  • In this exclusive interview, conducted during InfoComm 2024, Lightware Americas' president and CEO, Clint Hoffman, reflects on a massively successful show for the company. Hoffman tells Dan Ferrisi, group editor, commercial and security, Emerald, that Lightware's big story for InfoComm 2024 centered on the expanding Taurus family. According to Hoffman, "So, what we like to say is, there are so many different applications out there for Taurus, and we've expanded the family. So, we now can say, 'We have a Taurus for that.' No matter what your challenge is, no matter what your application is, we have a version of Taurus designed for that."
Deeper in the conversation, Hoffman shares detail about the entire Taurus range, including a new unit that has bidirectional Dante capability built in. Another unit has extended desktop capabilities. Plus, Hoffman talks about the benefits of Lightware taking the basic standalone Taurus and splitting it into a transmitter and receiver. As he explains, "Once we did that, we can put the receiver behind the screen, connect a bunch of peripherals, connect it to the screen. Then, a single category cable -- we're using SDVoE technology -- will carry those signals back to the desk, where the transmitters are. Also have some more peripherals plugged in there, as well. And the signal goes back and forth over that single SDVoE cable." That ultimately solves the challenge of the larger space.
