    Buying a luxury bag is the stupidest investment. I personally don't think it's worth spending so much money on a bag. It is better to invest in gold. Of course I also like those big-name bags. But I couldn't bear to give up the money. So all my bags are replicas of H Q D U P S.

    They sell art; more than just the sum of the parts. The subhuman working conditions of manufacture is terrible and should be addressed.

    Well, I think we're looking at it too simply at production. There are more that goes behind. Designers, workmanship techniques, marketing, import and export. But really, abusing labours are the worst and for a luxury house to do that. Poor execution Dior..

    None of these designer items are worth what people pay for them in workmanship or material , you are buying the name and the snob factor that goes with it . Does anyone actually think it costs Hermes $ 10,000 to make a bag ....... no !

    Not gonna lie. I OWN the authentic in that same exact color and I STILL got it wrong! And I even use the bag every single day! Only goes to show how damn good these MoMcoco are visually. Now guessing which is the fake by feeling them both in my hands is another story.

    the dior bag you showed is not the bag that costs $57 to make. its the fabric tote that costs that. the $57 is only for the sewing of the bag, not the materials its made of. a professional on their own could sew 10 bags in one day. thats $570 a day wages. thats really good money. i wish people would educate themselves on how fashion is actually made.

    • @blueberryinsights
      @blueberryinsights  18 дней назад +4

      Thank you for your comment. The investigation specifically referred to leather handbags, not fabric totes. The $57 cost was for producing leather bags that retailed for around $2,780. You're correct that the $57 doesn't include raw materials like leather. It represents the production cost paid to suppliers. The claim of 10 bags per day seems optimistic for high-end leather goods.since their production usually requires time-intensive processes.
      The $570 daily wage calculation is misleading. This was the amount paid to the supplier company, not directly to individual workers.

      @@blueberryinsights you are incorrect. the only bag featured in this controversy is the Small Dior Book Tote which costs $2750 and is fabric with calf leather trim. i am a professional haute couturier and i know how things are produced high end. there is a production line in small factories. One receives the pre bundled pieces from the house and applies interfacings . the back and front and sides are sewn together on industrial Juki machines (incredible quick will take 15 min total) then pased to the person who sews on the leather trim (10 min work). then passed to the person who sews the linings and facing (10 min work) then to the person who attaches the handles ( which are made in 5 min) and the lining to the outer bag (4 min) and then sent for clipping threads and steaming (3 min). multiply that by a minimum of 5 stations each at 45 min max for each bag to be constructed including breaks would average about 40 bags per day produced. as for the time intensive process, the only difference between a high end garment and a low end garment in the same fabric is the stitch length set on the machine. high end production is set at 2.2 on the stitch length of the machine. lower end are stitched at 3.2. this means that sewing is done quicker but is less strong. i suggest you youtube a few industrial manufacture videos and watch how simple it is to construct things on a production line.
