    I used organic Chicken broth added dark mushrooms a splash of organic Half and Half and finally finished it of with a Cup of finely grated medium Cheddar cheese
    Blended with my Stick blender and it was scrumptious

    Not that many years ago, I thought the heat settings on my cooktop indicated how fast food would cook. I cremated a lot of things on high before I learned otherwise. I say this to convince you that I am *not* a good cook. I followed this recipe to a tee - leaving out the optional half and half - and what I got is a delicious soup that I would have thought beyond my ability. If *I* can do it, you can do it. Dive in. Yum!

    Good recipe. Looks very tasty. Sorry about my last grouchy comment. This is a nice soup actually. I'm going to make it to use up some celery. A leek would probably go well with that too. I don't have dill. I wonder if Marjoram would work since I am growing it in my garden. Maybe Fennel seed ground up as another option. I have both. Going to make this tomorrow. Thank you for a nice demo! Much appreciated. That is a powerful immersion blender, nice.

    • @SavorySaver
      @SavorySaver  10 месяцев назад

      Apology accepted. Thank you for watching. I love the idea of adding leek. If you have fresh Marjoram in your garden I would totally swap that out for the dill. Use the fresh marjaroam readily available in your garden! if you like ground fennel add that as well. Added tiny amounts of garlic, chili powder and chopped ginger (we'll see if my fella thinks that's as tiny as this spice gene queen does lol). It's looking and smelling great. Soup is all about cooking up what you've got that needs used, but there's defo a knack to throwing the right things in together! Thanks for the video 🙂

    • @SavorySaver
      @SavorySaver  Месяц назад

      So souips with dairy in them tend to separate after being frozen. I would try one of two things. 1. Freeze a small portion to see how it does after thawing or 2. Make the soup without adding the dairy to it and freeze. Then after thawing the soup, warm it up and and the dairy at that point so it all warms up together. I know it's an additional step but I think the results may be better that way. I hope this helps and thank you for watching.

      So the one I use in the video is a Rachael Ray enamel coated cast iron pot I got years ago. I think it is a 3 quart pot. In all honesty, I use my red 5 quart one a lot more and it was actually cheaper than the Rachel Ray one. If your looking for one I would look for a 4.5-6 quart one. For an everyday cook, one from walmart or amazon should work fine and they should run somewhere between $40-50. I'm not gonna lie, I love the looks of brands like Le Creuset but those are way out of my price range. if you take care of your pots a less expensive one will last a good long time too! I hope this helps.

    One way to get people to comment on your videos is to do something you know will go against what we all know to be the right thing to do. I hope a bird pooped on his celery and a farm worker peed on it. 😂

    Way too much butter, but apart from that, this is exactly the recipe I use, minus the dill.

    Can you freeze in glass or plastic

    • @SavorySaver

      I’ve never froze it before but I think it’s worth a try in either glass or plastic. Just allow enough room for it to expand as it freezes.

    • @SavorySaver
      @SavorySaver  2 года назад

      I’ve never tried freezing it before. I’m not sure how it does frozen but I think it’s worth trying. creamy soups can sometimes change texture and taste after being frozen. You can try freezing some in a freezer ziptop bag or half the recipe so you only have enough that you can finish up without having too many leftovers. I’m guilty of making big batches of soup as well so I can relate to that! 😁
