    This is fantastic coaching! This honestly tells me what I (middle-aged start beer league D) have been doing wrong (i.e. everything! Crossovers, always skate backwards, fear gap ;--) i owe you.

    Managing distance and speed while defending is crucial for me ................ that "sneaky stick" technique look VERY useful, can't wait to try it out. Thanks for helping me polish my game.

    He plays defense the way it's supposed to be played. I would take one Hjalmarrson over 12-Duncan Keith's.

    you really need to ditch the loud music. cant hear it over you talking...also, maybe some way to identify the player you are talking about when you are talking about him? I have no idea who the heck this guy is and you show example after example of one of the 10 players on the ice...

    im curious, why are pro players taught not to do crossovers while skating backwards?

      Soon as you cross you can't move the other way, you're committed to cross the feet so you can't react the other way. This is how most D get beat when you see the highlight reels.
