@@TomMorrison For real man. I'm a trainer from RSA. Your content is in my top 5 online resources. Simple direct and effective. I've referenced your stuff for many of my clients. I especially like your advanced deadbug stability drill. Thank you.
The breathing trick works because your entire body and nervous system naturally relaxes when you breath out. It's also how you can sink further and further into static stretches. (Breathe in the position, then exhale and let your body sink further in as you exhale. You WILL feel yourself relax, even if you thought you were relaxed before)
You are such a blessing in my life. I am a better person for knowing you. Thank you for your discernment in how to use the body for all your movement stimulation’s for health.
I’ve been trying your hanging shoulder rotation stretch. Omg it hurt so much at first. But now I see what you’re saying about strengthening that natural shoulder rotation. It has helped with so many other exercises.
My 2 cents (30 yrs bodyworker) Working on both simultaneously and gently, listening to how you feel as you go. No force- but the squeeze is great- make sure you’re spending some time in belly breathing (not too forced- more to keep out of sympa thetic/fight or flight tone) love Tom’s stuff!! Referring clients to vids almost daily…👏🎉🙌🙏 Alternating lengthening and rotating, a little of each going back-and-forth might just be a magic combo . But stay present and chill…
I’d be interested in your take on how to keep issues from the shoulders of someone with Polands syndrome. I have defects I worry may cause issues in my later years. I’m 34 and have some education in exercise science. But no one knows what to do for me.
Am I supposed to be feeling this in my shoulderblades/mid-back? Because I can never seem to activate and feel these muscles, no matter how hard I try and my thoracic spine is almost totally stuck... Awesome content though, pal, bought SMM and the progress is slow, but definitely there 💪🏻
@TomMorrison aaaah, top banana, Tom, just checked the video out and will definitely be adding these to my daily routine! You're a legend, keep up the good work, lad 💪🏻
Tom I need a little help with the wrists brother. I messed them up training really hard... the wrist vein beeping and my grip strength has gotten weaker a lot. I have been stretching the fingers and all but I still feel this pinch and soreness on the bone of my palm.
Do you have any advice on sleep positions as an automatic side sleeper or will it just get easier as we work on this? I wake up so crunched up in the morning and can't get myself to sleep on my back. Horrible costochondritis pain. Love yoooooou. 😅
My physical therapist had me doing almost the exact same exercise except with my hand on the back of my neck and i bring my elbow to the opposite knee after the extension
How do I start building up to twisting. I have moderate scroliosis and twisting in any type of exercises is instant week or 2 of intense ice\heat and resting recovery. I can do planks going from forearms to hands\arms extended and 1 hand extended like superman. But twisting... idk
Hips back helps to keep the lower back a little more from joining in, can do it in either position tho, practicing isolating the thoracic spine is key, you want to get to a point where you’re able to just twist the bits you want to twist
Yes, also try it seated too, just straight upright, spines have so much capacity for movement so don’t be afraid to mix it up and combine different versions 🙌
Totally missing the point of the exercise, this is purely for thoracic rotation and extension which will make all of those movements you mentioned safer and better.
@@TomMorrisonYeah for sure, I mean your content for mobility is great and it's helping people. My meaning is just that if people were just doing yoga as a complement to their workout, they'll de-facto get all of these mobility exercises :D
Love your channel, love your vids but my guy…why are you doing all of this in jeans, and skinny ones at that. You help so many people get more comfortable but I know you can’t be comfy doing all that stretching in jeans. Send me your PO Box and let me get you some sweatpants or something lol
Probably have to do it daily for awhile. It’s going to take time to reverse years of tightness and maybe some bad posture. Do it for at least a week before deciding
Keep this man safe. An international treasure.
😄 aww Thankyou so much!

Yup! 🙌
Love this, already started incorporating this in my daily routine
This breathing mobility technique works extremely well. BKS Iyengar taught this technique as an essential element of Hatha Yoga.
Your exercises help with my broken clavicle recovery.
Awesome to hear! The resistance bands playlist will be great for you to go through!
You’ve opened up my mind on a better use of torque

Pure genius

Does this directly address kyphosis?. I feel like hunch over posture and being stuck is affecting my breathing.
Yes this is your first steps, our banded push pull exercise and hanging are also great to add

You’re very welcome!! It’s such a game changer!
Hi Tom. Love the way you teach
This exercises are exactly what I need. How many times I have to do it each side ?
I’m so grateful
Happy to hear!! There’s lots on our playlists too!
Probably the only ordinary dood I've seen do this shit in a pair of jeans!
So many reasons as to why I've signed up ;)
Awesome! Say hello in the group and let us know how your first run through goes!!
new sub brother!! 🎉🎉🎉
Yay! Thankyou! Our playlists have specific areas for anything you need 😄

it can be hard to contorl how you sleep, so the best way we've found is to work on your mobility while you're awake then yoou can sleep how you like 😄
@@TomMorrison thank you! I assumed that was the case. You and Jenni are so helpful.

could you do this for my preschoolers
Our content is made for adults, hopefully they can pass it on to the kids in their own style 💪
is this some thing i should do mutiple times daily? Also should I always follow up the zenith rotations with the second drill?
Yeah if you can that's the best way to make a change by doing it regularly! Just the Zeniths is good 😁
nice stretch
Breathe into the chest? Or diaphragmatic breaths??
Think more about filling the lungs and expanding the ribs with this one
I feel my left shoulder blade pinching. Any ideas?
Possibly just keeping practicing Zeniths will be all you need otherwise try these moves too! ruclips.net/user/shortsyUQ-yYzdI8k?si=6wsTZ_5skB8KWhoV
Just started watching, every video is spot on
Thanks so much!
Dont u want your hips in line or over knees to target snd isolate the T spine? Asking thought so. Thx?! Idk

Crazy k cool try that with opening front line chest hips over knees like in puppy dog pose?
Yes, also try it seated too, just straight upright, spines have so much capacity for movement so don’t be afraid to mix it up and combine different versions 🙌
Merci, bro
Man I was a surfer and certainly had my moments, my peaks but now in my mid fifties I’m like wood-old injured wood-so let’s go
🙌
Would this help costocondritis please ?
Bit of a tricky one, it may prevent future flare ups but if it’s currently painful it may be too much to try at the moment
@@TomMorrison thank you. It's only painful when sneezing and certain movements so I'll give it a bash ! Thanks again 😊
Man I hope this is true
Stick to it twice a day for a few months 🙌 don’t hope, work at it! 😄
abdominal breath?
You gotta love the Scottish accent
Absolutely love you Tom. If you ever go gay, hit this fruit up! 🍇💯
Just tried it and was shocked how limited my was. Yikes.
Can't see this replacing bent over rows, pull-ups and pull-downs anytime soon😅😹☝️

Yep yep yep
If you wanna show your strength, go bald
If you wanna show your wisdom, dont shave, ever
Basically do yoga 🧘
Not if you don’t want to really, not a lot of people have interest in yoga so just knowing a couple of good stretches is important

Science based lifter 😂
Yoga fam.
Love this dude! But how is he doing all this in street clothes? Either way, I am here for the exercises.
Just to make the point that mobility stuff isn't 'fitness' and you can do it no matter what you're wearing!
Lord Jesus Christ loves you all ❤

Thank you! They're stretchy jeans though 😁
Does not work!
You have to do it more than once… some postural habits can take up to two months of daily effort to make a change
Probably have to do it daily for awhile. It’s going to take time to reverse years of tightness and maybe some bad posture. Do it for at least a week before deciding
Another Jesus Expert for the obvious.
I appreciate your efforts, but the jeans make me not trust you
This is stuff you should be able to do throughout the day, not “exercise” separate the two
If its not Scottish its CRAP ❤❤❤
This ain't Scottish mug
