Thank you for showing that it is possible to replace the charging port without removing the battery or the glued on wires on it, I sadly followed a guide that showed that the removal of the battery was necessary and thus have ruined my phone by damaging the display due to both pull tabs ripping off and me thinking that isopropanol wouldn't harm any components

good video but i don't have the tools for this. i think a piece of plastic has shifted in the port on my phone. the pins on the chargers connector and the phones port look fine. but i can't get the connector all the way in. something is blocking it. something blue.which seems to be part of the port.
My puppy chewed my USB cable, so when I plugged it in, it immediately shut off my phone. I had to plug in a good USB cable to get the phone to come back on.
Now, my phone only charges with a current between 80 and 130 mA when connected to USB 3.0 on a computer and my USB-C to USB-C cable won't charge or transmit data to my phone (cable still works fine with friend's phone). Is the charge port on my phone the most likely part that was damaged by the chewed USB cable? I can still get almost 2000 mA current with my Quick Charge adapter, but any other charger barely charges faster than the battery discharge rate.

You have to disassemble the phone and check the connector to the main Board if it's fitting well.
Be extra careful when disconnecting the charging port flex cable on this phone. Mine pulled the FPC connector straight off the motherboard.

It depends on how you mean by water proof. To my experience, I have repaired many so called water proof Phones with water damage.
