Enjoy this video? Fantastic! Do me a favour and follow me on Instagram - @dpmakestuff. I do giveaways and you get to see what I'm working on every day. Thank you!
There are two type of people on the RUclips woodworking catagory. #1,The instructors like Paul Sellers, Matt Cremona, etc. Then #2, the showboaters like this guy and many others. I thumb up the instructors.
The router jig makes me wonder why I didn't think of that? That's just brilliant. The use of UHMW or HDPE as the extended router base is a great idea. I'm going to set up a router just for that purpose now.
Hello. I am a retired welder of 35 years, I got bored so I got in to wood working. You my friend are a great woodworkers. Guys like you give much inspiration to people like me. Thank you for sharing your talents.
If they are going to be with me a long time, I spare no expense! Thank you and I haven't forgot about your email. To say it's been a hectic week would be an understatement.
AWESOME moxon vice love the wood choices. And just wanted to add that your videos are so great. Thank you for sharing. Also the glue spreading was funny and yes I've always wanted to do that
Very very nice! Dustin I really enjoy watching your vids. You always inspire me to do more... to try and do higher quality work when doing woodworking. Even if I don't do exactly the same projects in your videos...for me that's the highest compliment I can give you. THANK YOU!
Clamping hell!! another great build buddy! Constantly checking youtube for your new videos before i can even receive a notification that you've uploaded. Keep them coming!!!
Retired Video shooter and editor, have to tell you this was without question one of the best video how to's I've ever seen first rate job and oh yeah, I liked your project too !! LOL
Love that idea for a router guide. That seems like a good way to take a (cheap) trim router and get nice dados without a huge, adjustable plate that you have to lay over the piece - just a simple, two-piece right angle. Subscribed!
Great job! I wish my Grandfather was alive to see the work you and others do. He was a master cabinet maker that emigrated here from England. He would be proud of you.
awesome build man, my shop took a big hit during the winter, nothing serious it just became storage for everything else, but I will be doing your build as soon as I can find my shop haha! thanks Doug.
Awesome video, loved the editing but i'm so confused how did you manage to spread the glue with your hands yet leave no marks on the wood then you flipped it? Magic?
That's a well mXe Vise pal... It's beautifully made.. I couldn't get what uweredoingT1st but I love the idea of being able to tKe it away off the Ben h when needed.... I'm about to uildoutmyvery small 1 car garage. 16X12 is my guestimation on the size atm. Once I clear the rubbish It'll be the time for me to begin setting up shop.. There's a tonne of prep to go before any of my new tools go in but I cannot wait and this is a Vise I will defo be making for my 5 foot Bench.. Great video
Like button smashed! This video just came in my feed, I watch a lot of Matthias Wandel, Samurai carpenter, Wranglerstar and I'm a professional cabinet maker/boat builder this video kept me entertained the whole way through, no fast forwarding it at all. I'm totally subscribed to your channel now!
I just ordered your plans for this vice as I have to make a ton of hand cut dovetail drawers for my daughters dresser. Side note: never made a dovetail until the last three weeks. 🥴I sure do hope you are well and still able to get out in your shop.
As I saw you chisel the hole for the nut I knew that's a pro. You know in order to have a great end result one has to have sharp tools and a steady hand. You got both and the result speaks for itself. Thanks for sharing...now you got me curious on your other videos...
2 helpful tips, use Nitrile gloves when spreading glue, add ring magnets on to the back of the hand wheels to pull the vise out when releasing the tension. Otherwise GREAT LOOKING VISE 👍👍👍👍
I liked this because I learned a thing or two. Wish I could actually finish a project like this. Keep up the sandwiches like this and dig that leather!
I have to agree with everyone else. Fantastic video. Fantastic skills. Fantastic attention to detail. Quick question though. What brand coping do you use? Keep up the great work.
Really appreciate your work and your skill! Somehow missed this video when it came out. Usually follow you closely. Still like the vise? Anything you would do differently after using it this long?
Hey Dustin Loved the step-by-step guide, exactly what i was looking for. One question though. whats the size of the thread your using and where did you get those hand wheels?
When you drilled the outer face using the holes from the inner face as a guide, it appears that you referenced off of the bottom. Wouldn't that leave your quarter inch overhang on the top?
Enjoy this video? Fantastic! Do me a favour and follow me on Instagram - @dpmakestuff. I do giveaways and you get to see what I'm working on every day. Thank you!
Visite my channel, Know my work.😉 👍🏼
Your vice is more beautiful than any of the furniture in my home! I'm a beginning woodworker--thanks for the inspiration!
There are two type of people on the RUclips woodworking catagory. #1,The instructors like Paul Sellers, Matt Cremona, etc. Then #2, the showboaters like this guy and many others. I thumb up the instructors.
Maybe he's a showboater, but the build was pretty and gave me 2 ideas for the Moxon vise I want to build. I gave him a thumb up.
The router jig makes me wonder why I didn't think of that? That's just brilliant. The use of UHMW or HDPE as the extended router base is a great idea. I'm going to set up a router just for that purpose now.
We're just having fun folks! Great build and great timing it's next on my shop list!!
Thanks brother!
Choice of wood color and design shows your passion. Great video!
👍👍👍! Слишком красиво для тисков, даже жирно! Такое дерево, так заморочился, даже жалко их использовать! Супер!!!
Hello. I am a retired welder of 35 years, I got bored so I got in to wood working. You my friend are a great woodworkers. Guys like you give much inspiration to people like me. Thank you for sharing your talents.
I've seen a million of these on RUclips, but none as artful as this. It's beautiful.
Love that little router guide trick. Haven't seen that before. So simple! Thanks
The simple ones are always the best! Thanks!
Spreading the glue with two whole hands, what a maniac!
Best Moxon vice I’ve seen!! Simple router jig is genius
The best moxon vise video on RUclips. Thanks for sharing.
I love that you use such beautiful hardwood for a shop project. Bravo!
If they are going to be with me a long time, I spare no expense! Thank you and I haven't forgot about your email. To say it's been a hectic week would be an understatement.

I'm all about simplicity haha!

Evangelos Himonides
Excellent moxon vise. Very good video production as well. I especially liked how you applied stencils directly to the work surface -- very clever.
love this!!! just the kind of Vise i need for my lil work space. thank you for sharing!
It's a great tool to have!
Love the vise. Mind blown with the router jig.
Beautiful vice. Great idea with the leather surface.

Thank you! So far I've heard oreo cookie and ice cream sandwich haha!
AWESOME moxon vice love the wood choices. And just wanted to add that your videos are so great. Thank you for sharing. Also the glue spreading was funny and yes I've always wanted to do that
Thank you for the kind comment AND for reading the video description. You are a rare breed!
That router jig... Simple genius!
Thats the best kind! Thanks!
This is fine craftsmenship. I like the final scene where tha clamps are pointing upwards(!) instead of downwards away from the work area.
Excellent video and process
I like the base on your mini router
Thank you for sharing
Love that dead simple router dado jig. Great video as usual!
Thanks very much Andrew!
Just saw it with awe - why didn't I think of that before?
Also, the demo at the end was an excellent display of your vise and skill. Your an inspiration....
Very very nice! Dustin I really enjoy watching your vids. You always inspire me to do more... to try and do higher quality work when doing woodworking. Even if I don't do exactly the same projects in your videos...for me that's the highest compliment I can give you. THANK YOU!
Very nice work. I like also that lit jig and technique you used for your router. Well done
Excellent project and excellent video. That vise will serve you well for many years.

I DO like the "tape-stop" trick as well.Awesome!
Great fun watching - I also like the little router jig.
Thanks!
WoW!!! You are quite a craftsman! Beautiful! I want one of these but not as elaborate. I love the hardware too!
Retired Video shooter and editor, have to tell you this was without question one of the best video how to's I've ever seen first rate job and oh yeah, I liked your project too !! LOL
I really appreciate that! Thanks very much!
Love that idea for a router guide. That seems like a good way to take a (cheap) trim router and get nice dados without a huge, adjustable plate that you have to lay over the piece - just a simple, two-piece right angle. Subscribed!
Thanks! Sometimes the simple solution is the best!
Its always so funny to see more clamps on a project than the actual project itself
Great job! I wish my Grandfather was alive to see the work you and others do.
He was a master cabinet maker that emigrated here from England. He would be proud of you.
I appreciate that! Thanks!
You can never have too many clamps! The leather is a nice addition! I use it on my hold fasts.
It was included with the hardware and its very nice to have! No slipping.
Awesome videos n tradesmenship. Also find myself tapping my feet to the tunes even on a grumpy day. ;)
Did you let the glue dry on your hands and peel it off?!
Just glanced at the thumbnail and thought I was looking at one of the prettiest Pinewood Derby cars I'd ever seen.
When you hit this with the oil...WOW!! Probably gonna try this at some point!
That was ten times more impressive than I thought it was going to be. don't usually like videos without talking but this was very cool to watch.
Glad to hear! It's fun telling the story without words and it opens the doors to everyone in the world, not just english speaking people. Thanks!
Great build!!! I will be picking up the plans next week been wanting/needing a vice.
awesome build man, my shop took a big hit during the winter, nothing serious it just became storage for everything else, but I will be doing your build as soon as I can find my shop haha! thanks Doug.
That's great to hear! Thanks!
Awesome video, loved the editing but i'm so confused how did you manage to spread the glue with your hands yet leave no marks on the wood then you flipped it? Magic?
That's my favorite part haha! Lots of practice ;)
It came out awesome! And the jig for routing very clever!
Couldn't take my eyes off the video. Great job.
Appreciate it! Thanks!
That's a well mXe Vise pal... It's beautifully made.. I couldn't get what uweredoingT1st but I love the idea of being able to tKe it away off the Ben h when needed....

that dado technique is going to come in handy for a clock I am making! Thanks!
Glad to help! Happy building!

Steady laughter after the clamps, great work on this video.
Just beautiful, fantastic work. Well done!
Gorgeous! I'd like to have furniture that looks that good.
haha! Thanks!
I just ordered your plans for this vice as I have to make a ton of hand cut dovetail drawers for my daughters dresser. Side note: never made a dovetail until the last three weeks. 🥴I sure do hope you are well and still able to get out in your shop.
Nice woodworking and video style. I didn't have to skip over any boring intro or tools needed list.
Most fun video to watch I've seen in a while, and I watch a lot of cool videos. That table saw's built more like a car than a tool!
Thanks very much! That SawStop Table saw is a beautiful piece of machinery.
Very simple and beautiful.
Great job, Dustin! That thing is heirloom quality for sure. And the little nod to David/MakeSomething cracked me up.
Great clip...a work of art!
2:49 POP GOES THE FORSTNER. LMAO! Great video with sound effects. AWESOME!
Thanks!
Didn't know I was already subscribed to your channel, absolutely love and need this vise now.
As I saw you chisel the hole for the nut I knew that's a pro. You know in order to have a great end result one has to have sharp tools and a steady hand.
You got both and the result speaks for itself. Thanks for sharing...now you got me curious on your other videos...

Very nice Dustin, keep the videos coming.
I'll do my best! Thanks!
Beautiful and for some reason it made me hungry.
Ice cream sandwich or oreos? Thanks!
I liked this because I learned a thing or two. Wish I could actually finish a project like this. Keep up the sandwiches like this and dig that leather!
haha! Thanks very much!
Awesome vice, nice video and the dado tip is nuts!
one of the best glue applicators I've seen
It's just what I had on hand... ba dum tsss
:-) :-) :-)
where is the secret compartment?
One thing I've learned from watching this video is that I need more clamps...
haha Thanks!
Don't bother yourself cause you'll NEVER have enough ;)
I love that two toned look
Thanks!
Hi Dustin, was that just wood glue you used to stick on the leather?? And if it was how's it holding up this far down the line? Thanks
Fantastic build.
Thanks very much!
You applied leather to only one side. How's that working out. Thoughts on leather on both?
Awesome, very good finish 😁👍🏼
Some really cool techniques you see there. Nice!
Great job, can you tell me who is the musical artist at the end of the video?
I have to agree with everyone else. Fantastic video. Fantastic skills. Fantastic attention to detail. Quick question though. What brand coping do you use? Keep up the great work.
Great video...love the look of the final project. Ya might nèed dust collection on that drill...lol
No dejas de asombrarme de tu perfección y buen trabajo.Me encanta ver tus videos.
Saludos Dustin
Really appreciate your work and your skill! Somehow missed this video when it came out. Usually follow you closely. Still like the vise? Anything you would do differently after using it this long?
Hey Dustin Loved the step-by-step guide, exactly what i was looking for. One question though. whats the size of the thread your using and where did you get those hand wheels?
slliMJChaos thanks! I have more details in the description if you'd like. The hardware came from Benchcrafted
Thanks i was trying to find the kit everywhere.
No problem!
Veramente un lavoro ben fatto. Bravo...
When you drilled the outer face using the holes from the inner face as a guide, it appears that you referenced off of the bottom. Wouldn't that leave your quarter inch overhang on the top?
I don't quite understand your question but no, the over hang is on the bottom. You can clearly see that in the video.
