I like the clone button but wish I could clone as built as well, not just clone the initial default. When building a house they insist on going through the future gate, not across the barren land, so gate placement is important for a speedier build. I tried building houses farthest away first so not to impede their travel. Didn't help. They would not travel through any barren land identified in the build queue. I even tried putting that piece of land on hold but they still went around it. So once a piece of land has been marked for a building, it cannot be crossed. If you're looking for a measuring stick, you have one pretty much from the beginning -- reforestation in the forestry, the first building you build. As you draw one of its sides, it shows the measurement. Cancel at the point you want. If you need a length longer than 50, cancel at 50 and then click to start up again at the same spot. Later on, you can also use the field button in the farm the same way or pasture in the sheds. I really think fence should do the same. Nice to see that trader icon pop up when I've goofed up and need to something I just ran out of, but if he's coming to my port, he really should be in a boat, not on a horse.
I agree with the clone button. It should clone the shape of the building already present. But don't know how easy that is to code. But that would be helpful. People will indeed not travel through future planned buildings. Only sometimes with rowhouses they will walk right through. Not really looking for a measure stick. All is fine this way for me. Can build great towns with all I have present at the moment! Btw, the trader via the river comes with a boat. So that is no issue...
@@Thefirsttimebinder Yes I heard that before, but did not take the time to observe closely. But people will actually pick fruits from decorative apple/cherry/apricot trees and eat them or turn it into dried fruit?
@@PatmosIV My experiment with 20 years of decorative cherry and apricot was that I never collected any. I had hoped that villagers would pick from fruit trees on the paths outside their homes but didn't in my game. Ended up using them all for wood when I ran out of forests. Maybe a different version?
@@tmg7476 Well the rumor is going around for a while now that villagers will gather from random fruit trees, but I've never seen it. Guess I will have to run a full scale test and see.
@@PatmosIV Please. I read it too so tried and I was not successful. But with updates so frequent, it could be that. Or I could have made a mistake. I'd love for it to work.
Well that is up to you! Build a town up to 1500. Is different then 900. Build a town with only garden houses, build a town without any gardenhouses. Build a town fully focussed on agriculture. Build a nice looking town with rowhouses and a church etc and full deco’s. Build a town with only max garden houses and rowhouses. So many goals you can think of!
awesome video
Thank you !!
