He’s older and nagging injuries could quite likely hamper the remainder of his career-but the “dude always hurt” is objectively incorrect.

Yeah....I can surely see why, the Steelers FO is hesitant about paying Cam Heyward $24 million per year for maybe another 2 years after sustaining a groin injury. Hopefully, Cam will be healthy for all 17 games in 2024, so the Steelers FO will be able to offer Cam a 2 year extension at $24 per year.

Don’t forget that they will likely have to pay Russ, and if he balls out, that’s a $165-220M hit over the next three seasons. They can structure it do they don’t get burned if Russ falls off, but they will have to pay him.
Why don't the Steelers trade Heyward for say a WR , say a certain one from SF. would free up the money to sign him, and also move Heyward out of the conference. Well Heyward said would play for Cleveland 2025 season if no contract well here's your chance.
He can't leave this year because he's still under a contract now next season who knows what will happen he may retire if he's not playing up to par so why worry about it now just wait until it happens.

Either way I look at it, I’m conflicted and angry. This could be out of context and I still would be. The fan side of me is mad this is a possibility, but the human side of me gets it. It just seems so wrong though that as someone that many believed is a leader of this team that he’d be the one to go to the Browns of all teams. Heck even Baltimore or Cincinnati would be less painful than the Browns somehow. Now I know why I never get the newest jerseys of anybody on a team because history can change in an instant.
