An astonishing RC plane crash and rebuild

- When this Futura Tomahawk RC plane was smashed into a thousand pieces, even Bill thought he couldn't rebuild it. However, watch and marvel at the incredible reconstructive skills of this man as the aircraft once again takes to the skies over the Tokoroa Airfield in New Zealand.

I never say never when it comes to Bill bringing bits back to life. We need these happy endings in 2023. Thank you. Outstanding job, Bill. More thanks to Bruce for documenting this miracle and providing an exquisite cinematic experience.
Brilliant job, Bill! I’ve rebuilt a number of my own planes because I hate to write them off if there’s even the slightest chance they can be repaired. Nice to see you feel the same way. 😊
Where there's a will............... Excellent work and video! 👏
I’ve repaired some pretty badly damage models before, but even I would have written that one off. Great repair job and bragging rights for Bill for making it lighter.
I don't think I've ever seen anything explode like that plane when it hit the fence, (without using an explosive device). What a job Bill. Never thought you would get that one back together again. 👍
Amazing effort Bill ! It flies so beautifully , and what a sweet landing.
Just a lot of glue and sheer determination.
So inspiring.
Bill is a legend.
It's all fixed!! That's wonderful, wonderful indeed. What a beautiful thing .GOOD WORK HES A REAL MODELER!!!
Nicely done Bill! Impressive rebuild.
Great job to Bill for fixing the plane so well!
Bill and the fresh rebuild actually put together a nice smooth flight with a very nice landing in the end!
Great video with cool editing and nice flight and crash scenes.
Any day at the field beats a day at work, enjoy!
Thank you Bruce for everything you do!
He fixed it? That's amazing! I need his skills here in Florida.
Well done Bill you are an amazing model maker and flyer, truly inspirational.
Good ONYA Bill you did an amazing job seeing as the plane went through what it did just amazing mate.
Most people would just take the electronics and put the rest in the bin.
Wow!
Just WOW!
Great work Bill, you can put Humpty Dumpty back together. 😁
Well done Bill! 👍
Super job.
Amazing... simply amazing!!! Great rebuild job Bill !! 👍👍👍👍
On'ya! Bill a true hobbyist!.
NO WAY 👀 !
I believed he fixed them... BUT..
I can't believe he fixed THAT one... That was shredded... Literally lol 😂 good job Bill 👍
Bravo Bill !. Legend.
Bill.you are a master builder and a Rebuilder damn good pilot as well I wish I was half as good as you are in this Hobby . And one of the main star of the show besides mr. Simpson himself.
P.S how many planes does Bill actually have must be in the hundreds
Literally strained it through a fence. Never would have I thought that repairable 😬
Epic repair job. never say die
No One Has Mention The "Godly" Intervention , as without that you aint got nothing .
Awesome to see a destroyed object become once again beautiful and wow that was totally destroyed into many little pieces, But the will and patience has definitely paid off as per the smile on Bills face thanks Bruce for documenting this marvel of engineering by Bill.
I would describe that repair as a small miracle
God "That's beyond even my powers" Bill "Here hold my beer"
G'day Bruce, Well done Bill (it Fly's). 😎
Incredible...... thats all I can say....
It's alive !
I think Bill actually bought a new one , and painted lines on it , to make it look repaired !
🙂
Well done Bill xD
Congratulations that is just awesome 👏
Hey that's fantastic, please tell me Bill what type of glue did you use in labour of love restoration?
I just use a hot glue gun as have tried other glues but hot glue works best
@@billlynch1631 thanks for that, I have used it but now using polyurethane type, slow to set but sometimes thats good. It's best quality, is its gap filling upon setting. A dam good job Bill.
Epic video man! Loved it! Question, does Bill have a Y/T Channel or is he too grumpy for that sort of thing? Ha ha
yip too grumpy and too old Ha Ha
Dang I thought my viper was a total loss because the foam is crunched in any help with how to fix that need to put it back strait or my fuseloge will be crooked
try tack gluing the cockpit canopy in then glue fuse parts around of it as that as its almost never damaged Sometimes I will glue a stick at the bottom of the canopy out both ends as a guide to get nose and tail straight then remove canopy from fuse and stick from canopy ,hope this helps Cheers Bill
Does Bill also enjoy jigsaw puzzles?
just foam ones that I can make fly again😊😊 Cheers Bill
well done bill, i would have fixed it with a black bag and a dustbin
Whoa, outstanding work! That takes some mad patience!
Ok seriously impressed he repaired that. I'm pretty good at foam repair but would have declared that one a loss. Awesome job. :) Free plane basically now.
Bill is a surgeon when it comes to putting these 'Humpty Dumptys' back together. A coat of paint and you wouldn't even know it crashed. And your video editing on this one is a banger.
Bill is a very patient genius. Well done. And thanks for sharing the video, great fun to watch!
Great video. Incredible work Bill, I never thought that was going back together. It got it's money's worth in laughs across the planet, and then somehow Bill saves it! 👍✌
Hi Bruce, Bill and everything else. WoW ! Bill, great job with the rebuild. I just wanted to ask Bill if he had a channel? He's always taping. Thanks again for a great day at the Tokoroa RC Park.
No not my thing ,leave to people that know what they are doing, the stuff you see on the channel is just a tiny bit of a flying day and I record my flights as Bruce thinks are just too boring for the channel IE no crash's .suppose he is correct but I record and will have lots to watch when I am to old to fly 👍👍cheers Bill
It’s a fun exercise and awesome to see just how repairable foam planes are. I had a balsa Impala slope soarer as a youngen and it was eventually quite heavy with epoxy by the time I’d destroyed it over and over but I learned a whole lot a patience and composure and engineering bringing it back and improving it etc. I love this hobby. Let’s not let the bastards kill it with overregulation. 🤓❤️👍
I had an impala just the same, it was called the balsa bomber by my chums because I crashed it nearby all the time. I need another one in my life, perhaps the 72 inch version, a lovely thing the impala.
@@sUASNews I had the two channel 72 inch version and it was a perfect slope trainer. I’m guessing you had the aileron version right? It’s a Verron or KielKraft model and it was forty years ago when I built it with my Father on the kitchen table. What a beautiful hobby I was introduced to back then. One of the reasons the overregulation irks me so is knowing what so many kids will be loosing out on.
Usually after a crash like that is when 3 or more gather around the trash can, say a few kind words and move onto the next one.....😂...Well done Bill
Awesome job Bill 👍
Even the retracts works!
Very nice and inspiring video.
thanks retracts and servos plugs all need to be solderd back together as they were ripped apart
Unbelievable restoration Bill. Still in shock at seeing the results of your effort in bringing the victim back to life. Well done.
Wow, that is bloody good! And so quickly rebuilt too! Bill needs to do a rebuilding series!
Bill is legend at this, I did wonder after the crash video if we would see a rebuild
Wow! That was super impressive!!! Can't believe he rebuilt it 👍
That’s brilliant put back together. I would have put in a black bag after that crash, just goes to show. Flew and landed well. Great stuff 🫡
My wife doesn't believe me when I say anything can be fixed with enough time and effort. Excellent job Bill!
....And yes, I was one of the doubters 🤔..... Phenomenal rebirth Bill. And they said SuperGlue would never take off . Not sure if it's dedication, or obsession. In this case it really doesn't matter 👍.
Cheers
Pete'
Hokitika.
Can't believe Bill actually did it! Heard NZ was hit by some pretty bad storms last week, hope all you guys and your families are alright!
Wow excellent Bill 👏👏👏 Bravo
Tbh I thought it was not fixable glad I was wrong
Keep up with the excellent informative quality content Bruce bestest from Scotland 👋👋
NEVER believe Bill when he says he can't fix something. He probably can fix even Ron! 😬
Fantastic video and edit, Bruce!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Awesome crash, astonishing rebuild, fantastic video.
Well seeing is believing well done Bill great job can't wait to see the colour scheme he uses for the paint job.
Bill is a Wizard. Would love to see video of Bill performing his magic to bring back planes from the rubbish bag. Cheers
You guys should've heard Bill yesterday the airfield telling Bruce how he had to make his video..... he's not content with just being one of the stars of the show, and having people leave comments, he wants to wear the T-shirt and tell Bruce how to make things now lol
I've brought few back from the dead but that is unbelievable! Well done Bill.
Wish I had the same attitude as Bill, I've spent 6 months just getting a pnp model ready to fly in the coming spring :)
That the landing retracted and descended, now THAT is impressive!
Well done!
That is as close as a miracle, I have seen. And it still flies brilliantly. Definitely an advantage to have a foamy over a balsa aeroplane. It would’ve definitely been a right off, if it had been made of balsa wood. 😊
That man is a foam wielding genius. Amazing. Hats off to Bill from the UK!
Great rebuild! I’m glad y’all are still at it down there. Summer time there yeah? No fences this time!
Looks like all of my airplanes. The glue makes em fly better. Thats what Leslie Nielsen said anyway.
Bill must be using dark forces to have pulled this one off! Nice one!
Wow! If Bill can put that jet back, I think I can fix anything that I end up doing.
As a fellow believer in the fix/repair not throw away philosophy I would say Bill probably enjoyed every minute of the rebuild.
Great result from a RUD Bill.
I did ,just love bringing them back and then proving that thay can still fly well👍👍
Legend stuff Bill well done you proved us all wrong, handled like a pro...
I must say.. Bill is great at puzzles... Amazing Job Bill.
Wow Bill has mad skills. Nice patina on that jet!
The flashback in the flight gives me an oeps 😂
Great repair 👌👍
Good work, Bill, and fast, too!
Bill’s a marvel at rebuilds, to repair that jet that most people would have binned is amazing . Top marks to Bill :-)
*Let the Sunshine In...*
I love this channel! Thank you Bruce, and well done Bill for your determination to repair that plane. Brilliant job.
Would be great to see a Dr Bill series on hopeless cases and bringing them back to life…
I told you Bill would fit it :) Bloody well done Bill :)
Hiya Xjet, oh wow, crazy beetz bro, wrap it up
Not often a plane gets to do a flypast of it's own grave site.
The Tokoroa field Legend Bill does it again
Bill you are a legend, amazing rebuild job
Amazing job putting it back together, didn't think it was possible after that crash!
Well done. That’s what I like to see!🤠
You guys are cool. one of the best rc channels on youtube
Wow, impressive job there, Bill.
Marvellous resurrection, from full disassembly to be reborn.
That shows the sceptics even that explosion of bits could be recreated a fully functional.
👍👍👍👍😃😃😃😃❤️❤️❤️❤️
Amazing rebuild. Never expected that !
Way To Go Bill, This Is Why We LUV Foam Planes! Makes Them Even Stronger Second Life Around... 👍👍😜🤣🤣😁😎
Bill, you bloody legend! What an amazing job.
Better send Bill and the hot glue gun up to see me. Maybe he can put me back together better than the doctors seem to be able to do
best wishes Ron.... get better
Hope your feeling better and flying again soon.
Get well soon, you are missed.
All the best Ron hope to see you back at the field soon WE ALL MISS YOU
Well done Bill. I was never doubtful....... Yes I was if I'm honest. Great job my friend.
Very Very impressive Bill. I take my well used Virtual hat off to you from a cold and wintry UK. That is one amazing repair….. How are you at jigsaw’s. Now whats next.
Ain't foam great. I destroyed a scale BF190 model made from balsa in almost the same way when I was a teenager. All I was able to recover was the radio, engine and fuel tank. The rest was matchsticks and unrecoverable.
Well done Bill.
Where was " The Six Million Dollar Man " theme music and The " We can rebuild it, Stronger, faster "etc. You mist the chance...🤣
Wow, Bill is a wizard!!!👍👍👍
WHAT!! that is amazing that repair please give Bill my congratulations, saying that he needs to get a life, nobody in there right mine would spend that much time glueing that back together, anyway keep up the good work
Phoenix must be a common name, as I have one too! This one's all wood, though, but in it's lifetimeS, it has had a new fuselage, and now it has a new wing, after a trainee tried to fly it through a fence-post! Needless to say, the post won!
Absolutely brilliant work Bill!!! love it mate and cheers from Australia!
