    Tactical bombers can only shoot at ground and naval units (not air units) on the target selection hits per pg. 54 of the second edition v. 1.2 rule set. That being said I echo what the others have said...thanks for putting the time into these videos. They are great teaching aids. It is appreciate greatly.

    Like the demonstrations in these videos. Good way to present some of these rules that are different from the A&A games.

    -This is indeed a very useful tool in helping players understand the complicated but FUN rules of Global War 1936. Neither the "Global War" website or either of the A&A forums are as thorough because they are only written words, not VIDEOS. "Tall Paul"

    I think heavy armor has target selection at 1 also on page 54 it states that tacticals target selection can't be aircraft

    • @TheHilltopPillbox
      @TheHilltopPillbox  7 лет назад +1

      Yes, to both! I missed that tactical note...gotta read better! I did mention the heavy armor on my first run-through, but forgot to mention it on the final take. Ugh. This is tougher than it looks! Great game, though!

    here's a question. when you have two absolutes involved in the same combat which one overrides? An example would be a battle with aircraft and land forces at the same time as amphibious assault. one: fighters that get hits on the first round, aircraft must be taken first, but the amphibious units are supposed to take all hits on first round. which one overrides? I noticed on your Anzac attack that your fighters got hits on the first round, but you took the marines as casualties. Which rule is overridden?

    • @TheHilltopPillbox
      @TheHilltopPillbox  7 лет назад

      That's a great question! I think that when an amphibious assault happens, the aircraft do their normal duty, so, I screwed up on that one! Here's the skinny from the rule book:
      "On round one of an amphibious assault only infantry-class
      units may Attack and those amphibiously assaulting infantry-class units suffer double
      casualties unless they are marines. Aircraft may Attack normally."
      The last four words are pretty clear, I think.
      Thanks for pointing out that rule clarification!

    • @TheHilltopPillbox
      @TheHilltopPillbox  7 лет назад

      Yep! There's the overriding rule for aircraft on first round. Thanks!

  • @Marty-Metal

    I think the strat bomber only goes one round

    • @TheHilltopPillbox
      @TheHilltopPillbox  7 лет назад

      Shoot. You caught me!
      Yes, that is the current rule, but I have heard rumours that it will be changed to each round, simply because of the low odds of getting hits. (I wanted to put that into the video because I think it will probably be changed to what I demonstrated here.) If it remains only a first round unit, I think Strategic Bombers won't be purchased by too many people. Yes, it can transport troops, but Air Transports are cheaper (9 vs 12), and SBR's are a whole new ball game in 1936, as interdiction can make them very, very costly to perform.
      I will update when I hear if the rule has been changed.

    • @Marty-Metal
      @Marty-Metal 7 лет назад

      that would be great, i was thinking of making a house rule on strats anyway, with maybe a little twist, like friendly fire, them darn strats just drop bombs everywhere, roll 3 sixes and hits one of your own...lol

    • @TheHilltopPillbox
      @TheHilltopPillbox  7 лет назад

      That sure did happen. I was thinking rolling of keeping the roll the same, but a "12" hits a friendly unit. It will be great to see the house rules and variants that come out of this game!

      you are doing great it's a hard game to master, I'm also looking forward to some of your ideas as far as strategy goes, I would love to also see some strategy ideas from the guys like YG and Sired and general handgrenade.

    • @TheHilltopPillbox
      @TheHilltopPillbox  7 лет назад

      Thanks, eh! And, yes, it will be great to see the wide variety of strategies that can come out of this game! I've learned a lot from the community about G40 and other variants, and I can only imagine that with the myriad of options in this game that everyone will have some pretty nifty ideas as to how to win. Looking forward to it!

    I may of missed it but in this game, defender's unit that died no longer get to shoot back like they do in Axis and Allies?

    • @TheHilltopPillbox
      @TheHilltopPillbox  6 лет назад

      Good question! In this game there are two units with "First Strike" capabilities: artillery and submarines. These two units get to fire before regular combat begins, and the casualties they cause are removed immediately.
      But then, you have to remember not to fire them again that round!
      All other casualties are treated the same as in Axis and Allies. Enjoy!

    can cavalry and motorised infantry attack ones and then a second time in 1 turn like med tanks mechanised infantry fighters and tactical bombers.

    • @TheHilltopPillbox
      @TheHilltopPillbox  7 лет назад

      Hey Steven, not sure about that. I have gone through the rules and don't see anything about two attacks in one turn for any unit. Do you have a source for that rule, or is it a house rule? Thanks!

    • @Marty-Metal
      @Marty-Metal 7 лет назад +1

      hey Steven, on the turn that germany uses it's special lightening war rule is the only time that non blitzing units can make an additional move and attack. it's similar to the 2nd impulse rule from 39. hope that answers your question

    • @TheHilltopPillbox
      @TheHilltopPillbox  7 лет назад

      Hey mes6984, can you tell me where that rule is? I can't seem to find it...or are you talking about the pairing of tanks and mechs, and fighters and tacticals doing a second attack? Other than that, I can't find anything...Thanks!

    • @Marty-Metal
      @Marty-Metal 7 лет назад

      It's in Germany's special abilities area , on their setup sheet. It's called Lightning war its similar to the second impulse,from 39

    • @TheHilltopPillbox
      @TheHilltopPillbox  7 лет назад

      Ah, yes, the National Sheets. I've been doing pretty basic stuff so far, but when I get to the nation-specific rules, I'll have to cover all those ones, too. Big job ahead...
      Thanks for pointing that out!

    • @TheHilltopPillbox
      @TheHilltopPillbox  5 лет назад

      Hello Jorun, this game uses a d12 system, so infantry will hit on a 4 in defense, or a 3/4 if they are marines or special infantry. Most infantry defends at a two. Thanks for watching and commenting!
