When it was decided to take her off life support, I was holding the hand of her husband as Betty took her last breath. This is true, but I don't think that there was anything in Clare's comment which implied that emotion was being set forth as the basis for one's relationship with God. Scripture is filled to the very top with expressions of emotion- emotion which does not form the basis of one's devotion to God but exists together with it as its natural counterpart. If one's bond with one's spouse is based only on how one feels at the moment, then the bond can break swiftly. But to feel nothing at all towards one's spouse is unhealthy.

This hymn to me is one of the greatest hymns ever written and I believe all in Heaven revel in glory every time it is played on this Earth.
