I am sure your bf knows all the best secret spots in Ljubljana, but I would still recommend you do not miss Ljubljana Castle, House of Illusions (unique museum), and Štrukljarnica at Plečnik's arcades (it's a dumpling house, where they prepare over 20 kinds of traditional and modern Slovenian dumplings from different doughs, with creamy or classical fillings and toppings).
