Congratulations! Nice job Dan ! Excellent work and analysis. I am working on a Advantest R3265 spectrum analyzer and it is very complex. I will analyze the power supply first (OEM no schematic ) and then check the 25 MHz signal because the unit cannot be calibrated. I have already noticed a drop coming from the synthesizer stage where the signal is generated. But now I have encountered a problem with intermittent noise when the unit heats up. I also noticed a smell from capacitors that might have been damaged due to the heating. This analyzer is more than 30 years old, so it is advisable to replace the capacitors in the power supply and probably in the stage where the 25 MHz signal is generated.
I watched your video carefully! Very informative and well done video. One can easily follow the reasoning leading you to find and solve the fault. I am happy for you that you were able to solve this problem...the E4407B is a great instrument. I will be lucky enough to have an E4407B (not received yet), I know it is defective, but it is a gift, I can only be happy to receive this gift. If you have a link to tell us where you found the wiring diagrams, it would be appreciated.
Hello, thank you for the explanation. What is the transistor reference ?
I Am a hobbyiest and let me say the way you and the steps you toked are very professional 👌
Congratulations! Nice job Dan !

This is bloody, foo-king, GREAT ! ....................._____Thanks for all your hard work & analysis on this RF section of instrument.
Nice one Dan - I especially enjoyed following your diagnosis

Great video. Please make more :)
Sir I am also facing LO unlock problem plz send RF section block diagram along
With testing procedure
Thanks
Dear Dan,
Good Day!
i have same LO unlock problem, can we know approximate repair cost(only Spares)
Good video. I recently bought a E4407B myself, and was wondering where you got the component level schematics from?
Attracted by the thumbnail !
