Great interview. My worry a year or so ago was what would happen to Traveller when Mongoose ran out of books to write, but that sounds like such a remote prospect listening to Matt. Thank you very much for asking my question on the Mercenary rule set, the answer was succinct and to the point. Great stuff.
@@itme626 they mentioned it was under development last year but I haven't seen any product yet. It sounds like an interesting concept I am looking forward to seeing it myself.
What is the reason that Traveller isn't the D&D of Sci-Fi? I've never played this but scifi is my genre of choice so I need help determining if I dive in. Is it a heavy system? Can it easily run settings like Star Trek, Star Wars, Firefly, Babylon 5, Farscape? Is it mechanics or Setting, or storytelling focused? I'm grateful for any help, thank you.
@@TheJDough1 it is the D&D of Scifi - it came out the following year and was inspired by d&d and star wars. You can pretty much emulate any sci-fi setting or use the one the publisher provides. You can get a free starter set of rules from my website if you'd like to check it out. Actually check the video description there's links to free stuff. You can play it however you like. It's basically a mechanics framework. I run my own setting based on storytelling primarily but people play however crunchy or not crunchy they like. You can also get in on one shot games or convention games to try it out.

Thanks for the kind words!
Enjoyable, thanks
Thanks! It was my pleasure.
Great interview
Thanks!
I hadn't heard of Pioneer before this interview and I think it's probably the most hyped I've been for a TTRPG product in a while

Geez, how woke. Leave the Droyne alone. It's a sad day to see Mongoose taking the reigns.
LOL woke? Most people who use that word as a pejorative can't define it. You aren't the target audience and that's OK.
