Gracias
Got mine yesterday. I really like it but the lack of crawler mode and the super slow reverse speed is a bummer. Given the great modulation, it is a shame that we will have to change electronics to get crawler mode and a proper reverse speed. Thanks again!
Yes, reverse does get faster at half throttle for each speed. But reverse is waaayy too slow in all speeds. Level 1 reverse speed barely moves the truck. The lack of crawler mode sucks too.
The case could be made for the more expensive Traxxas for their customer and aftermarket support. I am currently building a Meus Ripper based on the TRXM4 and the aftermarket support is pretty good. Not as good as Axial, but still good. If you needed support for the Austar you might be on your own to fab up some sort of solution.
Thanks for the comparison. I ordered one after watching your first video. Bummer about the body. Wonder about the defender. I transformed my TRX-4M defender with the tarantula kit from Injora. Have leftover parts. Shocks are for sure going on the Austar. Number of tires to play with and the Traxxas trailer. Gonna be a hodgepodge of parts. Should be fun. Lol.
Body will probably fit. You'll proabably have to tinker around a bit with mountings. But if you'll take correct bumpers, why shouldn't it fit? Wheelbase fits perfectly.
I bought a Bronco not even a year ago, I think March, and I paid 226 after taxes at my local hobby shop Canadian. If I would have seen this and known how basically every part minus the motor and ESC is interchangeable I would have gone with this instead of buying the new high trail just about a month and a half ago
All the Traxxas-fitting servos will fit. Hard to say which is best. Those startet as Traxxas TRX4 (not M) shifting servos, now also sold as "TRX-4M servos". Do not know which one is the best, guess I do have one from JX (?), it is ok. There are a lot on Ali, Banggood, Amazon, Injora, ....
You could say traxxas copied panda hobby with that servo mount position. Did you have a eazyrc glacier/fms k10? Would these axles/tyres maybe gearbox with modification go ok with that truck
On one of your videos, you said that the rc you're reviewing, not the trx4 the other one. You said the reverse was the same speed on all three speeds . I just got mine today, and mine goes faster in reverse at each level . Slow at low faster at medium and faster in high. I don't know if something is wrong with yours or what. But I thought I would let you know. Love your videos.
Thank you. Do not know - others seem to have the same issue? And I think, 2FM RC mentioned the same issue, when he made the review of the Injora radio/motor combo for TRX-4M (the first one, some time ago, where he complained about the missing crawler mode), this is IMO the same electronics, that comes with the Austar. I have ordered a second one (from Ali, my first one is from Banggood); will see, if this is the same in my second one.
I believe the Jeep body will fit the TRX4M will fit if you swap the bumpers/mounts too and vice versa. Just like you have to do with the Defender & bronco bodies on the TRX4M
Yes, agree. It will fit if you take correct bumpers, there is no reason why not. However, Austar mounting clips are a bit different to the Traxxas ones.
Curious if shaving down that trigger block on the transmitter would give the reverse function a little more punch, or is it limited by the esc. Maybe reverse the motor direction and see if it changes the reverse power.
@@wineff499 I did not try, but in "my" forum people recommend to use the TRX-4M gears. Axles of the Austar are wider, but gears fit. Better shocks (Injora) will also be a good upgrade.
Sooo a question then, beacuse suspension links, shocks and diff gears are interchangeable, then the metal replacements made for trx4m from injora and brands like that will fit? (also ps. what hex is the will on austar? 7mm?)
@@donaldsneffe I know that steering link is wider by a small amout on the ax8560 (already prepared myself for that) but the other part seem that they are upgradable with trx4m part which is great Honestly this rc is a way better idea to buy and upgrade for the amout of money which you would pay for the trx4m alone lol
