If you are a foreigner in Norway, I can't stress how important your point of ''taking initiative'' actually is. As Norwegians might come across mistakenly as ''reserved'' when what they actually are doing is attempting to be humble and respectful of your privacy as they don't want you to feel like they are ''bothering'' you or invading on your personal space or erands. In many cases you can probably find this mentality of ''standing open invitation'' in Norway, hence why ''taking initiative'' is a very good thing. If you want to tag along, join something or do something, be vocal about it. If you ever come across an instance where you feel left our or not included, it is 9 out of 10 times not because people don't want to include you, unless they have a strong reason to do so. It is most often because people assume that you are busy with personal and private erands unless voiced otherwise, because there is this mentality where people don't want to ''put you on the spot''. People want to avoid putting you in a situation where you might end up feeling bad or uncomfortable for having to turn them down. It's this whole mentality about that it might be difficult and people might feel bad if they reject or turn down other people. Norwegians are very humble and highly socially aware.

haha, I know.. The winter here is PSYKO long... and that is a big con if you settle in Norway. Winter from November/ start december - middle of April.. meaning - there are often snow during this time.. so its pretty much actually.
Great video, amazing view, delicious food, beuatiful beach and interesting explanation. I like food Norway is Kransekake, Blotkake, Fattigman, Berlinerkranser, Lefse, Farikal, Gravlax and Kumla. I like tourist place in Norway is Vugeland Park, Geiranger Fjord, Lofoten, Alesund, Tromso, Kjeragbolten, Svalbard, Preikestolen and Trolltunga. I not Norway but I know about Norway.
We have 4 seasons. It’s not just cold, snow and ice here. It also varies greatly depending on where in Norway you live, north VS south, west VS east, and die to climate change, winters are less cold, more rain, little snow, and summers are hotter, dryer and lasts longer. It’s all about being properly dressed and have the right attitude.
Hilarious! A Dane talking about having to learn a new language when moving to Norway? What you basically have to do is to learn a totally new pronunciation - Danish virtually IS Norwegian Bokmål (or vice versa?).
Maybe she still speaks english to Norwegians , danish Girls Should NOT have problems adapting to Norway. I guess she speaks for all others than the danish
hi, I’m a student from the states. I’m a broke orphan and i wonder how hard it would be to stay and get education HERE, or leave and get good education in Norway… I’d love to know your or anyone else’s thoughts
Why are scared lol? I’d be way more scared if visiting the US, which are nuts on all levels, and basically lawless compared to here. Modern 3rd world country in disguise. No universal healthcare, no free education, no working democracy, no equality and human rights. Corrupt, and religious nuts everywhere. I’d rather be scared of being mocked, as we don’t particularly like Americans here🤡🤡🤡

Thank you so much for those precious advice. We could feel that you're a little gloomy. Maybe because the night is earlier and earlier. Hold on. On Dec 21st (less than a month), the day will start to be longer and longer. Then the winter will be more and more beautiful!!! Voilà

Interesting. You're from Denmark and consider yourself a "foreigner" in Norway. If you speak Danish aren't you more than halfway into speaking Norwegian? Norwegian's are actually very kind people but my father, a Norwegian, was heard to say that "Danish isn't a language at all, just an awkward way of expressing yourself." LOL.

If you as a white girl(which can easily blend within the Norwegian culture) find it difficult to integrate in the Norwegian culture NOW imagine a none white person trying to integrate in the Norwegian culture 😂 how difficult would that be WOW lol
It's not about appearance but about the cultural norms one is used to. Something more appropriate would probably be something such as "If she's from denmark, a country very similar to Norway, imagine how difficult it'd be for someone from a different continent 😂"
