The premise of this story.....Irene Ware playing Mary Beekman.... is putting herself forward as chattel (I'm being discrete). She is the embodiment of the "Pygmalion" effect; but, in reality, this is a cut-out version of the often parodied gold-diggers. Chain-smoking, alcohol abuse, and deception....no wonder there was a second world war. Great gem of a film....thank you for archiving and posting.
