    The annoying thing about motion sickness is that if someone has never had it it's impossible for them to understand just how painful and revolting it is to be sick

  • @saloon241
    @saloon241 7 лет назад +29

    I have pretty bad motion sickness to, you don't get it when you're driving because you brain knows it should feel a motion. It gets confused if you are doing something else and it can't tell that you are actually moving which causes you to feel sick. The best thing if it's not to severe is pressure point bands and looking forward. Don't try to read or play a game on your phone for extended periods of time.

    Frequent nausea/ vomiting of any kind sucks and is miserable, I hope she can find a good solution! Dramamine, acupressure bracelets, ginger candy, and smelling peppermint oil are just a few things that may help and she should keep puke bags in the car, I've found carrying a roll of doggy bags is the best way it's easy to keep with you everywhere so you always have one I also have a service dog so I carry them anyway haha I have a rare genetic condition that has caused a number of other serious incurable chronic illnesses one of them being complete digestive tract paralysis. my stomach and small intestine are both completely paralyzed so I rely on TPN (IV nutrition) that goes through a central line in my chest straight to my heart and IV medications I cannot eat or drink or take anything orally if I do I vomit it up instantly but even if I don't I still vomit multiple times every single day and have since birth it sucks but I'm so used to it by now. Remember H.O.P.E hold on pain ends💕

    I have it too, I take nausea medication for every car ride, and I still get sick all the time. The medication mostly keeps me from throwing up, but I feel so nauseous and dizzy, and I start shaking so bad, I often have trouble standing and walking afterwards because my legs are so weak and shaky.
    I've learned to ignore it if it isn't too bad, I may be swaying a bit and I may have to hold onto walls on my way, and I tend to collapse the minute I enter my home and lay on the floor if I can't make it to my bed, but I don't fancy sitting or lying on the sidewalk, doesn't feel safe

    I have it and it sucks so much. I wish I could be someone who reads on the bus...but that's an instant trigger. Drinking espresso and not having breakfast is another trigger. If I start feeling it....i usually get that salty taste in my mouth like I drank a tiny bit of ocean water. Then I'll start drooling. And worst is dry heaving.

    I had a really bad incident with motion sickness when I was on vacation this summer. My stomach started hurting, then the feeling of throwing up came to my chest, then my mind started to go blank, I couldn't see for about a minute, I started to shake, I went numb, and then when I was able to see again and I wasn't blanking my entire body was cramping. We pulled over and I fell over on the ground but somehow didn't throw up. I was shaking so much and the cramping hurt so much.

I can relate what Rosie felt, it is something going on your belly and your throat that force you to throw up. And the worst part is having a migrain. I look like a dead person when i'm in car cuz i'm gonna be so silent and not moving at all. It feel so bad. I hate going with a car lol

    I get motion sickness on the swing now. Ugh. But I find if I put a sour food in my mouth like a candy it prevents my nausea when in motion. It seems that it makes me salivate and activates gastric juices in the stomach. I also theorize extra low blood pressure predisposes me to motion sickness.

      Me too! Ive had counselling which has helped a bit with my anxiety caused by emetophobia. It’s stopped me from doing many things, like going to public restrooms since I’m terrified someone will bust in needing to v*mit. Also the fact that there might be germs everywhere. I also can’t eat in restaurants or eat food that I don’t know is safe. It’s stopped me from travelling and I honestly can’t see myself ever stepping foot on a plane, especially not a boat.

    Tip for those who suffer from motion sickness! Bring some cotton balls/pads and a bottle of isopropyl/rubbing alcohol. Pour some alcohol on the cotton and take a few good sniffs every couple of minutes. The smell of rubbing alcohol, while not pleasant, can help to tamp down nausea. I've done it while having to drive somewhere with food poisoning. Worked like a charm!

    I suffer from this it is terrible and I had it since i was a baby. When I started driving I thought I was cured, but every time someone drove it started again. I also suffer from hyperemesis gravidarum which also made my pregnancies unbearable. I just cannot deal with smell, fragrances, odour; soap, cream, makeup and sometimes bad colour combo triggers mine.
