Rowe, you have done it again. That was an amazing story. It gave me pretty bad anxiety LOL. Really didnt expect the tie in of the crew of Yankee Chaos. I feel like "The Yankee chronicles" could and should be an HBO mini-series. Well done sir. (hands clapping)
@@eriknulty6392 Thanks, Erik! Glad you found it so. I think sometimes as the writer knowing the outcome is easier than being a reader who can't help but stress about what's going to happen--at least on behalf of the characters. I never know how readers will react to the story though 😀If there's a producer out there who agrees with you, a conversation can be had 🤣
I’m a recent follower and fan of your writing and I enjoy your work immensely! Currently I am working my way through, catching up with what I’ve been missing. Question though, about where in the Misfits story timeline does this story, Surety, fit?
@@phillipchase4491 Hi, Phillip! Glad to hear you're enjoying the channel 😃Not to spoil recent Misfits episodes, but this story's timeline and the timeline for Misfits are getting close to crossing. They haven't yet, though. Hope that helps (without it being a spoiler).
Well this was another great story. I don't think enough people want to acknowledge that these things happen far too often. Thank for this story. Very heart-wrenching. I am grateful to writers like yourself who write soldiers as selfless and of good morality. Unlike avatar, my kids hate that movie because they see it as anti military and there for anti dad and his old war scarred friends lol. Have you read Robert A. Heinlein's Citizen of the Galaxy? Your story made me reflect on it as well as real life.
Thanks, SC. I'd say I've read "some" Heinlein, but not all of his works, and not Citizen. I will try to check it out. The one drawback to writing so much (if there is one) is that I hardly have any time to read these days. I think if I had to put my finger on why these military characters (at least on my end and seemingly yours) aren't anti-military is that I write primarily to ask questions rather than make statements (usually--don't eat bugs being an obvious exception 😂). But on my end that starts from a place of respect for every character--genuinely trying to envision their worldview rather than taking a position on it. That way I'm not forcing them into anything that (at least I think) doesn't seem organic for them. That's an aspiration anyway. Whether I'm successful or not at it isn't really for me to say, but I think it's a good headspace to start from--at least for me. The moustache-twisty villain isn't nearly as compelling for me as the one I can look at and think, "I really hate what this character is doing, but I can see where they're coming from."
@@RoweLit Well, I think you are doing a great job. I like how your stories have progressed showing the tough vets will follow a young women. Vets don't need to be the figure head, having proved themselves to each other they don't feel the need to continue to do so. Recognizing an influential person and giving them their support when they share morals and goals with you is a natural thing, especially for a veteran. The age, sex or physical stature really doesn't matter, as long as they will get the job done. From the veteran's point of view, The character's are developing wonderfully. People really are more afraid of blades than guns lol. You and I however, have enough medical knowledge to know that a GSW has far more lethal potential than most wounds inflicted by a blade. Yet, most will shy away from the knife and think they can deal with a person just holding a gun. The tactical Tomahawk still holds its own on the battlefield today. I wouldn't be upset to see them emerge into your universe lol. Perhaps the hammer/spike end would be well suited for knocking bots circuits loose or armoured human adversaries lol.
