    This is honestly one of the few features in this series which actually did show something that changed cricket.

    People dissing T20 should understand that it is not competing with Test & ODI formats but with other games like football & rugby which are still shorter than T20. As generations change cricket will have to keep up to survive.

      It does cannibalise on other forms of cricket though. Young children grow up watching this and they don't fully appreciate the intricacies of Test cricket. T20 is short term gains for long term losses.

    3:37 I think this was probably the only genuine format of the game that was not gimmicky but simply short i.e. instead of 50 overs it'd just a 20 overs Innings. Unlike some other formats like the 6s, the 100 or even t10 where the number of players in a team (11) are more than the number of overs in an Innings (10). It's unbelievable that ecb didn't try to launch a Cricket's version of the Premier League Football with it's 18 CCCs. Even after the launch of IPL they didn't. I just hope the Blast is at least rebranded & relaunched as Premier League t20 & promoted aggressively as they're promoting the 100.

    I think all 3 formats are great. T20 is great to attract more audience. But the problem is making flat pitches. If pitches are balance players have to become classy and innovative to score shots than just hitting with power

  • @Munthasir123
    @Munthasir123 2 месяца назад +1

    T-20 redefined cricket. It is slowly killing the old phase of cricket for the new phase of cricket for better or for worse. T-20 is inclusive and brings in more audience at the expense of the spirit of the game.

  •  3 года назад +1

    I'm not against the very concept of T20 - a very athletic form of cricket, with very emphasis in giving the common people a chance to enjoy the game.
    But the only thing I miss in one-day cricket (T20 included) is white flannels. Yes, bring cricket whites and red/pink balls to limited-overs matches. Day/night Tests are a strong testament for my argument.

    T20 cricket destroyed technique and that is the reason batsmen not able to take test matches to 5th day of test match and at the same time decline in batting technique is reason for acquiring results in lot of test matches nowadays, as there are not many drawn test matches. How do you look at it as a positive or negative sign, after all there is no reason to play boring cricket just to draw a test matches after winning first test in a series.
