Who she is and what she is doing is simple: She's an opportunist!!!! What she is trying to do, at least in my opion, is to position herself in a place of power. By holding these pieces of legislation hostage as it were, or being one of the only two "No" votes when it's voting time, she is positioning herself in a place power. She doesn't give interviews to the press or explain her position to senior Democratic members because she has no legitimate argument or position to oppose these pieces of legislation. Why else wound't she do interviews, meet with senior Democrats to explain her position, or answer to representatives of her state begging for her to change her position. Not to mention the fact that veterans of her staff left en masse because of her actions. Quite aware of her party's razor thin majority in the Senate they need her vote. It's a power play, plain and simple. She's betting that this tactic of her's will elevate her to a position of power within the party.

Kyrsten Sinema is like Alcibiades: she peeked behind the veil of Isis and saw that American society and its power structure present a prisoners' dilemma and that there's no point in being moral if hardly anyone else in power is. From her own activist, campaigning, and legislative experience, I think she also saw that in the corporatocracy, the causes that she aligned herself with (and was maybe once earnestly committed to) always lose, as in, are not allowed to win. So, like Alcibiades, she sold herself to the highest bidder. I've read she thinks she's very smart. She teaches courses in Tempe on fundraising and writing grants. What I've learned is that these people aren't all that smart and don't actually get that much in terms of cash, at least, for selling the rest of us (and the planet) down the river. What they get is the security they deny us: sinecures that buy summer homes and elite college tuitions if they have kids. Her past is key to understanding her ambitions: a child of a broken home, she admits she's been a class aspirant since high school; now she's moving up to dwell amongst the swells. Get the picture? But, unlike Sinema, Alcibiades wanted to be bigger than the doting, smothering mother that was 5th c. BC Athens; he was a student of Socrates and was practicing the radical subjectivity he interpreted as the Socratic ideal. In that way, he was a world historical figure. Sinema just wants to be on the winning team. What else is new?
I think it's completely possible that Kyrsten Sinema is genuinely becoming more and more conservative as time goes on. She might even switch parties at some point.

There’s hardly a better real-life example of someone falling to the Dark Side
She is a two faced liar. She was the lesser of the two evils. She will be a one term Senator. She totally misrepresented herself. We in Arizona can’t stand her.
10:14 "Sinema's political transformation seems complete. She's been able to advance her political career through gravitating towards what's important to the American people..."
WHAT?? That is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what she did?? Wtf how can you end on that conclusion???? 😳😳😳😤😤
At least make it clear she only PRETENDS to gravitate towards what's important to the American people. Now you made it seem she REALLY does that, when she does the EXACT OPPOSITE, like voting down 15/hr min wage, voting for Wall Street deregulation,... UGH 😩😫😤😤
You had a good segment going and it got ruined right at the end. I can't understand.
This isn’t journalism. This is a progressive hit piece.
@Nicholas Isgar and what proof do you have that prove this to be a “hit piece”?
Give me evidence on the contrary lol.
👸Kyrsten Let Them Eat Cake Sinema🎂
She was never a progressive she just knew that's what people wanted so she joined the bandwagon until she was in office then her true colors came out
Great, thank you for having the guts to bring it as it is. 👍👏👏
Such a disappointment to see someone with the potential to be great become a sellout of the lowest order.
100 pairs of shoes!! I have two and it’s enough
As a former Arizonan who might be homeless I still support Sinema
Honestly, you can't explain that just with money. This is so much betrail of her own beliefs.
money and power and privilege.
Maybe she really didn't hold those beliefs. Sociopaths tend to pretend at being human.
How on earth did she get to be a senator ? it looks like the signs of how much of an obstructionist shed be we're already there
Selling your soul for the almighty dollar.
Thanks for the post. A brave and true patriot.
This is depressing
She’s a senator whom now represents lobbyists.
She had morals, but then money became more important to her. So sad for us all.
Just read about who she is getting money from and be very very comfy with it> She learned how to be soul void.
I think it's completely possible that Kyrsten Sinema is genuinely becoming more and more conservative as time goes on. She might even switch parties at some point.
