Quinisha Harley because there is 5 months of dead skin and hair oils that you can’t get to regardless of how well you wash it. It’s still dirty otherwise take down would be clean. We ignore it because it can’t be seen under our weaves and the perfumes in our shampoos and moisturizers mask the potential for smell, but if we seen someone’s hair dirt we’d think it was just as nasty. You wouldn’t walk around with it showing so why ignore it under a weave. It’s still there whether or not you can see it. Yes we are free to do what we want with our hair but nasty is nasty.
Me too.. Im working on it tho. I find what help. Is setting a goal and keeping my head wrapped. So I don't pick at the new growth. My goal is to wear my style now (mini braids) for 6-8 weeks. I find I keep my goal. When I think of days and weeks, not month. Month is a big word to me. When a month isn't that long.
Lol. I'm here for the laziness. Seriously, I keep my braids in for 2 to 3 months, oiling every day with oils (jbco, who, tea tree and blue magic hair grease). And the growth is serious
I started my hair growth journey with 1 month protective style and I was so impatient, but I had some growth , then I tried 3 months protective styling gosh it was indeed a challenge, I missed my hair so bad but when i finally took it down after 3 months, I was so happy, the result was unbelievable. I’m now on 4 months growth challenge am already use to it now, it’s a bit challenging before you get use to it but it works. My hair is thicker and longer
I keep my braids in and it going on two months.... Can't wait to take my hair down in another couple of months so I can see how my natural hair looks. Girl you did your thang your hair looks amazing 😍 You Go Girl! 🌟🌟🌟
OKAY RUclips: you give me a beautiful black girl, that was is in the military, does natural videos, AND LOVES LIL WAYNE.... youtube your in some voodoo sh*t I LOVE YOU FOR RECOMMENDING THIS TO ME ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Lavender Clorox Bleach thank you. You should click the link in the description and get you some castor oil. That’s what made my hair grow and get thick.
Your hair is beautiful. I think keeping your hair braided for growth is the move. Just wash condition and trim afterwards. Your personality is contagious you are so funny and I love your dance moves. Im a new subscriber and look forward to your videos. Thanks for sharing!!
COME THRU GROWTH AND JIGGING 🙌🏾💁🏾♀️ 💃🏾 I personally love to play with my hair (I convinced myself that it’s vital to my loc maintenance lol). But when I was a loose natural I was braided tf up! Would love to see how your beautician hooks you up after a takedown ✨

You are so right I use to always wear protective styles but once I went natural I forgot about the protective styles I use to wear. I went natural in December 2009 never flat iron have no desire to, I love my natural hair.
Thank you for your service sis. Me, personally I wear wigs but keep my real hair in mini braids underneath. I keep them in for 4-6 wks. Oh, your real hair is very long& pretty too❤❤
@@BudgetWithBey Thanks for your response. I prefer wigs because I can switch up my hair style versus a sew in. When I used to wear sew ins, I was limited to that same hair style for a few wks until I had them removed. That's why I started wearing wigs instead.
I get the same results but slower lol cause I usually keep mines in for 3 weeks then wash and treat and re-braid but my hair has grown tremendously so this works😌
On my second journey going natural😑😑😑😑. I hate washing my hair, and i dont enjoy getting relaxed and sitting under the dryer. Wigs are life. Keeping my fingers crossed i stayed committed the second time around.
Hi guys my hair have grew so much, wish I could show you☺☺☺😋😋. So some changes have been made, I've started doing sew in instead of wigs. On another journey of keeping my canerows, for two months instead of washing once per month😜😜😜😜
That was satisfying to watch you separate the braids to show the growth! Lol but rocked it girl. Do what u gotta do. If u can properly take care of it underneath and while taking them out then go for it in my opinion!
So is where the dirt is when your hair was at your scalp before? Because I when I take out my plaits or cornrows I always think that the line of dirt is too far back n that my hair couldn't have grown that much. Someone reply
That’s usually where your hair started. That does show you the amount of growth because all the dirt in your hair from your braids is where your braids originally started.
I don’t think I could ever leave my braids in that long but being in the military I can understand y’all don’t really have a lot of time it’s a lot of get up and go that’s why I’m unsure of what to do with my hair when I go in
Too MuchMiracle for basic training, braids is your best bet. Females that didn’t know how to do their hair or couldn’t get it to to the standard had to get perms. I went in with braids and on family day, which is the day before graduation, I went to the hair shop with my battle buddy and got my hair done.
I am from the old school of braids. I am 65 years old. I came up during the time that "Say It Loud I'm Black and I'm Proud" was our theme song. I braided my hair in what is called micro braids back in the early 70's and was called Buckwheat. Then an Actress named Bo Derek braided her long blonde hair into micro braids, advertised it, and the weave industry became a fortune 500 industry, funded by Black Women. I did not care about the name calling because no sooner then I was called a name the next question was how did you do your hair like that. lol Today in this 21st Century the verdict is in on 99% of the tied on weaves done to Black Women's hair. It has eaten their hair out to the CROWN of their heads. I have to admit that just recently I realized that the weave is TIED onto strains of hair that is so thin until it breaks off. We are the ONLY race of Women that wear someone else's hair as our own. We have the best hair of any race. We can wear an afro, cornrows, press and curl, or a perm and never damage our hair. No other race of hair can be designed like a Black Women's hair. WHY tell me WHY are we wearing weave at all? Lastly, I rolled back the hands of time and braided my natural hair in micro braids and can't get out of Walmart without Women with weaves asking me how did I do this. Two generations of Black women missed what our hair is all about and it's not about wearing anything other than our own hair. I wash and condition my hair every two weeks and tighten loose braids as they grow. My hair has grown down my neck heading for my shoulders after 10 months. Stop this and do your own hair. Black Men are sick of it too. I hear what my sons and grandsons are saying about choosing a women and they don't want NO weave.
When you take down your hair from braids from a long length of time the last thing you want to do is agitate by shaking it around and run your fingers through it or pull it into a pulled hold. Nor should you sing about folk not having hair. Best to pre-poo with grapeseed oil, and then olive oil for two days. Add detaingler and finger detaingle. Put highly slip conditioner and finger detaingle. Clarify only your scalp while the conditioner is still on your hair. Rinse and deep condition, finger part, twist or fat plat and rinse. Spray your leave in, moisturize, pudding or butter seal
Yes if you wet your hair after such a lengthy braid up - your hair will revert back into being braided and will tangle into instant locs and you will lose all the growth you gained!
I washed it once a month. I went to the shop and had a deep wash as well as had my closure taken out and tightened back up. I moisturized it once a week. I have a video where I kept my hair I for 6 months during deployment and it grew ridiculously long. Let me know if you have any questions hunny. And the products I used are in the description. 💕
Savonne Johnson I leave my hair in the king because I can keep it up that long. Some people get braids and it can only last them 2 weeks but I’m very good at maintaining a hairstyle for a long period of time.
So are you natural natural or are you just using this as a protective style because you are in the military? I'm not natural I had a hard time trying to be natural 2xs it just wasn't for me. But I do wear a lot of sew ins and I been wearing this wig I got made for almost 3 months now. I been trying to grow my hair back to the length it was back when I was in high school because I have been cutting it a lot since then. Its grown a lot with me getting my sew ins and perms. Ik people hair grow with being natural as well. But if you have that much results from 5 months ik my hair could be long. My hair comes about to the top middle of my back once I get a perm and it's very straight. I use the sew ins as another way to give my hair a break from the chemical. Okay ima stop typing because I've shared almost my life story. Loved your video the results were great. I would cry if you cut it lol I love long hair
LMFAOOOO you are hilarious and I love it !!! Yes I’m natural natural but because of the military, I do keep it braided up and I let my hair breathe for a month once I take out my braids or sew in. Honestly, perms, slowly but surely kill your hair. They aren’t good for you at all. Once you wear braids for a good 5 months, you will be able to cut off the permed part and have your natural hair flourishing. I also drink 1 gallon of water a day. A lot of people wouldn’t be able to keep their hair in that long but that’s only because they don’t know how to keep it up. It’s winter time and that’s the best time to get braided up. I also take vitamins and use oils. I put them in the description box. It’s okay, you’re not oversharing, you e watched my video so now basically we are cousins lol. HEY COUSIN ! 💕
Lol ayyyy hey cousin I 😂😂 . That's what I normally do for winter as well. This the longest I ever had a sew in but I wanted my hair to grow. I normally would take my hair down fast because I like to see the growth but this time I wanted to try and keep it and style it. If you would watch some of my hair videos its mainly a trail because I bought it from wish and I wanted women to see the results of wish hair even if it was cheaper. It's so wonderful. I plan on buying more in the future. I made about 3 videos on it. I can't really afford all that 200 dollar hair but this is just as good. It's worth whatever you pay.
Girlllllll !!! Wish and amazon got some good hair. Truth be told. Hair grows much more when it’s dirty. I still do wash my braids but that’s only once a month because the oils and grass I use will clog up my scalp
I did the big chop last year 2017 so how long have I been nautral my hair is like to my neck when I silk pressed it what can make my hair grow more used to use a lot of heat hair when I started then stopped but how long have I been natural I'm 12 so I really don't know
I use NO heat on my hair. I also get my ends trimmed, drink lots of water, oil and massage my scalp with castor oil. I like to use protective styles a lot.
The Life Of Bey please do a video on the types of moisturizer, and shampoo...girl you did that....I braid hair both natural and relaxed and it’s hard to keep moisture..you did that. I’m proud of you sis🌹🌹🌹🌹
Just make sure you oil your scalp. And if it’s in braids, just keep your head inverted(upside down) for about 4 minutes so the blood can flow to your scalp
I don't see why people think it's nasty, I enjoy looking at people take down braids. Idk why but I do.
Quinisha Harley I love watching take down videos
Lol this is my 6th video ... I've been binging on "old braid take down"
Me too oddly but satisfying 😂😂😂
Quinisha Harley because there is 5 months of dead skin and hair oils that you can’t get to regardless of how well you wash it. It’s still dirty otherwise take down would be clean. We ignore it because it can’t be seen under our weaves and the perfumes in our shampoos and moisturizers mask the potential for smell, but if we seen someone’s hair dirt we’d think it was just as nasty. You wouldn’t walk around with it showing so why ignore it under a weave. It’s still there whether or not you can see it. Yes we are free to do what we want with our hair but nasty is nasty.
It does look nasty because of the buildup of the hair product. At the end of it all I love to see the length.
I really truly wana have my braids on for more than a month but i get impatient i wana see my hair. Can y'all pray for me lol
Same here
Me too.. Im working on it tho.

Wait that’s how much my hair grows after one month of box braids😳 I wonder how much growth I will have if I try this
Just make sure you oil your scalp. And if it’s in braids, just keep your head inverted(upside down) for about 4 minutes so the blood can flow to your scalp
