      You talked about features of the F7, what about preformance, my Revolt has an average of 19us to process the PID's, what does the F7 average PID loop take? (BF3.1.7), And what cpu % is the F7 on 32/32?

I am glad for people like you and other to be able to support people by linking their products and what not. I am just glad it got seen by the right person. Can i give you advices about camera focus?
    If you are shooting fixed plan like that all the time, go for manual focus, maybe when you want to show componants, shot these sequences later and edit the whole things in post-production!
    If you are lazy to do this, so sacrify your background image and focus on everything in front of you and close to your camera lens!
    Have a great week and keep the videos coming!

    JC, do you think you'll see a noticeable difference in flight performance between the F4 vs the F7? Seems the F4 is massively overpowered today. Heck, I'm pretty happy with F3 FCs.
    Can't wait to see how it performs.

  • @marlon82mc

      On the anyfc the baro, the part itself isnt soldered on but the pins are there for it, i planning to solder it on.
      About the gyro: its could work if we just replace it for an icm 20608, or add it to by uart/spi? The mpu is looks so tiny on it, but i feel kindy funny just thinking about to make it...
      What frame du u using for ur gps build? some foldable 600-700?

    • @astragalizont
      @astragalizont 7 лет назад

      yes, self designed 760mm Quad, foldable to 250mm*550mm weighing 950g without Lipo and can carry up to 20Ah and a 600g gimbal and a Nex5. Flight time without Gimbal with one 5200mAh lipo is around 45 minutes. 6,5A hovercurrent ;) fpv-racing-forum.de/thread/2630-760er-experimentalquad-luft-nagel/?postID=38565&highlight=luftnagel#post38565

    we have some local supplier following the "numbering" hype here, they bring in F7 without really understanding how FC works.i said its useless since the gyro used is MPU6000.
    also most F7 boards out there are based on the bigger sized F7 chip. there is a new F7 chip (STM32F722), with the same size of the F4 chip. still, its better to wait the good guys from the Betaflight team to integrate and support F7 into Betaflight, there are still some bugs.

    Could F7 enable "optical flow" position hold, and other sensors to power autonomous flight characteristics that APM used to provide, but lacked the CPU to really advance? Even APM never really integrated the sensor values (Baro, GPS, Acc.) to determine when one was sending suspect data, so the platform never became 3rd-generation mature.
    For all the hate thrown at DJI, at least they have tried to mature the technology.
    It sounds like we keep getting hotter cars, but all we're doing with any of them is making a beer and pizza run. At what point do better processors enable advancing beyond PID to a more comprehensive stabilization methodology that was impossible to implement with existing processors? (was PID a workaround for CPU limitations?)

    • @coilwhine91
      @coilwhine91 7 лет назад

      Hugh Hemington the Pixhawk is the successor to the APM 2.5 and it has a much more powerful CPU

    I want to run iNav on Omnibus with 4servo's & 2motors to do some fixed-wing mission planning & long-range flights for terrain mapping so I would need at least 6PWM's +whatever a stabilized camera gimbals require...
    Why is it Omnibus F3 has 8PWM outputs, F4 has 6PWM's & the new F7 has only 4 available?
    Surely thats a retrograded step each time?
    I know fixed-wing flight & PIFF's rather than PIDs aren't/shouldn't be as processor hungry as a quadcopter, but surely with all of the above mentioned going on I'd still be better off with an F4 or F7 processors power/speed?
    Would you know of another flight controller that could fulfill these requirements & come in costing similar to Omnibus?
    Thanks again for your time & efforts :)

      RTFQUADS has great prices and ships quick, but god help you if there's something wrong with the order. They short shipped me on a few items and never responded to my repeated emails. I keep my orders small to minimize my risk if something goes wrong. It's a shame because they have great gear and ship fast.

      @gsisk911 7 лет назад

      NM NA I haven't seen that one used... and the smaller processor has less uarts defeating the point. there's just a limit on how many pins you can fit on a processor.
      also... it's called the
      stm32f7x2
      all x2's are smaller and the 22blabla or 32blabla have different number of different ports used for different things.
      and they are all that smaller size

    • @muzfpv8824
      @muzfpv8824 7 лет назад

      like i said its new, very few FC out there with that F7 chip currently. my next version FC is based on it too and i'm playing with the prototype currently. Betaflight is not yet optimized for the chip currently.
      how much uart is needed for a quad using 20X20mm FC?
      its not stm32f7x2, it's actually STM32F72xRx with the LQFP64 package, and also LQFP64 package is only available on the STM32F722xx devices.

    Hey JC, on the subject on soldering to the processor directly, i've got a www.banggood.com/20x20mm-XJB-F425-Dshot-Flytower-Micro-F4-AIO-OSD-BEC-Flight-Control-25A-Blheli_S-2-4S-4-In-1-ESC-p-1148284.html?rmmds=search with F4 and due to space, there is only 1 UART for SBUS, i am using an X4r, and in the configurator there are 3 UARTs avaliable, could you tell me which pin is for another UART, so i can use telemetry? Thanks, love your channel!

      hacksore channel are you aware of a good source for Nav builds? I'm planning to do one soon, but the info out there is really sketchy. I have motors, frame and props, but haven't selected the electronics because I can't figure out what the best options are. DJI has many FC's, but I have this feeling there are much better options. Not even sure where to start looking.

    Never order for ready to fly quads. I go to FPV303.com for my airbot/Omnibus FC's. I was burnt by R2FQ and tried to contact them with no result. left a review, and it was removed. So i will take my money elsewhere. But i love the Omnibus FC.

      I dont really hate it. I just hate the price of it. It's only worth about $20. And the hype is unreal for a configurator that doesn't support the most basic features. But RF1 is still in beta testing so I'll give them a break

    Hi, I watch your videos. You an Omnibus lover. Me not so much. I don't want to run an FC straight off of my battery. Nobody, even my vendor at Airbot could tell me how to power my OB F4 from my PDB 5v and get Vbat to work. Due to a manufacturing error the buzzer didn't work on my $65 FC unless I could buy and then somehow de-solder then solder a tiny diode, uh no. The Baro worked for a minute then I could not get a reading ever again. I'm pretty sure when I wired it up the 3rd time Airbot suggested as to run it as mentioned above something ganked. It's now just an expensive BL-Heli passthrough and sits on my jig board for testing/troubleshooting. I use SP racing FC units now and have to wire up a Minimum OSD but all work as promised with them. Considering your affinity for Omnibus you may know if was I doing something wrong. Oh yeah the board had something like Version .99 printed on it. I see there now there are much newer revisions and maybe would take another try at one. If you have time to pound out a few lines to me on the subject I would be grateful. Thx

      I show how to power the F4 Omnibus with 5v from the PDB and still get vbat to work in this video

      Sean Bittner you must have received a lemon. I've only had one omnibus hiccup and it was due to the wrong firmware. Airbot sells authentic FCs. Banggood are copies. I've got omnibus FCs in nearly all of my quads. Dys is nice, although I received one with a dead motor lead. The second worked flawless. Revolt blew with raceflight I flashed it with BF but haven't put it to use yet. I just received the Maytek F4 FC and Current sensing PDB I'll be wiring up. It's a shame you had a bad experience because they really are awesome FCs. The BF OSD is the only way I'll fly now. I don't even care about telemetry.

      Thank you for responding. I see a newer version on Ebay that's half what I paid six month ago. I realize what's on in the below link is a knock off. Is that the version you use? That's not the one I had. Where would I get one like below that's 'genuine' or a high probability of quality. Aren't these designs open source? If so what defines them as genuine? Thx.

      InFrontOfYourBack1 you can give any non pro omnibus 5v JC has lots of videos on it. just cut the legs off the regulator, power it from the 5v pin and run wires from your battery to vbat for battery monitoring.

      Is JC who's Utube Channel this is? I'm hesitant. That Omnibus I had was terrible. Even the micro sd card reader didn't work, I tried several sizes and classes of card. The buzzer didn't work due to a known manufacturing error. The Baro would not come up. At the time I couldn't find any video's, articles, etc. and no documentation except the diagram. I made diagrams of how to possibly wire it up for power how I want and sent them to myairbot, they tried to help but didn't know either. When you handle and solder onto these things too much they don't like it and eventually the accel unit wonked out, it worked if I adjusted it to CW270 degrees. When I finally kinda got it 'working' I randomly got a spinning razor blade of death when I armed and gave throttle. I switched to F3 SP and never looked back. If they now work as promised I may give another try but the thing I find most compelling about them is the built in OSD and I think that's only on the pro.

    Checkout the Motolabs F4 Typhoon. At least 2 of the UARTs have inversion circuits but I thought Motolabs indicated that all the UARTs have inversion.

    Why would we need doubble Gyros on the F7 , don't we have enough troubles at time with just One !! LOL.

    • @ProjectBlueFalcon
      @ProjectBlueFalcon  7 лет назад

      Just so you can pick whichever you want. On the Omnibus F7 you could choose the MPU6000 or the ICM20608 depending on if you want one that less bothered by vibrations, or if you want 32k

    • @kickinitoutdoors5782
      @kickinitoutdoors5782 7 лет назад

      No you can choose which one to use, you could go with the faster gyro if you soft mount it or go with the slower but non soft mount 6000.

    So I used to like your videos.
    I understand that you're a engineering student and I respect that because I have multiple engineering degrees myself and know how much hard work it is.
    What irritated me and I find to be horrible research, for a engineer, you said something along the line of ' These raceflight guys have to soft mount your fb and motors and everything".
    I am not a raceflight fan boy what so ever. I have about 20 quads. Some KISS, some BF, some RF.
    Raceflight when it was in BB (chrome ap/fork from CF) didn't even have gummies to "softmount" your FC. And soft mounting motors wasn't even a thing then.Yes RF had growing pains but look at how many people fly RF now. And were it is at. And I must say some of my RF quads are amazing, Amazing to people that fly Kiss.
    And to this day I have many RF quads without soft mounted motors. So sorry man, that;s bullshit. It was just the way you said it also, I thought you were trying to be funny but I am not sure at this point.
    Regardless dis-subscribed. Your videos lately are just not informative and more you feelings/rants.
    Good luck with BF which I like by the way. I just prefer the other 2 FC's.
    And then you have someone saying in comment flash BF on revolt ,which I have done and is ok. Many people did this after someone like ummagawd said something about it, I dunno. I think it is more because people are comfortable with BF features.
    But anyways.....you were talking...badly about the 20602 gyro. But flash BF on the same gyro and its better? Not logical.
    Sorry man not trying to take it out on you but this seems to be your most inconsistent off the wall vid I have seen you make. I am not sure if you had a bad day of what but bad.
