Note :
If your Lava Iris 88 S232 is stuck in a "dead" state (not booting, not responding, or stuck on a logo), and you don't have access to a tested firmware, here are some general steps you can try to revive your device. Note that these methods may not guarantee 100% success, but they are commonly used to fix such issues:
1. Soft Reset (Force Restart)
Press and hold the Power button for 10-15 seconds to force restart the device.
If the device doesn't respond, remove the battery (if removable), wait for 10 seconds, reinsert it, and try powering it on again.
2. Boot into Recovery Mode
Press and hold the Volume Up + Power button simultaneously for 10-15 seconds.
If successful, you should enter Recovery Mode.
Use the volume buttons to navigate and the power button to select options.
Choose Wipe Cache Partition and then Reboot System.
3. Factory Reset (Data Loss Warning)
If the device boots into Recovery Mode, select Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
This will erase all data on the device, so proceed with caution.
After the reset, reboot the device.
4. Flash Stock Firmware (SP Flash Tool)
If the above methods fail, you may need to flash the stock firmware using SP Flash Tool. Here's how:
Requirements:
A Windows PC.
SP Flash Tool (download the latest version).
Stock Firmware for Lava Iris 88 S232 (search online for the correct firmware).
USB Drivers for Lava devices (install on your PC).
A USB cable.
Steps:
Download and install the USB drivers and SP Flash Tool on your PC.
Download the correct stock firmware for your device.
Extract the firmware files and open SP Flash Tool.
In SP Flash Tool, load the scatter file (usually named MTxxxx_Android_scatter.txt) from the extracted firmware folder.
Turn off your phone and remove the battery (if removable).
Click Download in SP Flash Tool.
Connect your phone to the PC via USB while holding the Volume Down or Volume Up button (depending on the device).
The flashing process will begin. Wait for it to complete.
Once done, disconnect the phone and power it on.
5. Seek Professional Help
If none of the above methods work, it’s possible that the device has a hardware issue (e.g., damaged motherboard or memory chip). In such cases, visit a professional technician or Lava service center.
Important Notes:
Always use the correct firmware for your device model. Flashing the wrong firmware can permanently damage your phone.
Backup your data before attempting any fixes, as most methods will erase your data.
If you cannot find the firmware online, contact Lava customer support for assistance.
