This is a quick look at a really cool Gibson ES-335 style semi-hollow guitar made by Aria Guitars.
I'm not entirely sure whether it's an Aria TA-50 or a TA-Classic because it doesn't say on the headstock, and the newer models look slightly different - But it closely resembles either.
The pickups are Duncan Designs, & this guitar has had no alterations over the years. It could do with a bit of a set up, but overall a really great lower cost Gibson 335 style guitar.
    Hope you enjoy the video!

I saw one of the sunburst ones yesterday at the Music go-round locally, spent ten minutes playing it and listening to the salesperson playing...I was sold even though i had no idea what its reputation was. It immediately jumped to the top of my guitar rotation for now, such a seemingly well made and good sounding guitar. Very nice neck and smooth frets, perfect size, finish, everything. Very, very good for the low-ish price.

I have owned two of these, a TA-40 & aTA-60, both we’re made in Korea and are older than this. This is a TA Classic, made in China. They are all very nice semi-hollow bodied guitars. I like them because they are smaller than a 335, sort or between a 335 size and a 339 size. The older ones have the more pointed head stock, this is the more recent headstock of the Chinese versions. Very nice guitars for the money.

I bought a chinese Aria TA Classic SB, my luthier made a professional setup on her, now its a keeper! It has absolutely gorgeous look, feel, and tone! And its cheap.... You dont have to spend tons of money on buying a good semi hollow, here the final solution ;). Mine also stays in tune.

I'm pretty sure your identification is spot on. I own a TA50 and it looks exactly the same. I bought mine new in about 2009 and at the time they retailed for just under £200 (I think mine cost £189).

Duncan Designed pickups are made in South Korea, but Seymour Duncans are made in the u.s. of a. Both are designed by Seymour Duncan. Specs are very similar between several of the DD and SD pickups. Duncan Designed pickups are made at a lower price point for mid-priced guitars. I dropped a set into a low end Epiphone Les Paul.

I have a similar TA-70 to the photo you found. The quick photo from online you show is the same head-stoock from the 1970's vintage Aria Pro II models. Mine is a 1972 as best I can determine. The original 1970s and '80s ones were made in the Matsumoku factory in japan. There are some good videos on you tube about that era. They have an AWESOME reputation and based on my guitar, deserve it. Pro grade in every aspect. The equal of my MIJ 2020 Gretsch 6128T Players Ed., 2000 Fender American Deluxe Strat or 2004 Gibson SG as reference points.
Later versions made in Korea (reportedly pretty good like the Japanese ones) and recently the name hijacked to China with the usual cheaper quality build.
The Matsumoku made vintage ones are worth buying if in good condition. If I found another nice TA 70 or TA 100 I may buy it.
The rest I am not able to say from personal experience. I won't buy CCP slaver guitars.

It's an Aria classic. The TA50 and TA100 have the another headstock and was made in the Matsumoku factory at Japan. The old Arias are more spensive. And have some sisters of TRADE Mark like Westone Rainbow, so more spensive. Around 500 pounds.

Great video, Rob, my brother’s name is the same as your brother’s. Noticed that you’ve been getting a lot of views & subs since you’ve been doing the reviews & going over things! That’s cool! Saw a black Aria TA-50 on the US eBay & it had the same shape of the head like your brother’s guitar.
    Guitar sounds great!

The guy played nicely but wasn't to good on information, easily found on Google and like you said, label in the sound hole 😂😂😂. Great value super guitar, certainly better than Epiphones but then most guitar's are. 😂.

Intonation isn’t about tuning stability. It’s about whether it can be kept in tune at the nut and all the way up and down the fretboard at the same time. Which is adjusted by correctly placing the saddles and also depends on lowish string height and the neck relief not being too high.

I have the TA60. I had sold it and regretted it. By chance, found the exact same one on FB marketplace and bought it back. It’s old but sounds great. Don’t needs to change anything on it, but I’m looking to change the tailpiece and the nut. There are Gotoh tuners on them already. Any advice where I can get parts?

Thanks for the review. I have one of these. It was my first guitar bought about six years ago in the Netherlands. Mine is made in Japan. The TA models are the original Japan Matsumoku factory hand made Arias so a different League altogether. I don't have the DD on my pickups. They are very hot pups though. The Duncan Design was put on the Chinese models alright and I noticed that on other later Aria guitars in the shop when I bought mine. When I was looking for info I found this video from Champagne Charlie Esner which is a great video, very good and here he plays my exact model 😁: ruclips.net/video/c0deRJ_LfME/видео.html
