We stopped 5 nights at the Premier Inn at Oban about 18 months ago and we loved it there. We missed a night as we had to leave for home at 03.00 in the morning when Mrs Metalman got the cold from Hell but still have very good memories of Oban and the fish n chips there, cheers Alan

What a beautiful place..I did not hear of Oban before!! It looks so green and nice with all the trees and birds chirping!! The Oban Harbour looks so nice too and I hear the bagpipers in the back too!! This was classic..loved watching it!!
Thanks, Paul, for this wonderful excursion! The first 5 minutes, the landscape has a fairy tale-like quality with unreal shades of green and unique buildings/structures. I liked the birds' concert. No wonder Beethoven took some of his melodies from birds' melodies. The town itself looks quite "Dutch" in style. From a distance, the bagpipes are actually quite nice to listen to. They must have very strict noise regulations over there; just imagine your neighbor practising for a concert… at 2 A.M. …. :=) Looking forward to your next project! Thumbs up! Full watch. Hi Paul, I think it had recently rained so it brought the greens out a bit more. I thought the sound of birdsong was a lot better than me chirping about the place. I think the bagpipes are played quite regular on the streets Oban but I think just during the day. I've never been close to Oban area so this video is a nice treat. I can enjoy a little walk from the comfort of my computer here at home. I think my favorite area is the McCaig tower Battery hill. Wow lovely flowers at 4:00.

An outstanding tour of Scotland, the parking lot is really amazing and very unique. The Oban Harbour looks so beautiful and I am imagine spending hour sitting in one of the cozy restaurant and watch the boats... A remarkable tour of the place my friend..
Tower Battery Hill was meaningful when it was made, but it became a local landmark. There must be a lot of rocks in Oban area. Tower Battery Hill, War Monument, and Lighthouse are made of stone. I enjoyed the wonderful scenery in detail. Thank you.

I have never seen an inch of Scotland that wasn’t stunning! Everything is always so green and beautiful. This is a great video showing the tremendous beauty and age of Scotland with its ancient architecture!!! Was there in 2019. Edinburgh and other surroundings. I love the old ruins. 👍And the birds sound just like they did when I visited!😊
I love visiting Scotland and when not hiking the mountains because of bad weather or forecast I do plan B trips such as this. Over here in the UK we tend to take old ruins and buildings somewhat for granted as they are fairly common place. I've actually never been to Edinburgh, well the city centre anyway. I'm glad you enjoy Scotland cos have a ton of wide ranging material to come from my recent trip including hiking up some of its highest mountains. Thanks for watching 🙂 Paul

Oban looks awesome, maybe a little town but sure has LOTS to offer. The McCaig tower was quite impressive, love how weathered everything looks and that bird song throughout was so calming. Wow, those views were just incredible to see, overlooking the town of Oban, what a stunner seeing all the way across to the Isle of Mull too. Impressive. Such lovely homes on route down to the harbour. The harbour is so picturesque 👍🏻👍🏻 as is the town. Loved the video, thank you for sharing Oban with us!
Hi Alessa, I think Oban has a larger population during the Summer with visitors but would you believe it's the largest town for miles around! i thought the birdsong was better than any chit chat I could concoct. There are even a couple of castles in Oban to explore if you ever have a mind to visit. It sure was a nice town to explore and a great plan B to hiking mountains. Hi Donna, I think it had been raining prior to my arrival and hence everything being even more green. The trip to this town was a plan B to hiking up the mountains as the weather forecast wasn't great. I figured that the birdsong and the bagpipes were better than me chirping up so I kept quiet. @@TheHikingHermit yes that’s the one 😁 I didn’t do any filming there though, arrived late but we managed to catch the sunset on the beach. Remember a big sign about the kayaking trips you can take there. Wish we had time to explore more there but it was our last day in Scotland when we visited last year

The wall with the open arches was an interesting and attractive structure. A lovely wander down to the quaint historic town. How great to hear the bagpipes playing when you got to the harbour! Wonderful 😍 Love Oban Paul and love this vid It’s a brilliant place - we sat for a couple of hours in the pub garden on the corner overlooking the harbour - watching all the ferries coming and going The views across to Mull are beautiful. Oban looks awesome, maybe a little town but sure has LOTS to offer. The McCaig tower was quite impressive, love how weathered everything looks and that bird song throughout was so calming. Wow, those views were just incredible to see, overlooking the town of Oban, what a stunner seeing all the way across to the Isle of Mull too. Impressive. Such lovely homes on route down to the harbour. The harbour is so picturesque 👍🏻👍🏻 as is the town. Loved the video, thank you for sharing Oban with us!
Hi Alessa, I think Oban has a larger population during the Summer with visitors but would you believe it's the largest town for miles around! i thought the birdsong was better than any chit chat I could concoct. There are even a couple of castles in Oban to explore if you ever have a mind to visit. It sure was a nice town to explore and a great plan B to hiking mountains. I love how green and quaint it looks there! Looks like it may have been raining just before you started your journey…first hearing birds now the bagpipes 😮 such a lovely hike! Beautiful little town…you know all the best places😊thanks for taking me along❤
Hi Donna, I think it had been raining prior to my arrival and hence everything being even more green. The trip to this town was a plan B to hiking up the mountains as the weather forecast wasn't great. I figured that the birdsong and the bagpipes were better than me chirping up so I kept quiet. I have a lot more to come from Scotland including hiking to the summit of some of its highest mountains. Thanks very much for taking time to watch 🙂 Paul
I only visited for an evening and explored a beach there 😊 looking forward to seeing more as I didn’t have enough time to explore fully
I went for the day. Was the beach you explored called Ganavan Sands which has a big car park?
@@TheHikingHermit yes that’s the one 😁 I didn’t do any filming there though, arrived late but we managed to catch the sunset on the beach. Remember a big sign about the kayaking trips you can take there. Wish we had time to explore more there but it was our last day in Scotland when we visited last year

Hi Paul! First of all, I'm sorry neither of us was free to watch your premiere. Happy to be watching now. Lovely birdsong as you walked along - and lovely weather too. The wall with the open arches was an interesting and attractive structure. A lovely wander down to the quaint historic town. How great to hear the bagpipes playing when you got to the harbour! The coastline views were gorgeous. I loved the cute little lighthouse with its views of the castle. A really beautiful walk - thank you for the tour 👍😊❤

It’s a brilliant place - we sat for a couple of hours in the pub garden on the corner overlooking the harbour - watching all the ferries coming and going
The views across to Mull are beautiful.
And loved the walk around McCaigs Tower and to the viewpoint. Was waiting for that! The birds of was beautiful around there.

A friend of mine lives in Oban, I promised so many times to visit him. At least I get a glimpse now of the wonderful place!
It's a lovely little town. You should get over there sometime and take the ferry to Mull. I need to do that some time myself 🙂
