It’s actually so nice to have an international sister in law already in the family, that makes things so much easier in my opinion. The family is already accepting her, which is not all too usual.😊
I mean it is for woman... not for man... I don´t like specially this religion for it... Muslim men are allowed, and even encouraged, to marry Christian, or foreign women...Muslim woman is formally forbidden to marry a non-Muslim man regardless of his religion... The reason for it, is that children will be automatically moslim, woman even christian should follow her husband and so on... this is the reason why we don´t see muslim woman in this show... only muslim men

The cultural differences aren't the issue here. A lot of people out there are able to adjust for work, for love etc. It's Nicole's complete refusal to be accepting of anything but her "American" way of life that's the issue. They're respectfully giving her a chance to be part of their family but she can't even see that because she is too bothered about going out and doing what she is used to. Don't move to another country if you don't wanna adjust. It's that simple. That condescending sneer and worried look she has on her face about everything is not cute and will just make everyone's life harder in the end.
As an Egyptian woman, "Egyptian women don't go out much" is not a thing at all. At least not in Cairo. Maybe in certain places in Egypt, but generally speaking women do go out quite a bit actually. They have friends. Sounds like her husband isn't letting her go out cuz this don't add up at all. Even my cousins in the countryside, which tends to be more conservative that the urban areas, go out and hang out with friends. Wish this show showed a better view of our culture bec it's definitely better than this.
Yeah for sure. I used to go out a lot when u lived in Egypt. I think they mean in very very traditional, conservative households? Like very very traditional. Most Egyptian women are super social

Culture isn’t an excuse to be abusive and dehumanize people. A lot of the comments in here are using common manipulation tactics to paint something ugly and dangerous as beautiful and safe. It’s very concerning. Luckily I’m not responsible for any of you and your lack of education in what is abusive. I’m only responding so lurkers can see your viewpoints will bring conflict from others and they naturally should. Because you’re potentially putting people in positions to accept abuse as normal with these types of sentiments and the lurkers need to see you called out for it and to make sure you don’t mislead kids watching into thinking this type of relationship is acceptable. And might I add, it’s important in terms of discussion to mention possible reasons why certain countries find Mahmoud’s “culture” unacceptable and do things differently. And no, you don’t get to dismiss that with negative reasons which would also be manipulative. It’s because using culture as an excuse to treat women like toys and possessions is gross and wildly unloving and dangerous.
Egypt isn’t like that! You can walk around in a Tshirt,go out with friends have fun! I’ve been to Egypt many times,it’s a beautiful country! Especially in Cairo and Alexandra!
What I dont understand about these people is how they dont do research before they decide to marry and move to another country, and then become surprised that things are done differently over there.
I don’t want to be mean but if the Asian lady is from a village she doesn’t have an issue living like this. Village people are very poor && they also just don’t care about going out but having kids & cooking Women from the US are used to just having a social life & going out to with friends which is important to us

I feel Nicole what she been through. First family meetings was good great and second guessing is 'how am I gonna adapt in the culture^ if I dont explore outside myself instead follow dressing code is sux to me
Girl, you’re not in the USA and that’s their custom and tradition. This family is actually very nice and Nicole makes this so painful to watch cause it looks like that is not the place for her.
Guys watch the clip again and tell me what you think about Mahmoud's body language. This guy clearly looks agitated. Is he nervous thinking about all future plan and how to manipulate the whole scenario? I have controlling vibes from him...this girl is going to be ripped off her soul if she doesn't leave soon
She should run and never return. It's not for everyone. I'm currently married to a Moroccan man for over 16 years, and been the happiest.. She looks extremely unhappy.
Egypt isn’t like that! You can walk around in a Tshirt,go out with friends have fun! I’ve been to Egypt many times,it’s a beautiful country! Especially in Cairo and Alexandra! But also other parts,it’s all about respect,it depends on the family! My best who’s from Egypt who I visit every summer, her parents are very religious, but as they follow in the Quran, wearing the Hijab is up to the girl, and she wears a tshirt, goes to the beach, but around town where she’s from, she wears jeans with a tshirt, but she also wears tank tops, she wears bikinis at the beaches in resorts, her father respects that, her fiancé does, but he’s very very liberal.. but I just wanted to make this clear, woman have a say and are free to be with friends at the mall getting dinner and etc..
This is pathetic!! The way they’re portraying Muslims and Egyptians is insane. Their normal people, they go out, do shopping, they work, they have friends, they dress up and have their own opinion too and it’s heard and valued. Plus not all wear the hijab!! It’s showing they don’t do nothing but cook, clean and look after their family. Nicole must think only American people are normal 😂. She needs to seriously value other cultures and religions. This relationship will not work if she’s not willing to understand the differences and willing to sacrifice 🤐.
I feel awful for Nicole. She is like a little deer in the headlights... His culture IS SO different from hers in America. I don't think she did enough research into that culture as she needed too. She's an independent, vibrant social woman moving into a very secluded life style.. Every time I see her in an episode I want to cry and scream..Runnnn!!!! 😢 😱
Oh, poor Nicole! She is never going to be able to go out alone. Maybe she can go out with the sister in law or another lady family member but that's about all. No friends for you!!! Sorry
Run Nicol!for you sanity, safity and personal development. Egiption laws consider more women as a property, do not be too tolerant, it is what it is, for woman it is like a prison and slavery, it is abusive, for this beautiful girl is better to remain herself and not merge with religious man.this guy wants to change her and her lifestyle but not his at all even a small bit. i do not think it is love((( and it is good that there is a camera crew becouse the family will be treat her better becouse of cameras. in eastern europe the are a lot of horror stories about marriages slavic women with egiption men and documentaries. it is dangerous! i like the sister in law )) she is cute and nice. but what is too much friends? isolating a victim...only strict controlling family around and the end(((nobody dererve such a restrictions
I think looking at their situation in a western perspective is not helpful. Most Asian and Middle Eastern countries are family - centric. Your family are your friends. My closest friend is my cousin and my siblings group of friends are our cousins. We have school or work friends but they don't hold as much traction as family does. It does not necessarily mean abuse. Having that said, these two have very different lifestyles and it will take a lot to bridge thr gap
She acts like she doesn’t know she’s in a different country, culture & faith. Yet everyone pities her, which I can’t understand when Nicole is the one who made this decision etc. I feel bad for Mahmoud & his family. Poor guy had no clue uncultured people are very rude self victimising individuals.
So funny how every 90 day husband from an arab Country has the most conservative values and family even for standards of the Country - except Ziad maybe
Tunisia to me felt like Dubai. I hardly saw many women in hijab or jalabaya/abaya. The women really are trying to adopt the Western way of dressing and putting on makeup with our hairstyles and more. (I’ve been there and to Egypt a few times.)
OMG, how can she be so naive and not inform herself: women in that country don't go out and make friends! Not when you get married to someone who takes his religion so serious
All of Nicoles problems are about her own mindset. Her own mind is limiting her. Why did the chinese lady fit in so easily and happily? Why are you making a huge fuss about something as simple as clothes? You can do whatever permissible fun you want, just dress modestly. Go swim, go shopping, go walking, etc covering your body is not a big deal
@@marknewton6984 I don't think so, she's the one who putted herself in that situation knowing that it's not the kind of life that she aspires. She's so naive, I don't know how she could survive in LA...
I’ve noticed the American women who date and then end up becoming fiancés to these men always end up with poor people lol ! I guess the high value men in those countries stick to their own. I can promise you a wealthy Egyptian man would let his wife(fiancé) wear whatever she wants in their home because their home is in a gated community, would have a maid and a driver. Arab women love shopping and going out to eat at coffee shops and restaurants, but poorer ones have to stay at home and cook and clean.
I’m talking to a upper class guy who lives in Egypt and his married sisters dress normal + go out. Same for his friends wives. So I agree, it’s a backwards mentality
Different societies are different, there the families are big and close so they don't even have the need to have friends....its actually a good thing in a way
@Lilman Yellow loool so being close to your family means incest how stupid is your comment..... obviously these people go to school, work, shopping they have 'friends' but the people they are most close to are their family...
Nicole had a scary face in her own country nevermind moving there, obviously she knew returning back that Steven Spielberg was not going to be there doing a movie on her she is a diamond dozen but she is lacking a few brain waves if she thought he was going to change
The conservative families are very controlling in Egypt. I (American) met Egyptian man 22 yrs ago and he never once made me change myself and excepted me for me but his family is excepting of other cultures, religions and other ways of life. It sucks that Nicole has been trusted into a man's way family.
As an American in Egypt, Nicole would most likely find ex pat friends who behave like Americans and Europeans abroad or elite Egyptians who speak English but do not really behave like Muslims. It would be rare for her to find religious American converts to Islam unless maybe she went to Al Azhar to learn and made friends with foreigners studying Islam. Ex pats and elite Egyptians also live lives that conflict religiously, economically and probably politically with Mahmoud's. Nicole can hang out with her sweet sister in law and learn the ropes and build life for herself like so any women do when they move abroad and even come to the US where they leave behind their lives. and start over. As far as women in Egypt not being social, I would say it depends on the woman but women socialize outside of family a lot in Cairo and many also work because family's now need 2 incomes to get by if they can.
Ese Mahmoud es todo un teto. Que wuevaaa! Y Nicole tiene la cara descompuesta todo el tiempo. Ya sabemos todos que este show no es más que un teatro, pero no deja de ser entretenido.
In Egypt they often pronounce "j" sounds ( think j as in jam or James or Jamaica) as hard "g" sounds ( like galaxy, galangal or garden). Not sure if that helps? That's how it was explained when I was learning Arabic 🙂
Nicole, why did you even try to come back there if you already know that you won't be comfortable living in Egypt? Look at you, you always have that terrified look in your face since you landed! 🤦🏻♀️
@@wendytabon3029 Exactly! Like, was she expecting that this time she can wear whatever she wants to wear, without a hijab, live in a separate apartment and live the life that she wants while living with her religious husband in Egypt?! I think she totally left her common sense in America! Sorry! 🤷🏻♀️
I don't feel bad for Nicole. She could have easily done research, gotten to know Mahmoud better BEFORE getting married to him, she could have tried to dimish her "this is not how we do it in America" mentality. No shit, you're not in America. That having been said, Mahmoud is controlling and has some serious self-esteem issues for him to be unwilling to let her have friends outside the family. I don't know them personally, so I will not say they deserve each other, but blame can be appointed to both of them. Mahmoud could try to introduce her to his culture in a much more organic way, and she could be more willing to adapt to her new reality - she chose to move them permanently, she should have prepared her psyche beforehand, and Mahmoud could definitely at least ATTEMPT to make her feel welcome and respected within the boundaries of the societal rules; Rolling your eyes and scoffing when someone is asking you a genuine question about your culture (as if they are supposed to magically know this information) is not the way you can get said someone to appreciate said culture. They're both ignorant, and I hope Mahmoud's brother (who seems like a voice of reason in all of this) will be able to talk some long-term sense into them if they are to stay together.
Nicole has a perpetual anxious look on her face. She is not happy and she should reset her expectations. She is not in America

I feel Nicole what she been through. First family meetings was good great and second guessing is 'how am I gonna adapt in the culture^ if I dont explore outside myself instead follow dressing code is sux to me
She looks terrified !!! Her instinct is right. She’s in for a rude awakening… 🫣
I just love this Chinese girl.. 🥰
She has settled and really loved this family and blended in.. the magic of love..
She's East Asian so she's used to being made to conform, so it's not that much of a stretch for her.
@Lilman Yellow conforming or blending in, she's doing it for the love of that man..
@Lilman Yellow no one forced her to come there, convert and marry him.
Could be a China Muslim who is used yo the culture already

Girl, you’re not in the USA and that’s their custom and tradition. This family is actually very nice and Nicole makes this so painful to watch cause it looks like that is not the place for her.
Guys watch the clip again and tell me what you think about Mahmoud's body language. This guy clearly looks agitated. Is he nervous thinking about all future plan and how to manipulate the whole scenario? I have controlling vibes from him...this girl is going to be ripped off her soul if she doesn't leave soon
He's the kind of male that will be abusive and hold her responsible. Big red flag.
In some families this is how it is but it’s definitely not representative of Allah Egyptians
She reminds me of Sheldon... big bang theory 🤣🤣
What exactly do they see in each other that they claim to love. Seems they are repelled by each other…..
Look at her husband when she’s saying she’d like to make friends… he can hardly control his irritation…
She seems like the lamest person that ever existed.
Oh, poor Nicole! She is never going to be able to go out alone. Maybe she can go out with the sister in law or another lady family member but that's about all. No friends for you!!! Sorry
She is an airhead.
The fact that she thinks she can get him to bend a little. Ha!
Why can't she just accept she hates everything. Just go home!
Dude needs some Hollywood Fashion Tape for his shirt.
The kind of things that most of the world doesn't worry about.
Not at all! He's a handsome devil and I'd like to see more, rather than less, of his young, lean body!!! xxx
Don't do it girl. Learn from yve.
She looks so overwelmed!
She is an airhead.
She looked violent from Charlie and the chocolate factory😂😂😭😭🤮🤮🤣🤣
plssss lmfaooo
That's better for the drama value
@@isabellancali5388 Tunisia and Lebanon are the least conservative out of the Arab countries
It also reminded me of my sisters husband from France living with our family and learning about us
Nicole. baby girl Go Home!! You look like you are held captive!!!! Go Home!!!!
OMG, how can she be so naive and not inform herself: women in that country don't go out and make friends! Not when you get married to someone who takes his religion so serious
I have NO respect for the women who had daughters in a family knowing the daughter would never be allowed to have friends or a job or go to school. 🤬
I love the Asian wife she’s got good energy and adjusted so good into the culture and family. Her kids beautiful that’s a happy marriage for real.
HE IS NO PRIZE
Neither is she
All of Nicoles problems are about her own mindset. Her own mind is limiting her. Why did the chinese lady fit in so easily and happily? Why are you making a huge fuss about something as simple as clothes? You can do whatever permissible fun you want, just dress modestly. Go swim, go shopping, go walking, etc covering your body is not a big deal
Why she always looks like she's being held hostage...
Because she is.
@@marknewton6984 I don't think so, she's the one who putted herself in that situation knowing that it's not the kind of life that she aspires. She's so naive, I don't know how she could survive in LA...

So that is going to be the big drama with this couple? Nicole and the hijab?
She looks traumarised
Hi
Her haircut tho 😂😂
Omg not gonna work 😳💔 she is waisting her time 🥴🥴🥴 sad
She's wasting everyone's time!
Why is she showing so much scared faces on camera? This is so fake. And is she wearing a wig?
Different societies are different, there the families are big and close so they don't even have the need to have friends....its actually a good thing in a way
it s lovely but it s also nice to have a few friends to have different view points breathe and exchange

The women don't go out much but thr men are always out drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes
The conservative families are very controlling in Egypt. I (American) met Egyptian man 22 yrs ago and he never once made me change myself and excepted me for me but his family is excepting of other cultures, religions and other ways of life.

I'm not a totally extrovert kind of person but I won't be able to survive in this situation. Not a chance.
this won't work... just a feeling...
Nicole has been living by herself, expecting to live with the entire family under one roof is ridiculous.
Even my mother and father also stopped socializing and interacting with their friends on a frequent basis after marrying my father and we are Chinese
Ese Mahmoud es todo un teto. Que wuevaaa! Y Nicole tiene la cara descompuesta todo el tiempo. Ya sabemos todos que este show no es más que un teatro, pero no deja de ser entretenido.
Nicole needs to RUN. She's walking into a prison living in Egypt.
Get Out while you still can
I didn’t think it was pronounced heh-gAAb. 🤔 thought it was pronounced heh-job.
In Egypt they often pronounce "j" sounds ( think j as in jam or James or Jamaica) as hard "g" sounds ( like galaxy, galangal or garden). Not sure if that helps? That's how it was explained when I was learning Arabic 🙂
This is not going to work at all
RUN.... As fast as you can.
She is beautiful and he is so lucky I wish found my love soon beautiful and sweet and smart
Nicole, why did you even try to come back there if you already know that you won't be comfortable living in Egypt? Look at you, you always have that terrified look in your face since you landed! 🤦🏻♀️
She tried it before and it didn’t work I don’t get why she thinks things will be different this time unreal
@@wendytabon3029 Exactly! Like, was she expecting that this time she can wear whatever she wants to wear, without a hijab, live in a separate apartment and live the life that she wants while living with her religious husband in Egypt?! I think she totally left her common sense in America! Sorry! 🤷🏻♀️
Scary😮
