=== I accept donations now, go to boosty.to/yuri... to support me with funds, while it is still available in Russia. Yes, you've heard it right, I live in Russia with beautiful nature and great history, and I like to bring you the interesting content on RUclips and other platforms :) ===
Frank Klepacki: "Sorry that you got Covid and had to go through that, but I am glad that you recovered, and we are productive on top of that! Your ear is very good, and your mixes and instrument quality has improved as well, so nice job on both Tension and Lone Troop remakes!"
This old version was a pretty entertaining experiment with sounds that I had at that time. Started months ago and then finished the remake. Roland sounds are not used, except some looped sound that you already know about, it is a sample from Zero-G libraries. Here I've tried to bring my personal vision of original composition. Not quite simple task, but indeed I got rewarded well at the end. I like to make good and funky ends, honestly. Maybe, even more emphasized than track in overall... well... still good :D
But I think it's missing something... YES, WE NEED MORE BEATS!!! I already reworked this melody and made it as close to original as I could, but left all those existing funky sounds as they are. It's lost that retro feeling a bit, but in a good way. You can listen to remaster here: • Tiberian Sun - Lone Tr...

    P. S.: Take care and stay safe, and MOST important thing - get vaccined. Feeling sick is bad, but feeling sick three times is the worst. But I thank God that I survived first waves of Covid-19, then each covid form after, and once again and will always be ready to create.

Every now and then, RUclips still gives me a great recommendation.
Nicely done. In some ways, this actually sounds more 90s than the original, and I absolutely love it. Glad the Tiberian Sun soundtrack still has people who actively listen and remake it when possible. Keep up the great work.

I heard a few excellent remixes of Lone Trooper, it's my favourite song on the Tiberian Sun OST. I like how the different remixes all emphasise different aspects of the track, and this one happens to emphasise the parts of this track that I like the most. This sounds very authentic, it's faithful to the original while also incorporating new elements. Nicely done!

And the most important thing that I composed and recorded everything from scratch, except that pulsing loop. It was quite a long adventure, there were few failed takes before I did this. Tiberian Sun OST is really hard to repeat and I am not professional, but you mentioned right that I like to emphasis some places in the track, making them more bright or more heavy or squishy. You can see that in each cover or even own c&c-inspired music that I ever made. (For example, I have bunch of Red Alert looking melodies that repeat the same mood as it was in earlier works of Frank, and people even suggested to convert some of them, including "Wind In West Depot", to low quality mono as it was in 90s).

The beginning and some parts in melody will be changed closer to original, plus I want to introduce something new. There is still a lot of work with other soundtracks, and as the time goes, I am continuously analysing music from another composers as well. Just not ready for it.

I ... still prefer the original. Probably nostalgia weighing in to much.
I can only commend how skillful this is, its a smooth and clean soundtrack, very well made.

It is always hard to repeat the same sound, yes. Especially when it goes to Tiberian Sun, that approach is unique. That is also why I choose precisely what can I repeat, but not the overall track, just some portion of it, and see what can I contribute. That's what happened and what happens with all my remakes.

Yes, I am working on new version, there should be more accurate beginning of the track and also some parts which I really want to finally fix, as I got my hands on old sounds thanks to Lupus Mechanicus and some Internet archives. Not sure how long it will take, as some instruments are still missing, even with my efforts, but I am sure I will find alternatives to those parts which were used by Frank Klepacki himself. Even for today on my second SSD it is good, but I think I should rework it a little bit further for more clean and refreshed sound.

Added original beginning (not cut, but re-made it from samples) and the culmination in the middle, I think it is pretty finished now: ruclips.net/video/5BSBrw5S-Ko/видео.html

While Frank Klepacki is still with Cubase, I prefer Fruity-Loops Studio since 2009. More stability on low-end PCs, especially tiny laptops, I still use Windows XP on my tiny old Acer laptop from the 2000's, and FL Studio is a true lifesaver. VSTs nowadays are mostly similar, I love Native Instruments, Dune, Roland-like sounds and Kontakt as well as Frank does. Not because I want to be as close as possible to the original feeling and instruments, but because I grew up from these. The difference is only between versions. For example: I did not know what Frank used for 8-Bit series, yet at the same time period we both began to use SAS Dune independently from each other, I used the first version for "Imaginary Frontiers" album, and Frank used second version for upcoming "8-Bit Invaders" soundtrack which I did not hear. I did not expect him using the same VSTi, that was like just "wow... really?" Funny story, yet may be applied to any instrument which I chose as part of my gig in general, I go in parallel direction, but more different.
