- Teenage sprinter Gout Gout entered the record books after breaking one of Australia's most famous records at the All-Schools Championships in Brisbane.

The 16-year-old clocked 20.04 seconds in the men's 200m final, breaking the national record set by Peter Norman when he won silver at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico. Gout's 200m time was also the fastest ever by a 16-year-old and the second fastest by an athlete under the age of 18 - behind Erriyon Knighton's 19.84 as a 17-year-old in 2021

Never I thought that we would see this but I agree he is only 0.85secs off Usain’s 200m WR. If he stays healthy he will occupy the 100-200 double WR.
Seems like the 100m will be harder for him to break. He has insane maximum velocity phase. When he puts the after-burners on nobody is close.

Seems like a really smart lad hopefully will keep developing.
He's a very fortunate young man ya know he almost lost his legs and was told he'd never walk again less run or sprint because he had a really bad case of gout in his legs caused by eating rich food and drinking port. He stopped eating and drinking that way and became healthy again and started running. After he got better he changed his name to Gout Gout to remind him of how lucky he is and to remind him of the dangers. He sells QC Sherry now when he's not training.
With the right guidance he can win olympics gold in the future.
