked the video because the boat looked nice. I didn't expect the speaker to be so enthralling! I could listen to her all day. I want Carol Hasse to teach me about life. Her children are so lucky to have such a knowledgeable guide.
With all the crazies you see today, how refreshing to see and hear a Lady so grounded and confident and also humble and gracious. How wonderful to sit and just have a conversation with her.
I return to this video every few months to be encouraged by such a balanced spirit. Carol, and her Folkboat, are incredible examples of creation. This always reminds me that good design precludes good action, but it all starts with a thoughtful design. Blessings!
Ann Gash , in 1975 , sailed her folkboat from pittwater north of sydney right around the world .She returned to pittwater in 1977 . Ann Gash was an amazing woman and to sail a little folkboat right around the globe is an amazing testament to what a fabulous little vessel the folkboat is
What an incredibly cool lady. , she gives you the reminder that you shouldn't let the days playing with the boat get by you. Thank you for posting that.
Carol is truly one of the nicest people I know and "Lorraine" is lovely beyond description. I think Carol's boat reflects her as a person, which is to say, beautiful. Nice video.
Carol Hasse is a league of her own such beautiful love of sailing and a true Captain with such class and elegance would love to see her on a channel of her own with her sailing adventures to all the Sailors Captains Skippers and Crew may your journey and adventures be wonderful fun with fair winds with following seas.
This seems like the perfect mix. Such a homely feel to this boat, a wood stove and beer in the bilge, yet able to get out there and sail like a dinghy upriver and explore. Carol knows how to live her best life.
I’ve watched a lot of sailing videos in the last couple of months and this is easily the best use of time! So useful, informative and pleasurable to watch 😌
Nice to see Carol keeps the boat so nicely maintained. M Dad had a Danish Folkboat when I was young. I really hate clinker hulls, but it was a fantastic sailing boat.
Carol and Loraine are very inspiring personalities! This video once more shows clearly what I have always suspected: The smaller the boat, the bigger the fun... The folk boat seems like the minimum yacht you can have the maximum of fun, inspiration and relax on.... Good and safe journey, Carol and Loraine!
Beautiful folkboat. I've recently began studying these boats. Kind of a minimalist. I think I can live on one. I like them because they are heavy duty. Can stand up to alot and bluewater.
What a beautiful video. Carol’s words about her boat at the end of the video just about encapsulated everything about the beauty of wooden boats and our great privilege in the western world. I hope we can all enjoy it and not take it for granted x and pass this onto our children.
Carol Hasse built sails for two of my 7 boats over the years. They were beautiful! One was an all blue Drifter for my 4th sailboat an Ed Monk cutter, AURORA. Sailed her to Chatterbox Falls with my daughter for her high school graduation. My third boat was a "Frisco Flyer" the Hong Kong copy of the Folk Boat named STORM TREE. The moment I sold her, knew I would regret it the rest of my life.
My gal and I acquired the all teak 1957 Cheoy Lee folk boat Allegro last year and it was love at first sight. Seeing Carol give a well photographed tour of Lorraine is SUPER inspiring! I made a list of all her details... Aloha!
Oh Carrol...really admire you and your Nordic. Folkboats are a personal favourite, and it's great to see one so sorted. Love your cruising area too! Mine's Falmouth UK, which is pretty good.
Hello, Ma'am, I think I remember you from a Port Townsend Boat Festival some time in the 1970's. You were teaching a class on sail-making, as I recall, and I very much enjoyed it. It's good to see you are still involved in the maritime pursuits after all these years. I've been in and out of them for my life and I'm interested in building another boat to sail around St Augustine and points south. I wish you well.
I love this clip. I have watched it over and over again. As someone already mentioned, what a great boat and a what a great owner. This is what it's all about.
Your short video here is so inspiring as I have been a mid-westerner power boater all my 50 years but as I age I keep finding myself looking to the peacefulness of sailing and wanting to learn more sailboats. Such a large subject overall but you represent the Folk Boats so well.
What a great pleasure, and feeling of peace, to have, among us, you, a real treasure…may you sail, and sail for long to spread great feelings as you sail along…
yes folkboat what a great boat..had one back in the 70 s...lapstrak hull, nice cockpit and cabin.. did a lot of work on mine..have been a boat for over 45 years..when i started building boats they were wood,no fiberglas yet..did a lot of one offs..lofting new boats and plug building, for the fiberglas molds..going to work was never a job.. i really miss building the wooden boats though.. really enjoyed the vid
Thank you for showing me this boat. there is great pride and a love for your craft that is unmistakeable, which I appreciate. Loraine is a beautiful, simple and elegant craft with fine lines idea for travels throughout inter coastal waterways. Once again thank you for your show.
Great. Once in a while I fell sorry to see my cultural heritage "exported". Not this time. You are doing a splendid job at maintaining this simple and well thought out boat, while at the same time making it your own. I hope you'll both sail on forever. Salty greetings from a fellow sailor in Denmark :-)
"A gift beyond imagining." I love that.
This video is a gift, 1 in 1,000. Carol Hasse's vast knowledge and authority is exceeded only by her humility and grace. Thank-you.
I could listen to her all day

What a wonderful humble inspiring lady.

Although clearly possessing vast sailing knowledge, you exude a casual humility that is refreshing. Thanks for the video!
I exuded this morning.
I feel great.
I imagine I could listen to you the whole day. With humility and calmness, the love of your life speaks so very clear. True happiness shining through.
The sailing romantic in me just gushed over this wonderful glimpse into the life of a master sailor in a beautiful boat.
Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful! Lady. Boat. Video. BRAVO! Three thumbs up.
Beautiful, both boat & person. Happy sailing.
This woman's boat looks like a museum piece
Beautiful Boat Thanks for the tour
Carol is truly one of the nicest people I know and "Lorraine" is lovely beyond description. I think Carol's boat reflects her as a person, which is to say, beautiful. Nice video.
Not only is the boat put together but so is the owner. Great video...Thank You.
I really admire this person and their vision.

that "cold beer locker" i salute you captain. love your boat and all the brass work>

If I ever sell my current sailboat. I'm going to get a folkboat love the way they look ♥️♥️
good choice
Lovely. Both the boat and the owner!

Watched this video four times till today and enjoyed it every time.

Carol has a delightful voice and way of speaking. Loraine is beautiful yacht.
Truly a wonderful boat and a delightful skipper to see owning her. Both are beautiful
The folkboat is definitely a beautiful boat, lovely sheer line, love the lapstrake hull, in all a beautifully proportioned boat all round
squared away boat....truly admirable. thank you
My gal and I acquired the all teak 1957 Cheoy Lee folk boat Allegro last year and it was love at first sight. Seeing Carol give a well photographed tour of Lorraine is SUPER inspiring! I made a list of all her details... Aloha!

This woman is a bloody treasure.
I especialy loved the 3x3 inch "vanity area". Who needs more? Gorgeous!
Been "steady on the path" of life. Well said! Thank you for this inspiring video, boat, and person.

Inspiring, I love the Nordic Folkboat and Carol's whole approach is wonderful.
It’s no wonder at all that she feels comfortable in her boat; forty two years after all. A lot of thought has gone into the kit here.
beautiful restoration of a timeless classic.
Lovely boat and a lovely woman - living my dream!
Best sails you can buy, period!! Best of all, all the people working there are first class human beings. Great service, great people 🙌🏻🙌🏻❤️
Brilliant, love Carol and Lorraine 🙂
Just beautiful! What grand adventure!!
The legendary nordic folkboat, What a beautiful boat you got there... Here is Sweden there is plenty of those still running and shining as new.
What a great video and extraordinary individual - Thank you both!
Wow. I've never seen such a small boat so comprehensively equipped.

Pretty cool boat. Lots of simple but very efficient/effective systems.
I love this dedication, magic boat!!!!
Haven’t been blue water sailing in 23 years. Makes me wanna go!
Started with a Van De Stadt Pandora 22', now a old Victoria 34. Great Vid.
Wonderful boat, wonderful interview.
