Beautiful footage. No Rufous-throated Partridge at hide? Never been to this hide but couple of time at Christian Ashram hide with similar birds.. You got some amazing footage of green magpie. Well filmed👍👌👌
Thank you! Nope, it was the second species the hide was known for (the Green Magpie was the first), but *something* percieved as a threat just MUST have made a stakeout close to the feeding area. Like a raptor perched in one of the trees in the surrounding forest, or a cat behind that wall where the food is laid out, or or or... well, something we didn't see but the birds saw. Because after 8:45 AM no birds came, not even the doves, and it wasn't because there were no food. There were plenty of food left. We decided we might as well leave, bcs staying in the hide became a waste of time. I was very disappointed bcs that would've been one of the few Lifers for me on this trip. And I love partridges/any wildfowls actually. But, that's life... And I'm happy for those seconds of Green Magpie on video, even though I filmed with the Canon 7D Mark II and it's a bitch to film with. The autofocus is *very* keen on jumping off target, as you might've noticed.
This was an organized trip with Rockjumper Birding Tours. They do all the planning, one pays the price to join, there is an minimum and maximum number of participants. Too few, the trip is cancelled (or sometimes it will still be on, if one agrees to a higher price per person... as we had to do for the extra days in Gujarat... which turned out to be a lot of money for a lot of grief, really = see the last part of this video series. Well, we still got our Target Birds, so it was worth it!)
Wow, amazing, thank you!
