    The only real way to determine if the bite actually is slow is to go fishing. If the bite IS slow, there is nowhere better to complain about it than on the water.

    • @RiverCertified
      @RiverCertified  10 месяцев назад +2

      I can get behind that logic. Not the complaining part, but definitely figuring out if the bite is slow.

    I had one literally yank the rod outta my hands once. I was sitting and cast out a two pound live carp and before it hit bottom a forty pound flatty ripped it outta my hands. Luckily it hooked itself on the rod holder on the way out and i retrieved it. Noticed on your bumping pattern alot of your fish are coming from transitions where mud meets rock. Weve always been a fan of those spots especially when nothing else seems to work. Man you're learning and i hope you journal. Weather, barometer, temp and water temp date and times. I used to do it for years and youd be amazed when you go back and look. Gave mine to my son few years back and if he's done with ill send em to you so you can compare. Great vid and keep your powder dry and your pantry stocked young man 💪😎🙏🏻

    • @RiverCertified
      @RiverCertified  10 месяцев назад

      The coolest part of that story is you got lucky and caught the fish. There's a little more to the pattern, but that's definitely a big part of it right now. I keep a spreadsheet and I put all that information on there. It's not as nice to read as a journal, but it makes it easy to put the info in and easy to go back and review it. I'd rather go fishing with ya and ask ya questions than get your journal. The fact that you offered that means a ton. I appreciate it a ton sir!

    Spencer that fish you caught at somewhere around 10:10 and let at 11:33 lol 😂 😂 I don't know how you didn't lose your pole shit that was awesomely close though. Anyways what do you mean small? I know you're as strong or maybe even stronger then me. I verify a big fish like this, If I use two hands to pick up a fish that is in a net? That's a big fish. It looked like you was having a pretty hard time handling that fish in particular on a mental scale he looked to be about 55 or 60 pounds I'm probably off about 10lbs NICE FISH MAN IT MADE ME GET MY NEW ROD AND REEL OUT AND LOOK AT DREAMMINGLY THAT I HAVEN'T USED YET. I don't remember which one I called small. Any blue under 10 lbs I'd call small, at least by bluecat standards. Once you get into the 20 or 30 lb range, that's a pretty darn nice fish for me. Hope you get to put that rod to the test soon.

    Would you ever consider trying 2 different baits on one hook?
    Or using a stinger hook for the purpose of using 2 different baits at once to see which bait may work?

    Hey Spencer , I’m assuming the holes in the dorsal fin they were tagged

      @RiverCertified  10 месяцев назад

      Maybe, I thought they tagged them around the bone of their fins or in the flesh besides them.

      They don't make them anymore unfortunately. My next one will be a MulTbar mount.

    What low profile reels are you using for the bouncing? What’s your thoughts on bouncing baits in a kayak? Fishing isn’t new to me but bouncing baits are a “little” new to me. Drifting, floats etc I get

    • @RiverCertified
      @RiverCertified  10 месяцев назад

      Reel is linked in the description. You would need a trolling motor to bump how I am. Doing it in a kayak in fast current like this is possible, but could get dangerous if you snag or hook a really big one. Be careful man.

      I don't right now. I have black hooded windbreakers/rain jackets. I just don't have the money to have a big inventory and had to draw the line somewhere. I appreciate the birthday wishes man!

    What’s the name of that crank bait? Is it supposed to look like a cut throat or a panfish?

    • @RiverCertified

      It's a 112. Your new boat would be fine with an 80 lb.

    • @RiverCertified
      @RiverCertified  10 месяцев назад

      All the catfish I've seen have been tagged in the meat beside the dorsal fin. I believe it depends on the species and style of tag though.

      I got to catch a few 30 lbers last fall. After that, thinking about a 60 lber is hard to fathom.
