Shadow tower in particular, it's a magical, oppressive atmosphere that you don't feel welcome in. I still remember navigating the prison and seeing the toxic slime skulls lurching around in the distance, really unnerved me

There is actually a game that is explicitly inspired by Blame!, and attempts to be it's sort of "wandering through impossible buildings that don't seem designed for you" style. NaissancE, it's very much a walking simulator, but it's just so damn weird and really nails how Blame's architecture felt like it clearly began as something intended for humans to use, but over time something was just lost in the construction, and now what's being built is just "being built to keep building".
It even has that terrifying staircase in the side of a wall with like 3 inch wide steps too. That was a nightmare to walk up...
Fun little atmospheric horror game but man, the pixelation is almost too much at times lol. Any dark areas are downright impossible to see.
I feel its intentional, but agreed, campsite to hut its a bit much

A boy left, lost...a nearby witch's hut (Adria)...going under Tristram, with cathedral bowels and caves...drinkable blood...yeah the kid musta been Albrecht, the kid who became Diablo's body in Diablo 1. Nice.

It's a cheap enough movie, but I liked it.
A military team is trying to rescue the last healthy person while a monster pursues them, and the only way to go is a tunnel that gets progressively smaller.

okay that last part was legit scary. Was not expecting it and that entire thing was a good set up for it.
It's the subtle things in your editing that I enjoy the most. The part where the witch comes running at you and you cut your voice off right when she gets you. Really adds that you were in the game the whole time.
I'll listen but I'm gonna close my eyes so I don't get scared.

Limasse Five’s _NaissanceE_ isn’t really a horror game, but it has a lot of eerie atmosphere and was inspired by the architecture of _BLAME!._
I love the style of this game, the landscapes and atmosphere are stellar
I'll admit it, that hunched over blood witch naruto-running up to my ass made me freak out.
The pacing is a bit off but I do still like this buildup of everything getting progressively more and more unsettling as your search for the missing kid continues. I prefer their other game but this one still works.

BLAME style game you are thinking of is Naissance. Came out way back during the original rift developement. Takes huge inspiration from Escher and BLAME architecture.
Speaking of a BLAME like thing, have you seen Naissance? It's basically the same, exploring a weird mega city, just without the cyborgs, only you alone
Was racking my brain trying to remember the name of this one. Too bad the vr is broken unless you have an original rift. Hopefully Manly sees comments about it. Seems right up his alley for otherworldly architecture.

I NEEEED more medieval horror games
you talked about king's field and old dungeon crawlers that has atmosphere and stuff, you should totally try "lunacid", it's not much your format, being a bit longer and not entirely horror, but it's very short so far, and some moments are pretty scary/tense...
it took me 24 hours of gameplay to finish 100% all secrets and stuff, + some unnecessary farming.
also, it's made by the same creator of "spooky's jumpscare mansion"

Manly, if you want a game with the aesthetic of Blame, play Bleak Faith: Forsaken. It's an indie souls like that has exactly that feel--directly inspired by Blame and has fantastic atmosphere. Not exactly a horror game but it is a horror aesthetic (roughly like Bloodborne).

I like the whole PS1 look for the gameplay, but I wish stuff like the UI or the menu screens weren't in that same style. It's a problem with many games you cover, that they don't take a lot of care to really nail the presentation.

I liked the atmosphere of this game. The forest actually was nice, but a little too lonely feeling. Usually a forest has a feeling of life - this did not. The priest probably was in cahoots with the witch, figuring some sucker would fall for the "He is West" but. The end was abrupt, but what else would you expect.

The game was good but I'd hope we would get more interactions with the witch other than a general walking sim. in a pixelated world. It is really good atmosphere wise, and the story is solid enough. However, I wish we could get more evidence from the witch other than having fear installed by the architecture and darkness. On an honest note, wish there was subtle hints of the witch knowing we are in her domain, just to feed us small bite size pieces of knowing that she is aware of our presence.
One really good way of that was through the tight tunnel because of how it can press that sense of claustrophobia paired with her stalking (just a good distance away but not far)
Or eyes in the dark especially with those LARGE bridges in that one segment. Distance stalking would've been nice.
Overall the game is okay, just hoped for more threat from the witch instead of the atmosphere and structures doing it.
I was falling asleep, then got to the end.

I dunno if Manly would be able to/be willing to record a lot of it tho considering a lot of the nudity (among other NSFW content). Otherwise yeah, I’d love to see him play FaH or FaH:Termina
Fear and Hunger would be fantastic, but it would almost require multiple long form videos.
I don't think it'd be a good fit for his channel.
Current YT standards wouldn't allow for a play through of that game without heavy editing/ censorship. It may be too much trouble, though i agree that it's a fantastic horror/ survival game
