Hunt For The Whitetail - Chapter 4

The woods were calling and I had to go. It was cool enough on the backside of that cold front that I wore some flannel under the woodland camo. The deer were moving. It was time well spent.

I was one that just couldn't sit for more than a few hours before I had to get up and see what's over on the nest ridge. I also have never bow hunted. I have seen and gotten more deer by creep hunting. Take a few steps then stop and look around. Then a few more and maybe find a stump to sit on for a bit or a tree to lean up against. Well, my stalking say are done. I invested in a pretty nice 3 man blind that will be set up over looking a small food plot about 75 yards from my back porch. I got some nice swivel kitchen chairs from the local thrift store for $5 each. I Dug out my little propane heater today. I'll probably be so nice and comfortable that I can guarantee that I will nood off sometime during the day. I hope you stick a big one.

Creeping along will get it done for sure. Shooting houses and food plots get it done too. I prefer to be in the open air but will sit in an enclosed blind on a rainy day A make-shift ground blind is probably my most favorite. Main thing is to just get out there and do it. It's not a one size fits all thing. That's the way I see it anyways. There a couple big ones working this area. Horns are nice but doe is far better on the plate than buck any day of the week. A deer came in from behind me [downwind] and blew.
