- After juicing the carb with starter fluid and priming the fresh fuel through the system, this 366 is starting up pretty gracefully. A lot of tuning yet to do and refresh of wires, distributor cap etc. Overall, very happy with the first official run.
Looking forward to see more of it.
It's rare
I'm terrible at pulling the cam/phone out to make videos while I'm in the moment. But I'll try to post updates at milestones.
That is one beautiful rig
Awesome what a great project
I love it!😊
That is so cool it would make a great rat rod👍😎🍺
I agree! In fact, there are so many COOL options! I've been grappling with some of them, but must hold to one thing for sure. I have the 22 foot flatbed trailer this truck towed for many many years. I want to retain the ability to hook up and tow that trailer. Thinking parades, performances, band nights etc. Still, much to crunch to figure out what to do with the cab. At the moment I'm thinking to gloss the patina, highlighting the details like the CHEVROLET emblems in red, and black out the frame, tanks, and wheels. But still must decide.
This truck good fram.truck
Did y'all notice the cab corners?! They look better than new, if you ask me.
This makes me wish i had laid claim to my grandfather's '66 flatbed. That 305 sounded so sweet!
Was the per chance a GMC?
Was the truck per chance a GMC? Is what I ment to ask.
@patrickmcgoldrick8234 yes, sir, it was a GMC.
Need more videos on it!
I'm not the best social media content creator. I tend to work on stuff and don't make time to video the progress. Not to much has happened just yet. I'll try to post updates whenever I hit a milestone.
Nice running 366
Thanks, Patrick. I'm encouraged with it so far. I'm about to pull the carb and start a rebuild on that. I think I also have some vacuum leakage here and there. I also need to address the breaks. I can push hard a few times and get them to stop the truck. So they need a full bleed. Also, I've been trying to identify the booster, it seems to not be functioning either. It's located under the cab on the driver's side. Probably need to rebuild that, too.
@@cousindave76 I love your truck, it's a sharp looking tractor, the 60-6 Chevy, GMC truck has a great look to them.I a big fan of the 64-6 big C series trucks,65 was the last year of the 348/409 Chevy engines,66,was the first year of the Mark 4 big block tall deck truck engine, which was the 366.I hope you really enjoy the truck, it's a great foundation and im good shape. Best Wishes.
@@patrickmcgoldrick8234 Thank you, sir! I do in fact have the 366 in this 66' beast. And I agree, I love the styling of the 60-66 year C60's. I've not made any big leaps with it yet, but I do have a 22' trailer that came with the truck. I'll try to at least post an update that includes coverage of the trailer as well.
@@cousindave76 I forgive me but I have to know what kind of trailer?
@@patrickmcgoldrick8234 It's a 1951 22 foot flatbed trailer. Originally issued to US NAVY, it was used by a college since 1972. It's air braked. I'll create a video on it soon and share to the channel so you can see it.
How the 66 working out, damn mice truck.
@@patrickmcgoldrick8234 Hey, Patrick. It’s been great. Starts right up every time. Still needs a lot of love. Need to rebuild carb and go through normal checks after gettin a new to me old truck. But it’s not sat dormant. I used it along with the 22’ flatbed trailer that came with it to help neighbors get bulk trash to dump day drop off point. While that sounds like a terrible chore, I enjoyed the task while using my C60! Proud moment.
@@cousindave76 Good to hear, best of time and miles.
Ive got a '64 C80 I'm considering repowering with a diesel.
What gas engine did they put into the 64' C80? Yeah, I'd say you likely would do well with a diesel swap.
Nice.
Se Ollé excelente,al parecer tiene todavía buena potencia😂😅😊❤🎉
i think it should stay the way it is
I am planning on keeping the patina of the cab just the way it is. To address light surface rust on the frame, wheels, or possibly other working parts of the truck, I may clean and paint black. But if anything, that would be all.
what is the wheel base of your truck im building a 63 960 ?
That's a darn good question that I've not yet tried to discover. I know there were MANY wheel base options for the 66'; what is the correct way to measure? Front hub to rear hub?
@@cousindave76 center of axle to center of front hub i think .
145". I finally found the plate mounted up on the left side of the cab just under the dash.
Big Block truck
Yes, sir. For the 1966 C60 the v8 offering is the 366 tall deck with a Rochester 2 barrel. I still need to verify that with the numbers on the block, but looking at it, I'm thinking It is the 366.
@@cousindave76 a 2 barrel Damm love me a 4 barrel ass kicking sound get down in its
