I built it back in 2016 and its never let me down. I bet most of my parts could work on. Its good deal if your getting it for your child to learn on it,
@@sirchirpalot Even for anyone I've went pretty deep in on this one I would choose this over the trx4 if scale was my thing and I were considering the sport as my purchase. So far main difference has been outside portal gears for this price its a no Brainer to me.
Great to see comparison between the two. When swapping the wheel hex look at going a touch longer to give a wider stance as we find on yhe hb1001 a little narrow which makes it tippy for side roll. Tr4 diff cover fits as we put brass one on ours. Keep up the great work 👍
@@DaddyDaughterRC-sw2zb Yes, mainly found the difference is in the portal part of the axles. I broke that down in the axle video I did for this model. Thanks for watching and thanks for the info as well. I've swapped over to aluminum hex once I figure out my wheels and tires I'll figure out what wheel hub and or offset I want, I kinda like the tire tuck on this little more scale accurate.
I tried to keep as much stock as I could. I didn't replace the whole center transmission skid, just some metal trx4 skid protection, they fit no problem. Trx4 bronco grill did not fit without some customizing. Also trx4 interior didn't fit without lots of cutting. Trx4 shock extensions didn't fit. Had to put a chunk of silicone under the motor to prevent wiggling. You can carefully score the windows tint and peel it off to view the interior. Such a good deal for this thing at $155
@@keldonator yes I'm seeing the Traxxas bronco has a longer wheelbase at 324 that possibly might be why the interior 🤔 is off then. I'm not worried about interior for this just keeping it simple I only use interiors in my hardbodies for scale stuff. Thanks again for the information. Yah I got the c bubs to work, my trx4 has completely different portal housing so not sure how that worked for ya? Even the hex and stub axle location is different on my HB. Maybe difference in HB models possibly? I know you can swap literally everything to a Trx4 portal housing though over and it'll work.
the body on the hb1001 is nicer, my opinion, like the badlands trim or something, little more square fenders ;) if you go to trx4, sell this stuff just from the box: radio, motor&esc, wheels, steering servo andeven just the whole gearbox, you`ll get some 200 to 250 bucks to buy upgraded parts ;)
The trx4 Bronco is 500 bucks! If the body is as nice on the HBT as the trx4 and you like the new Bronco styling, then it's a great deal. If it sold in the U.S. it would be 350 easy. Nice job!
@@staysmallrc Thanks StaySmall, yes I just was comparing it to the sport mainly because its the same wheelbase as the Sport. But yes the body is very nice on this HB toys model very nicely scaled as far as lexan goes. I'm working on the axle video now I've found that some parts off the Trx4 models to actually work on this model. When I get it edited I'll get it up ASAP.
@RcDungeon Very cool. Yeah, I love the high trail brown 70s Ford, chrome roll bar, but that's 700 bucks to drive correct, and that's a shame. I haven't paid over $349 for a truck yet. All the upgrades get me to $5-550 pretty quick!
@@staysmallrc yes the High Trails are way over priced to me. I would never spend almost 700 for a lexan bodied truck, for less you can buy a really nice scale leafed Rc4wd rig and if you want more performance you could simply link it and still be around same price but with a super nice scale rig but that's my opinion. I loved my Ford high trail once I lowered it down on some 4.75 tires. I traded into that high trail on my channel If have never paid close to 700 for it though. I will say that was my favorite Trx4 I've ever owned out of all of the renditions they offer.
Thanks again for your comparison and tips that i saw in your other videos . They have been really helpful :-) . If i could change the radio and keep the receiver with the light connectors that would be great .

@topqualityfi8216 honestly not really. The inner fender plastic is maybe little cheaper quality, actually all the plastic is a little more cheaper made. We have two we've beat on pretty hard and everything has held up. The two speed shift servo is junk the stock steering servo is terrible. The stock motor and esc is ok at best but them the Traxxas isn't I wouldn't say top quality either. We've really pushed these broncos pretty hard surprised how durable they are honestly. It does suck all these brand names are getting cloned I do understand that that it isn't exactly right on that aspect but it does help others without higher end budgets to get into the 1/10 scale
Can anyone answer this question for m? I want to get one of these and take the body, bumpers and inner fenders off and put it on my sons sport, direct swap over? it looks really close! Cheers
