I bought one of these recently, and this is without doubt my favorite drone. You don't need an App, you don't to calibrate anything. It just works, and it's a joy to fly. You just turn it on, and fly in less than 2 seconds. I was starting to get bored of drone flying because you need to set up the App, calibrate, link to WiFi, worry about sensors etc, but this little thing is just a beautiful and easy way to spend 5 minutes flying a drone without all the hassles.
It is an old drone by today's standards. Perhaps they are just trying it today, or are trying the SCAM drone that is this one, which is being sold for over a $100 and advertized as a DJI Mavic.
Thanks for the review! This really looks like exactly what I'm looking for: small, "stable", adjustable camera angle, and cheap! (Not-the-Mavic!) The adjustable lower camera angle that nobody seems to like, is exactly what I want! I want to use it as an aerial fish finder for kayak fishing (actually more an aerial terrain finder) so I want to look mostly down and around from 50' up. I think I'm going to try to fit a bigger battery, but with the (3) included batteries, 4 or 5 five minute flights should be enuf. More is better. The video is more than adequate and the relative stability even w/o gps is a huge plus. Even the hated wifi connection is another plus for me. Not requiring the conventional tx should let me use a repeater to extend the range. Although I don't need much more than a couple hundred feet, $10 bucks for a repeater and a battery seem like cheap LOS insurance. Finally, cheap because it won't kill me when my waterproofing fails (conformal silicon, corrosionX and bean bag chair stuffing) (that and Im just cheap) Can you shoot any holes in those arguments? Please do!
The only item I would point out is that drones such as this do not have a GPS or bottom sensor for stabilization. This means that if there is the slightest bit of wind, the drone will move in the direction of the wind if you are not keeping it in place while doing something else.
"Stable" in quotes as I don't expect to do anything other than fly when it's airborne. But that's why I got the Hubsan h507a first. Solid hands free position hold even in a good wind and the cheapest "follow me" quad. But won't fly long enuf to make use of it. So a brushless, longer flight time MJX bugs 2w somehow got ordered (great price but its on the slooow boat from China) . Nether of which have downward looking cams. So I got a got a cheap JJRC H31 "submersible" that still needs a camera (?) So while looking for a down looking cam for any of the above, I stumbled into E58 as it was just a tad more than a cam/dvr/tx and battery. Sorry, had to fess up somewhere :-D
I have expensive drones and this E58 is very inexpensive and is fun just for flying - it is perfect just for having fun with nothing complicated, you do not even need your phone unless you wan to use the camera ...Great device for the money. ( you can modify the battery for longer flight times)
I actually bought this drone before i ordered the mavic mini (waiting for China shipping is so dreadful...) looks like a good practice drone with limited range and cool features.
Just starting into quad drones. Spent years building, flying and crashing fixed wing aircraft. Been watching a LOT of your stuff. You are very entertaining and informative: nice combination! I bought a KF101 as my beginner/main drone, but thought I should get something even cheaper and maybe a little more of a challenge to keep airborne, so picked the E58 up. Not here yet, and it's pretty frigid up here in northern New England, but looking forward to learning. Thank you for all these wonderful reviews. I now have a list of at least 1/2 dozen drones I now want to buy. Unfortunately, my new Samsung S21+ doesn't support DJI: very bummed. Keep it up Captain.
that kill motor/acrobat thing has caused problems for me, when you want to kill the drone, you kill it instantly, not wait a couple of seconds until it hits a tree or something else the main negative is that either this drone gets pushed around by the wind or (for my case) and an odd gyro that keeps messing up after a simple turn or movement
Found 5 of these NIB w/ carrying case at a flea market for USD$30 with 2 batteries each... Needless to say, I bought all of them! These have become my favorite drone to fly and at that price, I have one RTF in each of my vehicles. With 4 kids and a ton of scenic places nearby, I want to be ready to snap an aerial shot or capture video footage on the fly... :P
I ordered this and they sent me the wrong one. It doesnt have the logo and the cover for the battery compartment of the controller doesnt open and when i charge the battery, it puffs up..
There's something interesting about this drone. Some company (or companies) have put ads in social media for a clone of this (not mavic, the Eachine one). The clone is pretty much the same Eachine, I believe, but they are selling it for a whopping 99 usd, some people report buying it also for 99 euro. They are calling this "fancy" version the Drone X Pro, and the exact same can be found on eBay for about 35-45 USD. I could find a couple videos on youtube of people that bought that 99usd/euro and published vids frustrated with what they got. As you said, that's a toy drone, nothing fancy to expect from it other than what you shown in your review. Well, you missed mentioning the FPV, that you can actually see the drone video "live", that's something worth noting.
Yep, saw the ad on YT and thought "what the heck". Wanted to try out drones and that 99USD seemed reasonable for what they advertised. NO memory card on board :( however, the silver lining was that I began researching (after the proverbial horse was already out of the proverbial barn) found lots of information including and especially CD so I am now a much wiser and informed consumer. I'll keep it for play and am planning on my next 2 or 3 upgraded quads, even though I have discovered that I am in the 5 mile radius of about 6 or 7 airports (small grass runways and small commercial ones). sigh Oh yes, forgot to mention that I did NOT discuss my drone purchase with my son who uses HIS Mavic 2 Pro for realtor vids. 2 strikes against me but I'm studying US Part 107 now.
I made the mistake of buying one of those. I really didn't know anything about the drone industry and had no idea that there were cheap, entry-level drones. I also made the mistake of believing their story suggesting some engineer left DJI (they didn't use the name) to make higher quality drones than what those had become. It is uncontrollable. It takes off forward and won't respond to the controls. I watched a video about adjusting it, but that didn't make any difference. It was only then that I discovered it is just a knock-off of the Eachine knock-off.
I got one of these for 30 usd but it can’t get it to connect my phone to the drone. Any advise? Does signal have anything to do? Cool drone to practice
11 days ago I purchased a bugs 4w from geekbuying and noticed after unpacking the gimbal is not straight but leaned making the camera point to the left. Is this drone faulty because I haven't used it yet?
What does the clone battery weigh? Thinking about getting this and doing a single 18650 conversion. But if the 18650 out weighs the cheap lipo then it probably won’t work at all.
I flew an much older camera platform drone last year in a snow storm... if you have time please check out the flight thanks !! ruclips.net/video/mscHeXmtmfQ/видео.html
CAPTAIN DRONE hello Captain, it was because of the snow.. but you know, it wasn’t that cold, and I was suffering from cabin fever lol.. hey thank you so much for watching and all of your awesome reviews and tips..
I have this drone and can't seem to get it fired up, I downloaded the app and tried the one button launch with no luck, I'm not the sharpest pencil in the drawer though, who know the easiest way to get this flying? Please and Thank you
Rick Dynesius Yes, it connects quickly to the controller no matter where you are. Also if you forget the controller you can fly it via your cell phone or tablet. Min 14 year old is the recommended age.
Hey, would you say this is a good starter drone for people who just want to dip their toes in the water? I know you made a video on that but I'm just curious. Thanks
It depends because all drones have a purpose, hence why they all have different features. If you want a good toy drone with a 720p camera and easy to fly then this one is good along with many others. I
LOL. Don't know how I ended up seeing this older video of yours.. but.. You must have been one of the lucky owners of this E58. They are terrible outside. Camera quality is on par with a potato. The props don't push on. They screw on. ;). I almost feel like a troll . For commenting on this... BUT, I had a good laugh. I bought one of these a few years ago for my 8yr old daughter. Luckily, she crashed it into the lake. I purchased her a Mavic Mini a few days later and... Thank god I did. This Eachine drone almost killed my daughters love for drones. She's 10 now and fly's her own Air2s. I fly a Mavic 3... A bigger potato.
Back when this E58 first came on the market (look at the date of the vid), it was actually high tech for the size & price. Technology moves fast. What is awesome today in a drone will seem old tech 12 months from now.
It has a flight hold, like most toy drones, so when you raise it and release the joystick, it will stay at the height. If it drifts, it will drift due to wind. If you are indoors and it drifts and you are not near walls (prop wash blowing back), then you can use the trim controls to fix the drift so that it stays stable when you release the joysticks.
This may be the most frivolous comment you get to a very nice video but since I ordered one in the Black Friday sale how long does it take Banggood for fulfillment? I'm ready to get my hands on it and fly the little beast.
Life on Trehan Creek If they are in stock it should be just a day. I'd send them an email to fund out what the holdup is. Shipping is a different matter. If you select a courier service it is fast. If you select a postal service it is not so fast. Most items take about a week to reach me where I live.
I ordered my drone 11 days ago. It was shipped from Thailand 2 days ago. We will see how long it takes to arrive. If shipping from Thailand is the normal practice, I think that should be clearly spelled out to the consumer. While I didn't specify courier service, I probably would have if I had known where the drone was to be shipped from there. I guess I am a little itchy for it and don't really like having to wait so long. I'll probably have watched every Eachine video on You Tube by the time it gets here!
Life on Trehan Creek I use to order items with free shipping from all the Asian distributors. Each time, everything did arrive to North America but it took 2 to 4 months! I now pay a few extra $$ to get items shipped via courier and it takes about 3 to 5 days (big difference).
This is my third e58 Drone! The first one I was able to connect the Drone to my phone via the app then it flew out of range and I lost it! The second one I was never able to connect to the app and promptly lost that one! And now the third one I have shows that the Drone is indeed connected via the Wi-Fi on my LG Android Phone but still will not connect to the app! I have tried, Wi-Fi_Cam which the qr-code led me to from the Play Store! JY UFO and Emachine TEC! All of which show that my Wi-Fi is connected to my Android phone but when I go to the app it will not connect to the Drone or the Camera! (Please connect your wi-fi devise) what am I doing wrong?
I just got this drone. Although it would connect to the drone wifi just fine it would not connect to the app until I disable Mobile data on my phone. Then it connects just fine. I stared using it with an old phone that has no regular cell service. I also disable (forget) all other wifi on the phone so it will defaut to the drone wifi when I turn it on.
I have not flown the upgrade version. The original is a budget drone with brushed motors so there is not much to expect from it. If the video lag is terrible it could be the APP or your phone.
Like most toy drones, the resolution of a photo is pretty much just a frame of a video. So, although the photo looks good, it is probably at a resolution of 2 megapixel. The original DJI Mavic will give you that super high quality 12 megapixel photo.
I had buy this drone in the month of december 2019 , after a pair days of use of this drone the same has stopped to fly. After about six months i discovered the cause of failure . I opened the engine B and i discovered that the material with which it is made is not good the teeth of the engine gear got ruined. It is possibly that it has been made with simple plastic not with teflon. I wanted to sign you this failure for a next future to improved this teeth of the engine gear. For this reason I could not use this drone anymore.
Those are very different drones. The Tello has sensors on it to stay still in the air and does not come with a controller. The Eachine E58 is designed to be a fun drone to fly around and look like a Mavic.
Lee Downie Sounds like a WiFi issue. These toy drones have everything pretty much on a small circuit board with small chips. They are suseptible to moisture & the first problem when moisture is encountered is the WiFi connection.
technical masterji No, it only records video. If you're interested in Mavic clone drones, I just reviewed a different model that is also really nice. The review should be viewable on RUclips tomorrow.
Did you get the drone or controller wet? They come already connected. If there is no procedure in the manual on how to bind the controller, you will have to contact the company.
Max range would be around 70 meters. It all depends on the reception/signal from your WiFi device (phone or tablet). If you block the signal with your hand or a case, you get less range.
What an ironic twist, Eachine made a mini clone of a Mavic Pro, now DJI is making a clone of the Eachine E58. Or is DJI making a Clone of their own Pro? I'm so confused, it's like a paradox.
Didn't you do a review of a Dronex Pro ? now that there is all this talk of it being a scam, Suddenly I can't find ANYONE doing a review of it. Supposedly, the Dronex Pro is in reality a straight copy of the Eachine E58.....is that true ?
Yes it is the E58. The SCAM is for people who are new to drones and have no clue how the drone market works. If any human on earth wishes to run a drone scam, they just have to purchase 500 drones from China that are last years model at $1 per unit and then create a video, webpage, etc and sell them at $100 a unit. This happens more often than you know.
Reports are out that DJI is going to release a Mavic mini under 250g ....... maybe there using this copy and re- copying it to improve it ...... 😂😂😂 from the release pictures people are posting it will look very similar but obviously far better ........ what your opinion buddy 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
2:13 Looks more like the L is a T to me... I bought one of these just for the Cute Factor after I bought my Mavic Pro... 7:00 You didn't demonstrate the RTH feature...
Your comments have a pro DJI to them. Instead of stating "based on PRICE" the information on this drone, you kick it for not being a full sized Mavic. That is much like politicians do and news media. Don't slant opinions based on much more expensive drones for comparison unless you state a $400 vs $58 drone cost. What would you expect? I prefer when you do these demonstrations you are more fair or honest about who funds you and gives you equipment. just be totally fair. Don't compare a Pinto to a Rolls Royce and say well they both have 4 wheels and an engine. FYI PS: It is now marketed as a S70 drone with 4k and 3 axis for $58.00 just a FYI.
I believe the company that made this drone, made it as a copy of a DJI MAVIC, hence the comparison. Anyone with the slightest amount of knowledge of a DJI MAVIC would know that the price difference places this drone in the toy category compared to the real deal. Still, it is a fun drone and unfortunately many shady people have sold it on FACEBOOK as a MAVIC CLONE for big $$ and a sucker is born every minute... and purchased it as such. Lots of news articles and reports about this.
Nice video! Not called the emolion drone its called the emotion drone.

Yeah lol...
I have reviewed the Mavic Mini also. 👍 Terrific results. Great Drone. 🍻
I got one of these for 30 usd but it can’t get it to connect my phone to the drone. Any advise? Does signal have anything to do? Cool drone to practice
thank you so much ,this is best i suppose for start.
Is there a way to control the camera gimbal or is it not controlled by remote?
You can not control the camera gimbal (there is no motor in it). This is one of many reasons why the drone is so very inexpensive.
11 days ago I purchased a bugs 4w from geekbuying and noticed after unpacking the gimbal is not straight but leaned making the camera point to the left. Is this drone faulty because I haven't used it yet?
When you power it on it should right itself. Gimbals are very fragile, so don't play with it.
What does the clone battery weigh? Thinking about getting this and doing a single 18650 conversion. But if the 18650 out weighs the cheap lipo then it probably won’t work at all.

I believe on this controller the buttons are fixed, you can not reassign them.
Is there any hands off stability or does it have to be constantly flown?
It has a flight hold, like most toy drones, so when you raise it and release the joystick, it will stay at the height. If it drifts, it will drift due to wind. @@CAPTAINDRONE798 hi again .just saying .i tried downloading a few different apps but non worked .only the scan code on the manual app worked
What about photo resolution? 12mp?
Like most toy drones, the resolution of a photo is pretty much just a frame of a video. So, although the photo looks good, it is probably at a resolution of 2 megapixel. The original DJI Mavic will give you that super high quality 12 megapixel photo.
IMO this is genius for a guy with a mavic and a kid. Get the kid the mavic mini and he can head out to the field and fly with you.
Dunno why but my e58 drone doesn't have a camera that big and doesn't have a signature on it.
Drone newbie here
I had buy this drone in the month of december 2019 , after a pair days of use of this drone the same has stopped to fly. For this reason I could not use this drone anymore.
had a bunch of these never had much success getting them to fly right ( ie crashed in 10 secs or less !) maybe needed gps or something, IDK
What about the sd card what size?
Sir tell me that what should i buy tello or eachine e58
Those are very different drones. The Tello has sensors on it to stay still in the air and does not come with a controller. The Eachine E58 is designed to be a fun drone to fly around and look like a Mavic.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 so for video graphy which is best in cheap price
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 sir one more thing can i fly jjrc x9 without wifi or with my phone data connection
Thats where they get the name Mavic Mini
Mine no longer syncs on the app & sometimes the remote & drone do not communicate. Disappointed!
Lee Downie Sounds like a WiFi issue. These toy drones have everything pretty much on a small circuit board with small chips. They are suseptible to moisture & the first problem when moisture is encountered is the WiFi connection.
Does it record audio with Video ?????
technical masterji No, it only records video. If you're interested in Mavic clone drones, I just reviewed a different model that is also really nice. The review should be viewable on RUclips tomorrow.
my drone and the remote doesnt bind what do you think is the problem?
Did you get the drone or controller wet? They come already connected. If there is no procedure in the manual on how to bind the controller, you will have to contact the company.
It looks just like my dronex?
Why does e camera keep on going green
Please suggest me a drone containing all the points below:
1. Under 100$
2. Camera
3. Verry good stability
4. A bit long flight 15 min+ (optional)
Ryze tello, only alright one in this price range
Emotion, not EmoLion. I see your use of humour there...Haha
Please watch more of my videos.... It is part of my dry sense of humor :-)
whats the max range?
Max range would be around 70 meters. It all depends on the reception/signal from your WiFi device (phone or tablet). If you block the signal with your hand or a case, you get less range.
"emotion"
I put a micro set card in the slot and it fell inside!
Seems like it mimics fpv drone functions lol
emo lion haha
good name choice
Captain drone can I get drone plz😔🙏🙏from Philippines I wish I have a drone plzzzzzzz 🙏🙏 my birthday is November 13
What an ironic twist, Eachine made a mini clone of a Mavic Pro, now DJI is making a clone of the Eachine E58. Or is DJI making a Clone of their own Pro? I'm so confused, it's like a paradox.
Is it can vr
Yes
I got extra 2 battery
Its not a mavic pro mini why do you say that in beginning
5:05 it's a bit glitchy but it's ok
It doesn't say EmoLion, it says Emotion :P Oh my...
That was my attempt at humour.
Your trying to open it like a mavic😂
I have a serious question: Why are you calling it toy drone?
Toy drones have BRUSHED motors
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 what does brushed means hahahaha
@@onepeace661 its a toy Grade drone meaning it's mainly something for kids to play around with and not a $1000 drone like a dji mavic
Its emotion not emolion
Didn't you do a review of a Dronex Pro ? now that there is all this talk of it being a scam, Suddenly I can't find ANYONE doing a review of it. Supposedly, the Dronex Pro is in reality a straight copy of the Eachine E58.....is that true ?
Not me, but I have been asked about it over hundred times in the past year and in every response of mine I said it was a SCAM.
Something is coming for certain.
2:13 Looks more like the L is a T to me... I bought one of these just for the Cute Factor after I bought my Mavic Pro...
7:00 You didn't demonstrate the RTH feature...
lasersbee You are correct. I was just being silly. I guess I missed the RTH function.
Emotion not emolion xd
Yeah, I was trying to be funny.
There is nothing wrong with the quad and it's fantastic value, but the transmitter is a joke.
Mavik
Lots of news articles and reports about this.
video quality is terrible
Video quality over WiFi was not great, but video quality direct to a micro SD card is really good! I show an example at the end of the video.
big problem is the missing stabilisation...
True, but at the price point it is one of the better drones on the market
Micro sd card!!
hi vendeme el mavic pro 76429658 plis

It is definitely not worth the money!
