We had a Vietnam Vet in our unit when I was in the National Guard 25 years ago. When he spoke, we all listened.
Had more than one beer with a See Bee that was stationed at Khe Sahn.

My dad could have been that vet. (RVN: 1965-67, Spec4, Hawaii trained M60 door gunner, II Corps; SSGT E-6 Retention NCO in the Guard)
He started as a team leader in a mechanized infantry unit before he went to PNCOC at Camp Edwards MA.
Was a “shotgun rider” on a Huey with a M60. Our survival rate was maybe a month. Was lucky made it four 💥 Now 79 today.

We lost the war, but we never lost a battle. Every major battle the us won. The only reason why we "lost" was because South vietnam surrendered to North vietnam.

We can argue all day the merits or lack thereof of the Vitenam War, but it's hard to argue that it doesn't have one of the better soundtracks of any war.
Well since most were drafted, they probably didn't want to be there either. The only males who got a pass were the rich and the well connected.

Im too young to remember anything about the Vietnam war (58) but when I've read, or listened, to how viet vets were treated when returning home really angered me.
I wish to express my gratitude to , not just Vietnam veterans, but all veterans for their service.

My dad was in the TET Offensive (Army) Infantry and won 2 Purple Hearts. He's such a wonderful good exception man. I'm lucky to have been raised by him. 💜💜

I am restoring my 1967 Cessna O-2A Skymaster back to flying condition. It was in Vietnam from 67-72. She hasn’t flown since 1979 when the Air Force delivered her to the boneyard. When she’s back up flying should I post it to RUclips with this song or something else? Being sarcastic. It seems most Vietnam clips feature this song. I was hoping to have her completed last year but Covid then child support really slowed the process down drastically.
