can't stop crying during this whole version ... thanks liszt for having transcribed it in a perfect way. thanks lise for playing it like if bach and liszt were inside your soul.
Wonderful performance. It is refreshing to hear a pianist break away from crowd of Bach purist (this is a transcription after all). Bach is great music no matter how it is played. This performance is well worth listening to. A pianist to watch.
The part starting at 6:23 is really incredible!!! can't stop listening ang gives me incredible shivers!!!!! Bravo Lise!!!! Listend to other versions of this prelude and she is the only one providing this kind of effect!!!!!
I was always taught that if you cannot say something nice, then do not say anything at all. There is never any reason to be rude, especially to omeone who you may not even know. I find her interpretation of this transcription was well thought out and played quite beautifully. I also find her quite beautiful.
I always loved this fugue, but I loved it how it sounds in my head from the score. She is the first pianist from whom I like as it sounds on piano. Really great!
Marvellous classic piece, played with virtuosistic masterly, high class and grace and deep soul!!!!!! Talentful pianist👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍. Greetings from Italy 🇮🇹😊👋
She is just Fast Perfect To play Piano,(wy Fast?, because only the Infinity is 100% Perfect),and specially J.S.Bach and his cosmological Music for all Times. I love the Way she plays classic Music.
~ Wow! That was absolutely beautiful! Any naysayers criticising the lovely woman's technique for not being true to Bach's interpretation could consider the naysayers of the mid 1850's or so. There would have been those who would have thought that this could/should only be played on a harpsichord. Lise de la salle, you obviously have the expertise to make this piece work with your incredibly clean pedaling technique as well as your overall mastery of the keyboard. Brava to you! Ron ( ;-} >
An absolute new entry in my collection of rarely performed bachian works.Thx,for posting. I guess F.Liszt personally would appreciate this rendition.I dont't like this work but I did appreciate this performance.
The fugue is insanely hard to play, i can speak of experience. Its even harder for her cause she has tiny hands, you can hear some passages were she must delay the bass from the rest of the notes because her hand is to little to reach it
you'd have never thought that Bach was this intense, but thanks to Liszt, it really doesn't get any better than this. Hats off to La Salle for a most exquisite performance.
Bravo.
Liszt didn't change anything of relevance. He mainly trancsribed the notes played with the pedal on the organ into bass notes on the piano (listen to the organ interpration or check out the sheet which is free on the internet). It remains an orchestral baroque piece throughout. Whatever traits of "romantism" you might find in this work were already there (this is very different of Busoni's "transcription" of the Chaconne). Nothing justifies playing this prelude & fugue in a romantic way.
INSPIRATIONAL,UPLIFTING WITH HARD EARNED DEDICATION IS APPARENT IN THIS BRILLIANTLY PLAYED WORK.I WAS DEEPLY MOVED BY THE PASSION OF IT ALL THANKS FOR SHARING GROS MERCI
I started to weep before the closing of this great transcription. Totally beautiful. Lise plays on a Hamburg "C" Steinway which is an inferior scale design as produced in Germany. The New York Cs were wonderful, balanced and clear. Hamburgs were never correct. Lise needed a great "D" to do her playing justice. Listen to her play Brahms first Concerto to get an idea of how great she is.
I dont said that. The piece is bach.Nothing changes that...But because the transcription made by Liszt the piece has romantic colours. As you said Liszt tried to stay true to Bach. And something else. The piece sounds very very good but the piano is not organ. I think you mean the last section at the end with the bass notes. Anyway amazing transcription.
small hands, big sound! the fugue is well-constructed, she knows how to bank her fires...excellent dynamic contrast and precisely put together. She will go far, amazing ability for one so young. As for the nasty criticisms---a lot of sour grapes from the un-talented whiners!!
I think she is playing consistently with the fact that this is Liszt's transcription, not the original. Re the remark about the piano above, the piano does matter - there are very few pianos that have a decent bottom A, and this isn't one of them. That apart, I loved it (and her).
I think this is Liszt's best guess as to how Bach would have written it if he had made the acquaintance of Mr Steinway. Bach can be high-romantic all by himself (consider the T& F in D-), so I think it's probably a pretty good guess. As to Gould, why can't you like apples and bananas too? I love Gould - and his interpretations are plenty romantic too, very pianistic, lots of rubato. If he had ever condescended to play the Liszt transcriptions, this is how he might have played them.
To use a cliche, Lise de la Salle's Bach is so beautiful it hurts. Her ecstasy, though, is never overbearing. Within her, femininity and gravitas live happily side by side. She has that big, glorious Russian sound without that big, glorious Russian inhibitions. She cannot play Mozart. God works in mysterious ways.
Neo-nothing, this is romantic Bach in the full Busoni tradition, octaves in the bass and all. Ah: at the end we learn it's transcribed by Liszt. Can't get more romantic than that. A great pleasure after all the clattering pseudo-harpsichord Bach I've heard.
can't stop crying during this whole version ...
thanks liszt for having transcribed it in a perfect way.
thanks lise for playing it like if bach and liszt were inside your soul.
SUPERBE...........
Wonderful performance. It is refreshing to hear a pianist break away from crowd of Bach purist (this is a transcription after all). Bach is great music no matter how it is played. This performance is well worth listening to. A pianist to watch.
This is really great. Great transcription and very well played! BachScholar approves!
The part starting at 6:23 is really incredible!!! can't stop listening ang gives me incredible shivers!!!!!
Bravo Lise!!!!
Listend to other versions of this prelude and she is the only one providing this kind of effect!!!!!
I love Lise's artistry, such a beautiful musician, serious and profound. Needs to become better known world-wide. A true master. Blessings to Lise! 🌹
Very good sense of Time: Rhythm, Timing and feeling - all perfect interwoven. We need more musicians with that irresistable sense of "Time".
I was always taught that if you cannot say something nice, then do not say anything at all. There is never any reason to be rude, especially to omeone who you may not even know.
I find her interpretation of this transcription was well thought out and played quite beautifully.
I also find her quite beautiful.
Bach comme ça,oui, merci!Cette pianiste est tout simplement sublime!Un moment,le temps s'arrête!
A truly great performance. I can almost hear the organ sound from this.
20 ans. Elle est superbe!
No A.I., juste B.A.C.H. :)
beautiful playing, loving it
listening to her play this pieace is truely amazing. she is and great pianist.

Best performance I've ever seen of this piece.
Felipe Weissenberg...
Maria Yudina!
Jorge Luis Prats!
Pretty sure you haven't seen much.... try Svetla Protich. head and shoulders above this performance.
She is just Fast Perfect To play Piano,(wy Fast?, because only the Infinity is 100% Perfect),and specially J.S.Bach and his cosmological Music for all Times.
I love the Way she plays classic Music.
Very beautiful interpretation! I enjoy it so much!
disturbingly amazing..
Breathtaking performance
Wow! Almost nothing surprises me in classical music of today but this is quite something.
... la joie de jouer le piano... Merci tellement beaucoup.
An Incredible performance.
merveilleuse interpretation
it's nice hearing this on the piano... played it on the organ today
Très beau ! Très bien joué.

Quel talent !
Beautiful

I love it ! It's like Haha ya cant stop me from playing piano gods
Meravigliosa!!
the final of the fugue ( 6:24 ) gets me every time , so sublim !
you'd have never thought that Bach was this intense, but thanks to Liszt, it really doesn't get any better than this.
Hats off to La Salle for a most exquisite performance.
C'est magnifique
Wow!!! Incredible...
@lourak Undoubtedly it is you - that was absolutely superb

Only for the time she spent to learn play this so quickly, CONGRATS ! Just amazing...
Inmensa composición
Epoustouflant !!!!!!!!!!!
she is incredible,
barvo jolie demoiselle!!

i think its wonderful :)
This is a very good pianistic performance of an organ piece.

This is BWV 543 Preludium and Fugue in A, transcribed by Liszt Ferenc.
I'm in love.
Only one criticism (of either Liszt or Steinway, not Miss Lasalle): I've never yet heard a piano with a good bottom A.
amazing

great!

I liked the last cadenza chords
So Cute 33
Merci! :-)
