Good discussion. My wife and I are proud Christians and attend our local church regularly and are active in our church community. What concerns us and I believe all denominations of Christianity is the decline in church membership and the lack of people seeking God over the past several decades. Much of this I point to leftist ideology in society and a decay in morality. Back as far as Woodrow Wilson who was an elitist leftist up to LBJ and his "war on poverty" that incentivized woman having children out of wedlock and the feminist movement of the 1960's and 70's all contributed to the attack on the family and faith. We know that God created man and woman in his image and likeness as written in the book of Genesis. However, the trans ideology effectively kicks God to the curb and says that men can become woman and woman can be come men. This leftist ideology is based on Marxism and drives for the elites to control the masses. People who have faith in God, who revere God and rely on God's guidance cannot be controlled by government.. We don't care what government tells us is moral and right, we rely on God to tell us this through the books of the Bible. I think churches have relaxed their standards to be more inclusive, putting pride flags up to bring people in. New church leadership seem to be people who are more left leaning and buy into the leftist ideology. Our country was founded on the principles of Judeo-Christian values and these are under attack by the left. The left wants positive rights that are granted by government as opposed to negative rights granted by God. This I believe is the fundamental basis for the attack on our Christian and family values around the world.

SW, I have the same concerns and that is why I do this channel. As Christians we have to start affecting culture and putting out good things to show young people that there is a different path than what they normally see on most videos and from mainstream media. And Mrs. River and I are also watching our church decline and have the same concerns about church attendance. We're among the youngest members in our church and the future doesn't look very good. I think you're also spot on about the influence of Marxism, and Wilson too! And if you want to know what inspired Marx I suggest you watch this:

From Scotland, we don't bother much about what you would call Left or Right. Our Liberal Party is left of our Conservative Party. Further left is the Labour Party, originally founded for people who worked 'by hand and eye' but now less representative of manual workers.
Nevertheless the important thing is to read the Bible, understand it and follow the teaching Jesus gave us.
Two things about his ascension into Heaven. He said he would leave us a helper or counsellor we call Holy Spirit. Also, Peter, a jew, had a vision of a blanket covered in food forbidden to him and the instruction to eat it.
Personally I was in my 30s before I admitted to God that he existed. I felt ashamed that I had argued against him so long. But Jesus did the work so that I am forgiven.
In our church a retired pastor sits in the congregation and if he heard nonsense being preached would very likely dicuss the matter or even arrange to be at the pulpit himself.
Tom, it's not a hard struggle for us, we know. Thank you.

Jeremiah 2: 11~13 pretty much sums up the current spiritual health and status of the "intuitional ecclesiastical church system." The "spirit of the "Zeit-geist" has not only captured it, but those captivated by it love it so. I'm pretty sure the statement once made by "Jesus" concerning the "Church" is reality even today. He said; "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."

New Covenant Whole Gospel: How many modern Christians cannot honestly answer the questions below?
Who is the King of Israel in John 1:49? Is the King of Israel now the Head of the Church, and are we His Body? Who is the “son” that is the “heir” to the land in Matthew 21:37-43? Why did God allow the Romans to destroy the Old Covenant temple and the Old Covenant city, about 40 years after His Son fulfilled the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34 in blood at Calvary?
What the modern Church needs is a New Covenant Revival (Heb. 9:10) in which members of various denominations are willing to re-examine everything they believe and see if it agrees with the Bible, instead of the traditions of men. We need to be like the Bereans. It will be a battle between our flesh and the Holy Spirit. It will not be easy. If you get mad and upset when someone challenges your man-made Bible doctrines, that is your flesh resisting the truth found in God's Word. Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. What brings all local churches together into one Body under the blood of Christ? The answer is found below.
Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him.
He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth.
Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? What did Paul say about Genesis 12:3 in Galatians 3:8, 3:16? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis?
Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart.
Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36)
We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24.
1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
God is not now a “racist”. He has extended His love to all races of people through the New Covenant fulfilled by His Son’s blood at Calvary. The Apostle Paul warned against using “genealogies” in our faith in 1 Tim. 1:4, and Titus 3:9.
The following verses prove the Holy Spirit is the master teacher for those now in the New Covenant.
Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
Mar 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

well, i've been to a lot of different churches in my life, taken the different classes, interacted with their leadership and members, read their statements of beliefs, prayed with them (and yep, some of the churches i went to didn't consider themselves "Christian" (some were "cultish" and some referred to themselves as "christian-like) nor did other churches consider them "Christian" )). .. i figured that to understand them then you've got "get in with them".... now, here's the deal ... each church is kinda different and then each congregation is different and then each member is different and they all change with time... at some point, they're very strict and then at some other point, they're able to rationalize anything... now, that's something that's pretty much true in all religions and in all beliefs (even those that deny God ) and in all nations and peoples and persons (to include myself), time changes your understandings (although you may not sense that change)...
now, i do have a strong belief of God and His teaching/lessons/ revelations/ miracles/ inspirations.. He created all this (ya know)...so, anyway, my point is that individual understanding is different for each individual, it is NOT universal and time and experience of the individual has a big part in that understanding..so as an individual, i try to live by some simple rules (cause i'm just a simple man)_ and here's a question that i ask myself everyday is this "am i a good person doing bad things or am i a bad person trying to do good things?", now, i never have been able to really answer that question fully nor can i truly apply that question on others... i have to live with it and know that God judges me and my efforts... maybe at some point, i'll have my answer but it'll be "time will tell"...so my advice to anyone is this... have faith, try to do the good deeds that God inspires you with and when you screw up then repent, say you're sorry and try to make it better and if you're forgiven then more the better... but just keep trying

Whether or not a person "would make a good parent" is perhaps one criteria for consideration by people looking for a marriage partner, but it is not the most important consideration. Nor are childless persons any less Christian because they are not parents. I don't know if that is what you are saying, but if so, I think you (and J.D. Vance) are wrong.

    • @livingsimplewithtom9539
      @livingsimplewithtom9539  2 месяца назад +1

Not Chuck, the most important consideration is does the person they're interested in love the Lord with all of their heart, but I wasn't going to get into that right then. I just wanted to give a little tip, or a tip that could easily be passed on, that might help some young people out there get started on the right path rather than letting lust choose who they like. And as for parents, that's why I threw in "or potential parents" and that includes people of all ages. Mrs River and I don't have children and every time she's says we're never going to have children I remind her that Sarah said the same thing. And if it's God's will that we don't have any that will be just fine to. But we all always have the potential to be parents no matter what our age, Abraham proved that. And we should always be the type of people that would be good parents even if we never have any children. And I'll look into it what you said about Vance, but I doubt that's what he meant?

HW, people can use the Bible to justify absolutely anything they want to. But that doesn't make it ok for us to do that or to take things out of context so that we can. And the only way out of that is the literal application of scripter. Those same people would have a really hard time justifying slavery if they also had to literally "do unto others as they would have others do unto them." And without the literal application of all parts of scripter then the Bible is nothing more than a good read from the past. The whole point of the Bible is to show us how to literally live as God wants us to live, as difficult as they can be at times.

Couple of things; 1) a homosexual (but you don't know he's a homosexual) believes on the Messiah Yashua at a sunday morning service. Is he saved? According to scripture, he is. Does he automatically stop homosexual tendecies? I doubt it. Doesn't that come in the sanctification process? Where does the church draw the line? Well that answer can be found in 1Cor5:1-13. Same for a drunkard, a covetous person, etc etc. 2) that homosexual is just as much saved as you and I are. By believing in Yashua a new creature is created, the old creature has pased away, behold all things are new. Are we perfect? In God's eyes yes. We have become the righteousness of God in Christ ( Rom_3:22). I didn't use to feel this way and I suppose I would have a hard time with it were it to happen at my local assembly. And I would have to deal that person as a brother or sister that has fallen back. But God has made a way through church discipline to deal with sin in the church and if the one in sin does not repent after being discharged from the assembly, bad thins will happen to that individual to bring about their repentence.

The root of the problem is that when people talk about "the Bible" they mean several bibles that they can pick and choose from. Then those "the Bible" are self contradictory and contradict each other, people conclude that it's not a reliable revelation of God's will.
There is a "the Bible" in which only eight verses have been changed, compared to the King James Version (KJV) to expunge the sin of homosexuality called the Queen James Version. Guess what, the New King James Version has changed just as many verses related to that doctrine though it doesn't do quite as good at expunging it.
Then there is the issue of women as ordained ministers.
"Greet Andronicus and Junia, my fellow Jews who have been in prison with me. They are outstanding among the apostles, and they were in Christ before I was." Romans 16:7 from the New International Version (NIV).
It's claimed by some that Junia was a female and that since she was "outstanding among the apostles" she must have been an apostle. If that were true, it would pretty condone female ordained ministers.
"Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me." Roman 16:7 (KJV).
The KJV just says Junia was well known to the apostles.
And here is something the vast majority of Christians ignore that's in every bible I've looked at.
"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it." Exodus 20:8-11 (KJV).

Martin, it's so ironic that you mentioned the 4th commandment because I plan on discussing that very soon. And yes there are many different versions of the Bible and sadly I worry that some will try really hard to make it say what they want it to rather than giving an honest interpretation. And for myself I go by the King James but I do understand that it has been changed as well over the years.

@@livingsimplewithtom9539 The first KJV was printed in the Germanic typeface. It wasn't long before the Roman typeface that we have now was used. There were MANY changes in spelling and quite a few in punctuation but very few in words or word order. You will get the very same doctrine from the first edition of the KJV as the one you'll get now.
Over the years there were a few misprints. In one, the commandment "Thou shalt not commit adultery." was changed to "Thou shalt commit adultery." The owner of the printing establishment that printed it lost his printing license and spent some time in prison. That Bible was called "the wicked Bible." I have one called "the child killer Bible" in which instead of saying, "let the children first be filled" it says, "let the children first be killed."
The first KJV Bibles had the Apocrypha and some make a big deal out of that. The Apocryphal books in those Bibles are by themselves between the Old and New Testaments and at the top of each page it says "Apocrypha." If you look up the meaning of "Apocrypha" in a dictionary you'll find it means something not entirely reliable.

I understand where you are coming from but I believe it is based upon ignorance and the traditions of man that have been handed down. The issue is that the Bible is not black and white and has to be negotiated through the lens of Jesus Christ who is the true revelation of who God is and his character. There are many voices in the Bible. It is not one consistent voice. This is the error of conservatives and evangelicalism. Conservatives believe they don't negotiate scripture which could not be further from the truth. Paul said, slaves obey your masters. The Bible does not outright condemn slavery. This is why ministers in the Southern United States used the Bible to uphold slavery.

Trying to use the Bible to justify what "we" want is neither liberal nor conservative. That's just human nature and none of us are immune from that. And that's the problem with not taking what it says literally. If we are just going to use a feel good interpretation then who's interpretation do we use? You think it means this and I think it means that so what we end up arguing about is which one of us is right when it's neither if the Bible clearly says something else that we are both ignoring. And the example you gave of people trying to use the Bible to justify slavery in the past is a good example. The Bible never says slavery should be practiced or is a good thing but what it does clearly say is to treat others as we would treat ourselves. So anyone trying to use the Bible to justify slavery are jumping through the same theological hopes as the people that are trying to justify a multitude of clearly defined sins as suddenly ok because we can't take the Bible literally.

@@livingsimplewithtom9539 The age old excuse is people just want to justify sin. Let's take polygamy as an example. Every Christian I know is against polygamy and believes the Bible is crystal clear, but it is still practiced by Christians in Africa in a different culture. All the patriarchs of the Bible were polygamist. You could say they were sinning, but God blessed them somehow, but the problem is in the Bible you have God telling David if he didn't have enough wives he would have given him more. So no the Bible is not clear about certain "so called" sins. 2 Samuel 12:8. Many evangelicals and go through theological hoops around this, but the text doesn't say otherwise.
