So maybe I missed it but I'm confused how you remote release this from the ground after rappelling?

You didn't miss it! I tie a JRB Hitch right before rappel! I'm going to make a video asap showing what I do/use!

@@wild_sam9845 so do you transfer back to your second tether in order to tie that?

@@TruthSee-Ker Yes. I leave my second tether on the tree and stay attached to it down low, and actually use it as my bow and stuff hanger .....and sometimes will actually 2TC back down, especially if I haven't passed any limbs, as it's less of a clean up/pack up job than rappelling and is equal in time when you consider putting the rope away nicely.

With respect, I think you and JRB are both creating solutions in search of a problem, and I think both of you miss the concept of simplicity yielding safety.

Ah, no offense taken! May I ask what problem do you think we are trying to solve? To explain, I make these videos for folks on the saddlehunter.com website to explain myself. My idea, not a problem, was to have a releasable metal free tether attachment so as to limit the possibility of metal clanking in my 2TC system. I have succeeded, and this entire season every climb has been done on these SNEAK hitches.
Humans always want things to be better lighter faster! Me too! Thanks for the interest!

@@wild_sam9845, I appreciate your enthusiasm, and I'm glad you've found a system that works for you. Personally, I think the complexity of the solution introduces too much chance of user error for me to be comfortable with it, for a very minimal benefit. A simple figure eight loop on the end of the rope allows me to run the end of the rope around the tree, through the loop, and tighten the loop on the tree. The 30' of rope I carry takes 10 seconds or so to run through the loop, an additional 10 sec at the end of my hunt to pull back up, a time cost that is well worth the increased safety of a simple, effective knot that has been tested for ages.
