Thanks for the tutorial! When deleting the barrel top polygons, I used the circular selection tool to select all the polygons inside the barrel, then inverted the selection and deleted all the exterior polygons. Saved quite a bit of time!
Chris Bence I tried the same, but found it difficult to judge how big to make the circle. The tops of the side beams hang over the lid, so I couldn't see where the outline of the lid should be.
蘇子翔 instead of providing a link with images of the render settings, ive saved a preset file of the render settings and also the render studio, i'm not sure if it will work for any version of 3ds max other than 3DS Max 2014 with V Ray 3.0. The studio is a .max file and to load the render preset all you do is go to render settings (F10) and then at the bottom it says Preset:. press the option next to it and press load preset, then just load up the file Download Link: www.dropbox.com/s/qpjz9rz1s5s1unf/3DS%20Max%202014%20Render%20Studio%20and%20Setting%20Preset.rar?dl=0 Hope this works well for you :)
ok!!!!!!!! i'll try it out ~it so kind of you to do this ~ god bless u hahaha ~i'll make more people know ur tube in return ~i guess thats only what i can do for now ~ thank you very much again!!!
Hi! Really cool work! I'm having a crack at it myself but i'm having this strange problem... at 1:29 you rotated the bed modify gizmo, but when i do it, the gizmo keeps stretching and to doesn't let me bend like you did... Any help?
Hello , at minute 1:29 after giving Bend a barrel is not equal to his , instead of staying with barrel-shaped , it becomes a cylinder , you know? How do I solve? I did exactly like you, but failed.
Haha I don't know I'm always looking for more ways to model something then do what YOU want : it's nice to do something for the audience, but hey if you like what you do, it will be even better ;)
Games Defined mate this wouldn't do too great in a game or animation/simulation. It's good practice generally to keep the poly count as low as is necessary. You could just use a smooth shader to give the appearance of more polies.

蘇子翔 you're welcome my friend. Anything to help our subbers :) I really appreciate you spreading our channel about, that would be fantastic :)
What was the program at the end??
now i know what kind of high poly is,you do a great job
what vray do you use? im beginner modeling by the way
Thank you for that compliment :) and the version of V Ray that I use is version 3.0 for 3DS Max 2014
Amazing!
Thank you very much :)
HOW WILL YOU UNWRAP IT
at 5:14
do you work on these in photoshop after modeling and present them like this ? or these are materials from 3dsmax?is this vray light actually?
This is just rendered in 3ds max using V Ray. No post production work has gone Into this :)

Firstly thank you for the comment and secondly try chain the axis in the bend modifier. That uses causes the problem you're having. Hope that helps :)
Thank you so so much!!!!! BARRELS ARE THE BEST!
KashHDgaming you are very welcome glad to help :)

Hello that's awesome!! Do you have a step by step process of this ? I'm a beginner :)
Good work , but at next time please record your models slowly for starter , like me :)
Mustafa Sankar thank you. I will be doing an actual tutorial video on this one day soon so ill link it to you
Games Defined Thanks sir :)
Awesome!
harken Thanks Harken! Glad you like it :)
As soon as I see the video is Sped Up, I closes it
That's fair enough but it did give it away in the title
Can you make a tutorial; step by step
Interesting...
+Andrew Smith Thanks, I think? Haha
Ooops. :v
Ye, Andrew made the same identical barrel years ago, same process
Nice!
Cheers!
Dude Thanx for upload......But its very fast difficult to catch
nice
😳WOW
Could one do that in blender to?
I dont use blender so I couldn't myself but It can be done, someone on RUclips should have a tutorial on it
Thx :D
It's a lot faster and easier in Blender.
But how?
Why so many polys? HOLY SHIT
Because its a high poly object with detail :D

CTM Podcast youre definitely right, except this was created as a high poly model, not intended to be used in games/animation
Ye dude it says high poly in the title. Its obviously not going to be for use in games...Purely for rendering purposes, or perhaps a high budget film.
